[MP3] Touch Tone reMixes Xylos’ ‘Summerlong’

Xylos

Master of the LA Robo-Boogie Touch Tone is back with a brand new track in the form of this slick reMix. The subject of Touch Tone’s machinations this time is Brooklyn based bombastic Indie-ElectroPoppers Xylos and their breezy tune Summerlong.

Eschewing the raucous synths and wall-of-sound guitars of the original for something a little more poolside, Touch Tone whips up a pulsating summery Disco House tune to bounce you into the weekend. Folding in a little Tropical shimmy, a little Chicago warehouse vibe in the bassline department and a jump-up piano hook that straddles the line between House and Indie Touch Tone serves up an infectious daytime jam that you can’t help but move to. So just keep moving, you know you want to.

[MP3] Night Drive’s ‘Sea Of Light’ (+ Treasure Fingers reMix)

Night Drive

Here’s the new one from Austin based SynthWavePop duo Night Drive. Their second single, following June’s Drones, Sea Of Light sees the duo take on a much more commercial Indie-Electro sound, quite a way divorced from the Dreamwave of their début. The single comes packaged with a top collection of reMixes from names like Justin Faust, Elektromekanik, Kulkid and Treasure Fingers.

Sea Of Light is all about the big, Stargate-esque, early 2000’s synth riffs and gangly summery Indie guitar riffs. Having more in common with the likes of like Van She than Miami Nights 1984, Sea Of Light is perfectly primed to explode as a summery hit. This is one for good times with good friends. The mighty Treasure Finger’s take on the track is a deep sweeping Disco groover. A bass heavy, funk fuelled, robotic floorfiller. With a nice, laid back, tempo, this mix still makes you want to move, but it;s quite chilled about it.

[MP3] Keljet reMixes Kings Of Tomorrow’s ‘Finally’

Kings Of Tomorrow

Not content with sitting on their laurels after the release of their awesome current single, Love Of A Life, and winning The Knocks recent Modern Hearts reMix competition, Dutch duo Keljet are keeping their momentum going with a brand new reMix. It’s a brand new reMix of an old tune, a classic tune, the soulful House hit Finally by Kings Of Tomorrow and Julie McKnight from 2000.

IF you’re looking for a big House tune with a classic twist, then you’ve come to the right place. 909 beats and claps keep this one sounding vintage, along with a big piano hook with and an irresistible bassline. Of course, this is all added into the mix with those big diva vocals that life the track even higher. Sprinkle this with a little of Keljet’s emotional, summery, Disco vibes and you’ve got a 100% tune.

[MP3] Fear Of Tigers’ Twisted Biscuit’

Fear Of Tigers

Here’s the latest incoming dancefloor bomb from Mr. Fear Of Tigers and we can exclusively reveal it right here. Still in it’s demo infancy, Twisted Biscuit is already an absolute big room beast, loaded with floorfilling highs. Mr. Tigers is still working on Hypnerotomachia Poliphiliout (the follow up to 2009’s incredible Cossus Snufsigalonica), an album that is so eagerly awaited round these parts it’s just not funny, although his precious time has also recently been filled producing the likes of this.

So out next taste of things-to-come comes in the form of Twisted Biscuit, a high octane, euphoric, tune so huge you need to back off the speakers to give it some room. It’s got that classic Fear Of Tigers emotional rush, and retro chord progressions, but with a massive contemporary sound. Loaded with horns too! This one’s got it all, can’t wait for the album.

[MP3] Futurewife reMixes Yasmin’s ‘Thinking About You’

yasmin

The latest track from Seattle based Nu-Disco producer Futurewife comes in the form of this cheeky reMix of London Soulstress Yasmin’s Thinking About You. Proclaiming the track one of his “favorite tracks this year”, we imagine Futurewife couldn’t resist having a crack at the tune. What producer wouldn’t want to get their hands on those vocals?

Thinking About You is originally a cover of the 1985 Whitney Huston hit, which Yasmin more than does justice. With a slight Caron Wheeler inflection to her voice, Yasmin makes for the perfect subject for a sweet Nu-Disco reMix, and Futurewife really steps up to the plate. Bringing a smooth poolside vibe to the track, Futurewife works slick little Disco licks and haunting synth riffs for an atmospheric, but effortlessly funky, vibe. It;s a nice combination of being upbeat enough for the dancefloor and dreamy enough to chill too. Enjoy.

[MP3] Oliver reMixes Bonnie McKee’s ‘American Girl’

Bonnie McKee

LA based Oliver themed Nu-Disco duo Oliver go especially large with their latest reMix. Inhabiting a mid-way point between their older smoother Dreamwave Nu-Disco style and some of their more recent, more commercial Electro-House output, this reMix of upcoming American Pop singer Bonnie McKee’s ‘American Girl’ could see the guys getting some major attention.

Imagine someone walked up to you and said “here is a catchy, sing-a-long Pop tune that has been reMixed for the big room”, that’s exactly what Oliver have delivered here. Everything is turned up to 11, big synths, big beats, big riffs. This one obviously been geared to appeal to America’s current wave of dance music frenzy, but still retains that classic Oliver ,musicality and soulful flare to give it the edge on the competition.

[MP3] Russ Chimes’ ‘Turn Me Out’ reMixed by Maxum

russ-chimes-

Normally we’d be weary of reMixes of Russ Chimes tunes. For us, it’s hard to improve upon the Chimes, or even compete with. So when this email dropped into out mailbox we approached with trepidation. It’s turns out it’s pretty awesome. This mix if Russ’ recent single Turn Me Out comes from Torontonian producer Maxum who’s seven minute big room epic is both engrossing and slickly produced. Oh, and did we mention, this guys fifteen fucking years old! It’s like Madeon all over again only twelve months more ridiculous.

A brief glance over Maxum’s SoundCloud page reveals his usual style is amazingly well produced, but not really our thing, American dance music, don’t-make-me-say-it, you know what we mean. He’s amazing good at it though, but this Russ Chimes mix is something deferent altogether. Pulsating Progressive House, with hints of SynthWave. A main room sound that draws you into seven minutes, delivering ever increasing levels of energy. Layers of shimmering synths build and build alongside a pure Tropical hook. We’d definitely like to hear more like this from this kid.

[MP3] Keep Shelly In Athens reMix Selebrities’ ‘Temporary Touch’

Keep Shelly In Athens

You may think it’s Shark Week…but you’re wrong. It appears to be Keep Shelly In Athens week. Hot on the heels of Oostende, their ode to all things double ‘o’, come this wonderful, and a little scary, reMix of fellow Cascine labelmates SelebritiesTemporary Touch.

Eschewing the Post-Punk Shoegazeyness of the original for something a little more ambient and atmospheric, Keep Shelly In Athens take a tiny snatch of the vocals and repeats it through the length of the reMix until it becomes an unsettling mantra. Set against a backdrop of growling tones and ice chords, the vocal chant rides the machine beats and created a totally involving experience.

[MP3] Box Of Wolves & Hawaii94’s ‘Control’

Box Of Wolves

That Canadian purveyor of all things dreamy and ElectroPoppy Box Of Wolves has just served up a new single, free to download, alongside Australian producer Hawaii94. Box Of Wolves really does have the sound of summery day locked down, his hazy synths and infectious beats get us in a sunshine mood every time.

Control is the title of the single, a thick synthed slice of nostalgia that weaves a thread of early 90s Pop into Box Of Wolves usual, slightly Chillwave, DreamPop. Strongly heartfelt vocals, that at first glace you would consider too forceful for the music but soon blend into the swirling hazy of synths perfectly, give the track it;s resonant core whilst Control’s reverb soaked chords and skippy hi-hats conjure images of lazy summer evenings. The single also comes equipped with an instrumental version of the tune.

[MP3] digitalfoxglove’s ‘Daytona’

digitalfoxglove

It’s been a long time since we heard an original tune from Germany’s finest digitalfoxglove. Mostly, the man has had his attention focused on his work as part of Dreamwave superheroes Ride The Universe, but he still gets the occasional moment to get his solo groove on. He’s gearing up to release a new EP under the digitalfoxglove moniker and last night he dropped our first taste of what’s to come, Daytona.

Daytona is surprisingly SynthWave for producer with some of the slickest Nu-Disco skills on the planet. With not a Disco lick in sight, digitalfoxglove stands shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Mitch Murder and Miami Nights 1984 as he delivers a blistering Outrun tune, a frantic synthesizer speedway loaded with rolling arpeggios and soaring leads. digitalfoxglove takes his pin-sharp production and applies it to the euphoric, emotional rush of a cracking SynthWave tune to soundtrack all your clichéd night drives.
