Jupiter’s ‘Juicy Lucy (Needs A Boogieman)’, with Little Boots, Punks Jump Up and Zimmer

Jupiter

Juicy Lucy (Needs A Boogieman), the title track from awesome French ElectroPop duo Jupiter’s début album is getting s single release this week, in all it’s Moog Funk glory. It’s accompanied by an absolutely stunning reMix package.

It;s hard to say Juicy Lucy (Needs A Boogieman) was one of the standouts of the album, when the album contained nearly one-hundred percent killer tracks, but it certainly was one of the tracks that sticks in your head, with it’s twisted P-Funk bassline and infectiously catchy chorus. It’s the prefect mix of sweet ElectroPop and warm French Disco. Our girl Little Boots delivers a majestic reMix that mixes up a deep 90s House vibe with a few Cosmic elements. Vicky brings a hypnotic dancefloor groove, layered with and uplifting piano hook and some great robo-vocoding. Punks Jump Up go down the warped Disco route with their reMix, the funky squelch bass powering the track along and commanding you to dance amidst the piercing synth stabs. Belgian angled Disco-meister Zimmer takes us down a Kraftwerk meets Moroder road with his take on the track. A deep electronic, at times Acidic pulse, that belies some seriously beautiful melodies.

Ellie Goulding reMixed by Alex Metric

Ellie Goulding

Alex Metric has whipped up a hell of a reMix with his new track. He’s worked over Ellie Goulding’s forthcoming new single Anything Could Happen and delivered a full on dancefloor assault.

So far, we are sad to say, we haven’t been that taken with any of the single from Ellie’s new album. Which is a pity, Lights was our album of the year back in 2010, Ellie’s voice and Starsmith’s (mostly) production was a killer combination but the new album seems a little more low key. Anyway, Metric sweeps that aside and goes massive with his version of Anything Could Happen, using the vocals primarily as a big breakdown in to seriously addictive Electro madness. Clashing, rapid first synth riffs and a slick Disco beat come together to make a groovy, but in-your-face, body moving monster.

Figure Of 8 reMixes Creatures Of Love

Creatures Of Love

The best thing to come out of Belfast since Sons Of Anarchy season three, and star of the hit dragon-porn show Game Of Thrones, Figure Of 8 is back with a brand new reMix. This time he’s tackling Industrial EtheriPop outfit Creatures Of Love’s new single ‘Vakkula’.

The original is a surprisingly catchy slice of machine beats and ominous tones. Shades of early 4AD output and pre-Pop-Trance Delirium dungeon music with a powerful vocal line. A vocal line which Figure Of 8 picks up and runs with it, pairing it up with a pulsating SynthPop bassline and roomy dance beats. Merging his classic dance sound with a slight Italo-Dub touch, Figure Of 8 takes just the right approach to sliding this track onto the dancefloor. The soundsystem echoes and reverb washed drums allow the track to retain it’s left-field vibe whilst giving it a kick in the kick drum. Figure Of 8 has taken the track from strobe light to mirrorball, while loosing none of the song’s character.

Ryan Riot reMixes Revolver

Revolver

Here’s the new reMix from Swiss SynthWave wonder Ryan Riot. It;s his anthemic take on French Indie band Revolver’s Let’s Get Together, and it strays from his usual retro Synth style into some decidedly hypnotic Disco territory.

Mr. Riot instils the track with am impressive level of drama, constantly building layers upon layers of cinematic strings and tension building synth leads. We’re not really familiar with the original, but the vocals have a Muse-like air of anthemic majesty to them, and Ryan plays off that with his track, which includes a massive breakdown and build, whilst also delivering a helping of 90’s House in the background. Well worthy of and dancefloor, Ryan Riot’s mix of Let’s Get Together may be his best work to date. Can;t wait for the next.

80s Stallone’s ‘Out Of The Blue’

80s Stallone

London SynthWave master 80s Stallone’s new track, Out Of The Blue, might just be his most dancefloor friendly to date. We’d even go so far as to say there’s a load of Italo-Disco up in there. 80’s Stallone producing big dancefloor tracks is definitely something to get excited about, Check it out!

Pounding machine drums and a rapid fire Italo bassline rule this track, bringing the big 80s sounds straight to the middle of the dancefloor and making it bounce in unison. There are time in this track, that it is so relentless in it’s groove that it boarders on EBM, but it tempered with some sweet lead lines and distant vocoding. We can’t stop listening to this track, it takes us back to the New Beat and EBM dancefloors of our childhoods with a really nice 80s Italo sheen.

Mirror People’s ‘Kaleidoscope’

Mirror People

The awesome Discotexas’ latest release comes from stable member Mirror People and an insanely infectious tune called Kaleidoscope. Released today, this tune has been getting tons of play and support from the likes of The Magician, Bottin, Bag Raiders, Moullinex, B-Xentric! and MiGHty mOUse. Deservedly too, it’s pure crazy fun Disco.

With a twisted P-Funk bassline and a melody that worms it’s way into your brain like some insidious mind control, Kaleidoscope is built on the foundations of a solid beat and a hypnotic loop. Add a few Acidic burbles and shiny chiming leads and you have a floorfiller that is all about the good times. Discotexas cohort Xinobi supplies the reMix, mixing in a little of his left-field Disco and Italo sounds. even going so far as to make things a bit soulful with a nice piano line. One again, Discotexas have delivered a top quality party rocker.

Chordashian’s ‘Illusion’

Chordashian

Chordashian have joined the Binary family! When did that happen? I’m sure I’m supposed to get a memo about these things. I’m definitely going to say it was a good call from Josh and Kyle bringing these guys into the fold, we’ve been supporting Chordashian in these pages for a while now and the Brooklyn duo seem like a perfect fit.

Their first single for Binary is a free download, Illusion. Whenever I read the word Illusion my mind immediately switched to Just An Illusion by Imagination mode, Chordashian’s new tune is nothing to do with that infectious ‘80’s hit, and may just be catchy enough to break Imagination’s mental monopoly. This Illusion is a rolling slice of Beach Disco, a pumping Housey jam with a Tropical feel. It’s got a nice warehouse groove that really get you moving, and washed that with a layer of sun-kissed Disco sounds, wicked licks and some ace digital sax, to add a good-times flavour to the mix. top everything off with some distant, dreamy, vocals and you’ve got the prefect beach party tune.
