Satin Jackets & Rocco Raimundo

Satin Jackets

German smooth Electro Boogie guru Tim Bernhardt A.K.A. Satin Jackets had teamed up with the king of late night Disco Rocco Raimundo for some funky bass heavy good times.

The result of this meeting of minds is ‘This Is The Love’, a laid back Nu-Disco jam with a relaxed piano groove and a distant Disco lick. With a great, and well used, vocal sample intertwining with some sweet talkbox vocal action the track is full, but never overbearing, keeping a chilled vibe throughout. Both these guys are at the top of their respective games so it’s no surprise that the track they produced is so slick, and so smooth.

Electric Youth’s ‘Right Back To You’

Electric Youth

Does anyone else feel like Electric Youth should release stuff more often? They’re easily one of Canada’s finest ElectroPop exports but we hear from them so sporadically.

Take ‘Coming Right Back To You’, which we first heard a year ago and is finally available to buy. it’s a track that shows off just how clued up EY are when it comes to both songwriting and production styles in a mid-‘80’s Pop vein. It’s easy enough to recreate, or be influenced by ‘80’s music, but the era does have a particular signature when it comes to songwriting and vocal arrangement and Electric Youth have got it locked down. The production too, the use of big synth chords and the insertion of guitar, all authentically slick ‘80’s Pop. Fellow Canadian Dreamwaver DVAS sets up for reMix duties with a laid back funktastic track full of warm analog synth sounds and a delicate Rhodes piano holding up the melody.

Yuksek & Peter & The Magician (hold on, two of those are the same!)

yuksek

Yuksek’s newest single will be reMixed by Yuksek again alongside Stephen Frasano, the ex-half of Aeroplane in their awesome Peter & The Magician, guise.

‘Always On The Run’, gets the honour of being the first released Peter & The Magician reMix, after their amazing ‘Twist’ EP on Kitsuné. And what a way to kick off a reMixing career. Flawless synthesizer DiscoPop is the best way to describe it, Both of these guys really are at the top of their game and have crafted something bewilderingly likable here. there’s nothing about this track that disappoints, from the bouncy bass to the maddeningly infectious melody this tune is a winner.

Zimmer’ ‘Looking At You’ video

Here is the video for ‘Looking At You’, The lead track from synthetic Disco producer Zimmer’s new EP, ‘Horizontal Disco’.

Louis La Roché’s ‘Los Angeles’

LouisLaRoche

Hot on the heels of his current proper single, the double A-sided  ‘Gimme Gimme’/‘The Wall’ Mr. Louis La Roché is in such a good mood he released another new single for free on his SoundCloud.

‘Los Angeles’ is pure Nu-Disco gold. La Roché shows off his flair for picking and manipulating samples here at it’s finest with a wicked vocal hook and some blazing horns. All backed up by LLR’s shuffling synth Disco groove. There’s even a special B-side edit that mixes in a little bit of something very familiar…

Silenx reMixes The Tapeaters

The Tapeaters

The Tapeaters and Silenx. Two of the more interesting act to emerge in the last couple of years.

So for Silenx to work his Nu-Disco excellence on The Tapeaters retro DiscoPop is a bit of a treat. The track ‘Don’t You Dare’ is the Russian duo at their ElectroPop finest and Silenx adds his bright synthy sheen to the tune. The track has a smooth, laid back vibe despite being pretty upbeat, the thick , warm sounds that Silenx uses gives his reMix an little soft Funk, even Yacht, flavour in amonget the kickin’ Disco beats.

Le Crayon reMixes Justice’s ‘D.A.N.C.E.’

justice

Finding yourself loving half the new Justice album but a little disappointed by the “let’s strip apart ‘60’s Prog Rock and make even more mediocre ‘60’s Prog Rock out of it” other half? Well Le Crayon has your antidote.

Ahh, remember the days of ‘D.A.N.C.E.’? Le Crayon does and has dropped an awesome reworking that brings it up to date a little  and gives it a nice heavy Disco-House feel. With more of a 2011 groove, in all it’s ironically retro glory, it’s time for ‘D.A.N.C.E.’ to takeover the D.A.N.C.E.floors again.

Monsieur Adi’s ‘Blood’

Monsieur Adi

Monsieur Adi’s ‘Fire Fire Fire’ single is already out, but this December it get’s turned into a whole EP of Adi’s orchestral Electro amazingness. Check the first new tune, ‘Blood’.

By now it’s probably a bit redundant for us to sing the praises of Adi once again, the man is a genius with top-of-the-pack skills in both Nu-Disco groove and massive cinematic orchestration and ‘Blood ‘ doesn’t disappoint. The way the majestic baroque introduction sets you up for the big drop works so well. There’s a touch of Daft Punk about this track but Adi can’t really be compared to anyone else out there, no-one does what he does, no-one could.

Monsieur Adi’s EP ‘Fire Fire Fire’ will be out on 5th December, the single is out now.

VanGuard reMix The Scientists Of Modern Music, again

The Scientists Of Modern Music

The Scientists Of Modern Music must have loved VanGuard’s last reMix for them so much, they’ve gone and got them back to work over their forthcoming new single.

The welsh Nu-Disco outfit have done another stellar job on the reMix. Their version of ‘Girl On Top’ is pure funky goodness. The percussion in this tune is crazy, and it’s what drives the track along and provides such an intense backing for VanGuard’s big, rounded, funk synths and soaring leads. Mix that up with The Scientists Of Modern Music’s slick Antipodean ElectroPop and you’ve got a cool glide straight to the dancefloor.

Clancy reMixes Robyn’s ‘None Of Dem’

robyn

We’ve been waiting for this one for a while. As unashamed lovers of Robyn we can’t think of anything better than Clancy, one of the UKs top Nu-Disco producers reMixing ‘None Of Dem’.

Clancy peppers his retro synth groove with a sweet ‘90’s House Piano riff running throughout. There’s also a nice Italo influence in the bassline too, in fact the reMix seems to be a melting pot of everything that’s good and great in dance music, wrapped up with Robyn’s left-field ElectroPop. That’s kinda’ what I like about Clancy, as well as having the production skills, he always seems keen to draw on different styles but never let’s them overrun what he’s doing. It makes for exciting synth music every time and, as displayed here, dancefloor gold.
