It’s Basti from Germany’s finest Synth lovers Final DJs’ birthday! To celebrate this auspicious occasion the duo have whipped up this luscious reMix of Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie NicksStand Back. It’s an epic vocal that fits in nicely with Final DJs epic synth ethos. Expect hazy electronic vibes.

Loaded with dreamy synths, as thick as you like, this reMix is a multi layers wave of electronic goodness. Waves of rich tones and nostalgic hooks crash over Stevie Nicks husky vocal. With just a hint of Cosmic Disco and Italo amongst the slick SynthWave styled ElectroPop, Final Djs make the track both hazily nostalgia and futuristic at the same time. [MP3] Mitch Murder’s ‘The Touch’ (+ Nite Sprite reMix)

mitch-murder_thumb

Earlier this week we introduced you to the new single from Swedish SynthWave genius Mitch Murder. Set for wider recognition, this is Mitch’s first release on Diplo’s Mad Decent label and their Jeffree’s sub-imprint. On Wednesday we played you the reMix of The Touch from French Touch pioneer Lifelike, now the whole single is out, and better still, it’s free.

The Touch is Mitch at his best, A slick combination of his emotional soundtrack work and his more upbeat Electro Funk stylings. Riding on a solid retro beat and chugging digital bassline, the track wraps the listener in warm waves of lush chords with a slight jazzy swing, complimented by a rocking synth lead. It’s pure nostalgia in five minutes of body moving synthesizer Boogie. Alongside the Lifelike reMix comes a version from Norwegian duo Nite Sprite, who inject the track with a dreamy Disco twist and ripples of shiny melodies and wailing synth solos. Also featured on the release is Race Day, a track we featured a while back. This single is pretty much essential.

[Audio] Adeyhawke’s ‘In Memorex’

Print

Part of his forthcoming EP for Girlfriend Records, In Memorex is the latest tune from Irish RoboDisco producer Adeyhawke. We’ve been loving his releases this year, after a period of quiet, he’s back bigger than ever with tunes that have us chomping at the bit to get our hands on this new EP.

In Memorex is a massive big room synthetic Disco tune. This one’s all about going big. Big beats, big basslines and big synth riffs. With an amazing 80s Electronic Soul swing in the bass department, the track is ridden by layers of playful snyth lines and vocal samples. In Memorex delivers infectious Electro Boogie vibes to todays Disco dancefloors, and does it with style.

[MP3] Baron Von Luxxury edits Madonna’s ‘Vogue’

Madonna

Put together using “only bits from the original multitrack stems” LA DiscoPop genius Baron Von Luxxury has put together an epic, dancefloor targeted edit of Madonna’s classic 1990 ode to the Harlem gay House scene, Vogue. And it is pretty stunning.

If you’ve ever heard Vogue and thought ‘man, that’s a good groove’ then this tune is for you. Stretching that instantly recognisable House hook out into a six minute dancefloor trip, Luxxury drops fresh beats, and vocal snatches over the deep Chicago-esque hook. The vocals are, for the most part, modulated to fit the new vibe and the whole track ends up a storming deep retro House tune that would slot perfectly into and cotemporary House set. [MP3] Rocco Raimundo reMixes LeSale’s ‘Before The Night’

LeSale

This track was actually released last December as part of Luv Shack’s Lessons In Luv EP, but Australian Disco producer extraordinaire Rocco Raimundo has decided to give his reMix of DJ LeSale’s Before The Night away for free. Very generous of him too, as the track is perfect summer evening’s fodder.

Serving up the track in the form of a smooth House jam, with a dreamtime groove. Both the vocal samples and the reverby piano hook seem to float over the track and the whole arrangement, whist tights, has a loose, chilled vibe to it. Layers of synths weave in and out of the track, sparking melodies rising and fading. This is one from relaxing with good friends and good drinks and watching the day turn in to night.

[Audio] Icona Pop’s ‘All Night’

icona pop

Swedish ElectroPop duo Icona Pop have, in a very shot time, gone from being relegated to smaller blogs dealing with ElectroPop to being massive superstars. I Love It and Girlfriend blew up big time, and deservedly so, the girls deliver big room commercial House sounds mixed with rowdy, shouty, EelctroPop that makes for an explosive and infectious combination.

Their new tune, All Night doesn’t stray to far from the formula, competing big beats, chainsaw synths and hollered, anthemic vocals that are easy to catch. Icona Pop are something truly different in the world of Pop, and maybe the kick in the ass it needs. I can’t think of anyone around at the moment who can balance this kind of in-you-face Pop with Indie cool, but these girls do so effortlessly.

[Audio] Monsieur Adi & A*M*E’s ‘What’s Going On?’

Monsieur Adi

It feels like everyone’s coming of age this week. Two producers we’ve been championing for years are set to explode, first Mitch Murder is gearing up to drop his Mad Decent début, and now our good friend Monsieur Adi, who’s been poised for a mainstream embrace for a while now, is about to release his début single via Relentless/Sony. Not only that, but the track features the UK’s current House vocalist darling A*M*E. After a run of major projects, producing Seal, reMixing Beyoncé, Adi’s time is now.

Long time Adi fans will instantly recognise What’s Going On?. It’s a track that’s been brewing for a while, since 2010 in fact when we first heard the Frenchman’s reMix of Soul II Soul’s Back To Like (However Do You Want Me?). In the in-between years the track has been given an extreme makeover, they synths are fatter, the beats harder, the orchestration more epic and  the Caron Wheeler vocal line has been replaced by A*M*E who is sounding, frankly, better than I’ve ever heard her as she makes the track her own and delivers a truly stratospheric performance. This is the best of Adi, rousing stings, thick synth hooks, a Dreamwavey Disco style wrapped up with hard Electro production and Pop sensibilities. It’s gonna’ be huge.

[Audio] Annie’s ‘Invisible’

Annie

It’s another new track from Annie and Richard X’s forthcoming A&R EP. Following Back Together and Hold On this right here is the third taste of what to expect we’ve had so far. It;s also the hardest, and darkest entry in the EP so far, and the most in-your-face early 90s too. The track’s called Invisible, but it’s aggressive dancefloor stylings are anything but.

Right from the offset, Invisible is full-on Acid Rave. Breakbeat style TR-909 drum patterns, twisted TB-303 riffs, distorted Rave organs, this is pure white glove warehouse material. Add to this Annie offering a husky, deadpan vocal delivery, at times pitched down to gender bending extremes, and you have a track that captures the excitement of the early Rave culture whist still serving up something that Annie makes her own. So looking forward to this EP.

[MP3] Cyclist’s ‘Shine’ (+ Rogue Vogue reMix)

Cyclist

Our friend Mr. Penner is back. Next week Cyclist releases his new single on Jerry Bouthier’s Continental Records, and it’s a stormer. Featuring the vocal stylings of fellow Canadian Maiko Watson, it’s full-on vintage DiscoPop gold that comes equipped with reMixes from Rogue Vogue,  Lou Teti & Drop Out Orchestra.

That track’s called Shine, and it does what it says on the tin. Bringing tons of Nu-Disco and even more Boogie to the table, Cyclist heaps on squelchy Moog-esque basses and a wired Disco beat to create a rock solid foundation of Electro-Funk for Maiko’s massive, soulful vocals. This one could easily be slotted into most kinds of Disco or House sets and would undisputable keep the dancefloor moving. One of our favourite Chicago House acts, Rogue Vogue, deliver a slick warehouse jam, deep and funky with a glamorous twist. Pure vintage House vibes. The whole package is pretty sweet and definitely worth checking out when it drops next week.

Teenagers In Heat video Holy Ghost YouTube

Here’s the video for New York Indie-DiscoPop duo Holy Ghost!’s Teenagers In Heat, a track we featured last week.

Ben Fries directs the clip, which at first glace is one of those awful ‘lyric videos’ but upon further examination is a clever, sticker based journey through New York via the medium of VHS tape.
