[Audio] LoFrames’ ‘In Love With You’ (+ Monsieur Adi & Aashton reMixes)

LoFrames continue to go from strength to strength. Ever since these guys got together they have been quietly making waves with the people in the know. Even before they teamed up they were a couple of our favourite producers; James Yuill and out very own Franck from Freak You (one of our favourite people full stop) have had blistering carriers of their own, so them coming together, and bringing their respective SynthPop, House and Disco talents to the table, was something pretty special.

Their first release, Get Real (Can’t Touch Your Love), from the start of the year was a deep Pop House tune that remained on our playlist well into the summer. The duo are just now following up with their brand new single. In Love With You is actually a cover the 2003 French House classic by The Paradise. The Paradise were, of course, was Alan Braxe and Romuald; Braxe himself has given LoFrames’ cover his seal of approval.

LoFrames version of the tune is a sumptuous, hypnotic jam. Like a warm blanket of dancefloor sounds LoFrames’ In Love With You lays out building blocks of warm synths and slightly metallic leads into Dance soundtrack that is so rich, heady and uplifting it borders Progressive. The snatches of vocals drift in and out of the smokey sounds begging to be followed onto the tunes depths. We were also pretty pleased to see a return of the epic sax from get Real, we’re hoping the sax is a mainstay of LoFrames sound moving forward.

Among the reMixes served up on the singe are these two gems, from a couple of our favourite producers around. Monsieur Adi is back and laying down one of his massive ElectroPop reMixes. This one harkens back to his Electro-House roots a bit with big gritty synths and a stomping beat but in true Pop style Adi revels in having that drifting sax to play with. Brightonion Aashton gets all dreamy with the track on his kinda’ smooth affair. Walking the line between Tech and Deep Aashton’s hypnotic House mix brings a sweltering groove to the release.

[Audio] Monsieur Adi’s ‘Runaway’

Here’s the latest tune from our favourite French renaissance man, Monsieur Adi. It’s actually been a while since we’ve heard a new original tune from Adi, but then again he’s spends his days reMixing and producing some massive starts these days so we’ll let him off. For his new song he’s raining in the high-octane, cinematic Electro for an laid back, emotional groover; Runaway.

Vocoder passion and thick heavy synths permeate every second of Runaway. The drums are a bit of a departure for Adi, verging into neo-Madeon drum territory, as the man heaps on piles of rich and emotive keys, stack deep but exquisitely mixed so each layer delivers it’s resonant punch. Add to that a heartfelt vocoder performance, like a robotic lament, and you have some powerful electronics right here.

[Audio] Monsieur Adi reMixes Lana Del Rey’s ‘Brooklyn Baby’

Monsieur Adi has finally unleashed his much hinted at reMix of Lana Del Ray’s Brooklyn Baby, taken from her album Ultraviolence. Whist we’re not generally fans of Del Rey reMixes, this one is something a bit special, concentrating all of Adi’s strong points into one bassy ElectroPop juggernaut. The man really is on of the top talents working in Pop music today, and it;s been quite a ride watching reach this point.

Adi combines a few elements into his mix of Brooklyn Baby. There a nice retro undercurrent, delivered by an 80s sounding arpeggiated bassline, and this contrasts neatly with a skippy R&B beat and booming subs. Creating a more interesting backing that Del Rey’s voice is used to, Adi flexes his recently absent orchestral muscles and elevates the song with the cinematic rise and fall of his string section.

[Audio] Monsieur Adi’s ‘Lucky Ones’

Our favourite French composer Monsieur Adi has pulled the curtain back on his new single, the follow up to last years What’s Going On?. Enlisting the help of Brooklyn based singer Negin he’s soon to drop Lucky Ones, which sounds like Adi’s bit of the superstardom he so rightly deserves. The first hint we’ve had from Adi’s forthcoming début album, to be titled After Hours and due out early next year; this is undoubtedly the biggest Pop song you’ll have heard this year!

This is huge stuff, proper massive Pop but without any contrivance at all. Adi’s a stunningly talented musician and writer and that ability shines through and elevates the track well above identikit Dance Pop. Pairing pounding beats with layers upon layers of thick synths; Adi brings his knowledge of both Dance Music and Pop into pin-sharp clarity. Negin’s singing isn’t too shabby wither.

[Audio] Monsieur Adi reMixes Zendaya’s ‘Replay’

Zendaya is apparently some kind of Disney-esque American child star thing, the likes of which we’re pretty glad hasn’t made it across the Atlantic. Frankly, America need to concentrate on developing some of it’s amazing original Pop stars and spend less time bothering about these made-for-TV children, and they’re not that welcome this side of the pond. What is always welcome, however, is a new reMix from Monsieur Adi, who’s big room sounds make Zendaya’s Replay orders of magnitude more palatable.

Zendaya’s identikit vocals are twisted around in Adi’s rich musical tapestry and turned into something remarkably emotive. Used by Adi as another instrument, the vocals weave themselves around layers of rising synths and pulsating bass as the Monsieur delivers some spine-tingling moments and some breakdown’s fit for peak time. Adi’s reMixes never fail.

[Audio] Monsieur Adi reMixes Britney Spears’ ‘Work Bitch’

Is Monsieur Adi a Pop star yet? We were sure it was supposed to happen about now. We consulted the oracle and everything. Still What’s Going On? is released today, and it’s hotly tipped for chart dominance, so we’ll give it a week or so. In the meantime he’s doing official reMixes for Britney Spears. That’s a thing that happens when you’re a Pop star y’see.

You gotta’ give Britney credit for trying, she’s like a Pop Jack Russell trying to get at your cuppa; relentless. Also Toxic was awesome. Adi’s take on her latest single, the toe curling Work Bitch, applies his bombastic Electro to the track and is never once ashamed of going large. His rousing, cinematic, orchestration is present and correct, layered with big room synths and a nice line in boomy kicks. In anyone one else’s hand’s these huge riff and Britney vocals would have been pure cheese, but work in a little of that Adi 78-piece orchestra, and it all suddenly goes a bit epic.

[Audio] Monsieur Adi Remixes his own ‘What’s Going On?’

The talented Monsieur Adi’s A*M*E featuring soon-to-be breakthrough single What’s Going On?’s release date draws ever nearer. It;s already being tipped to hit the charts and we couldn’t be happier for Adi, it looks like he’ll finally get the success and recognition he so richly deserves. While your waiting for it;s next month release, check out this Refix Adi himself has done for the tune, adding a little Javi to the mix too.

This Refix injects a little classic, epic, Adi into the tune. A dancefloor destroying companion to the originals Pop stylings. This tune is loaded with massive, sweeping synths, huge breakdowns and growling bass that all plays perfectly with Adi cinematic orchestration. It’s like Adi of old meets new Adi, and the results will most definitely rock any crowd.

[Audio] Monsieur Adi & AME’s ‘What’s Going On?” reMixed by The Knocks

The man like Monsieur Adi and his stunning break for mainstream attention, What’s Going On?, has finally got itself a release date, and the first sign of reMixes too. The A*M*E tune is already making huge waves and getting a serious amount of airplay, this one looks like it could propel Adi to superstardom, and well deserved too, we’ve said it numerous times, Adi is one of the most talented producers around. Check out what New York Disco duo The Knocks did to the track.

The Knocks give What’s Going On? a breezy House workout with a Disco groove. Revolving around a funkin’ bassline and hands-in-the-air piano hook, The Knocks’ reMix utilises A*M*E’s big vocals to their fullest, making the whole reMix sound huge. There’s nothing like a piano riff and diva vocals to get the party started. While you’re here, peep this version from Max Sanna And Steve Pitron, it’s a pretty standard club affair, not really bringing much originality to the table but I guess Sony, a major label, wanted to keep things safe to a certain degree. Who knows, you might dig it.

[Audio] Monsieur Adi reMixes Capital Cities’ ‘Safe And Sound’

LA IndiePoppers Capital Cities’ Safe And Sound is getting quite long in the tooth now, we first wrote about it back in June 2011. The track has been give a new lease of life by French prodigy Monsieur Adi who delivers a little bit of his old style Electro Disco on this one. We’re not sure if this is a recent reMix, or something that’s been sat in the vaults for a while, either way we’re glad it’s seeing the light of day.

Adi works his magic, as we would expect him to, with grinding Electro riffs and slick Disco grooves mixed up with an addictive horn section. Morphing the song from summery Indie jam into Majestic epic, Adi’s reMix injects the track with a certain amount of drama amidst the Filtered Disco vibes, the vocals taking on a new energy set against the repeating fanfare. This is classic Monsieur Adi, a track to get excited about.
