[MP3] Anoraak reMixes Trésors

Trésors

French Dreamwave pioneer Anoraak never fail to impress and excite with their releases, with are too few and far between, as they do with this latest offering. It’s a reMix of fellow Frenchmen, SynthPop outfit Trésors, who released their début album last November on Modular. Vocally, it’s the perfect song for Anoraak to reMix, sitting with his dreamy synths like it was always supposed to be there.

Eschewing the original brooding dark synth vibe for a more optimistic, nostalgic take on the song, Anoraak brings out his best bright sounds and a thumping Disco beat. Taking you back to the heyday of Dreamwave, all those many three-or-four years ago, this reMix captures all the best Italo influenced elements of the genre. The driving arpeggiated bassline, the warm-glow keys, the track slowly building toward a dancefloor frenzy finale, this ones got everything. Anoraak’s mix features alongside Holy Strays, Bestial Mouths, Steve Moore, Blackmail on the official single package out in April.

Chris Malinchak

Here’s the video for New Yorker Chris Malinchak’s dreamy new single, So Good To Me. Already Pete Tong’s ‘Essential New Tune’, this summer slice of electronic haze looks poised to do big things.

The video was premièred at the weekend by Ministry Of Sound TV and presents a youthful innocence that fits the track well. And Giraffes.

[MP3] Arcade High reMixed by Jordan F

Arcade High

Well, this is just a meeting of two SynthWave minds that we’ve been looking forward to for a while. Back in July last year, Pittsburgh producer Arcade High released his track On The Edge Of Summer, which closely followed his excellent The Art Of Youth album. Now, with summer approaching (hello UK, yes, this is sarcasm) a year later the mighty Jordan F has delivered his reworking of the tune. Time to get on the edge of summer once more.

Jordan smoothes out the spikey production of the original, give it more of a sunkissed feel. If the original heralded the warmer months from an urban rooftop, Jordan F’s reMix welcomes the sun from a prime position on a lounger by the pool. Loaded with lush, thick, synths and playful melodies, Jordan, never one to get complacent with his music, performs a brilliant tempo adjusted breakdown before launching into the track’s Disco’d out finale. Synthesizer bliss.

[Audio] Silenx reMixes Phunktastike

Phunktastike

Mid-last year Argentinian producer Phunktastike delivered his excellent single, Love In The 80s. Now that track is getting a full-on reMix package courtesy of Logical Records and amongst the packed nine track release sits this gem from our friend Silenx. Once again Silenx brings something a little different to the table and washes it in Sci-Fi synths.

Occupying a similar post-Italo territory to the likes of Cinnamon Chasers, Silenx’s mix of Love In The 80s brings an Italo arrangement right up to date with slick production. This is one of Silenx’s best to date, and that’s saying something as the man has an impressive catalogue. It’s got a smooth retro feel, but with enough dancefloor kick to keep Disco lovers happy. Layers with rich, emotional, progressions the song really strikes a chord layering a resonant track with intricate melodies and leads. Beautiful space age noise.

[Audio] Final DJs & Gin Joints ‘City Nights’

Final DJs

Germany’s finest, Final DJs, are set to release another new single next week. This time the Dreamwave duo are teaming up with Sweedish lover of 80s Funk, Gin Joints. The meeting of these minds can result in nothing but the finest smooth synth sounds. This is one to get you geared up for the weekend.

The single comes with a storming reMix package featuring some awesome work from Figure Of 8, Neon Workout, Knbtz and Gin Joints himself, but right now we can grab a listen to the original version wich sees Final DJs funking it out with a fat-as-hell synth boogie bass and shimmering chords. Gin Joints lays down some smooth vocals on the track and give it a classy, late night, vibe. Overall though, it’s be that bassline that’ll get you hooked. It’s hypnotic I tells ya. Also, did he just say “listen to some Chromeo”? I was kinda’ happy listening to Final DJs and Gin Joints.

[MP3] Justin Faust reMixes Hey Champ!

heychamp2013_thumb

We’re still rocking to Chicago ElectroPoppers Hey Champ new, and free, single, Comet. The BeuKes featuring tune is one of our favourite tracks of the year so far, well on it;s way to becoming an Indie-Electro anthem. Well, here’s the icing on the cake reining heavyweight champion of German Disco Justin Faust has worked his magic on the track, and everything’s gone dreamy.

Faust’s smooth synthetic Disco sounds are the prefect accompaniment for Hey Champ’s Comet. Loaded with Dreamwave sounds and an infectious groove. Playing off a simple, hypnotic, bassline against starlight, sparking lead lines, Faust creates a fittingly spacey mood that flows as effortlessly as the vocals. You could just listen to this mix and forget the rest of the world even exists.

[Video] Futurecop!’s ‘Atlantis 1997’

FUTURECOP ATLANTIS 1997 feat. Cavaliers of Fun OFFICIAL VIDEO on Vimeo

We have extensively covered Futurecop!’s new single, Atlantis 1997, so don’t ask us to repeat ourselves, hit those links (the cliff-notes being; it features Cavaliers Of Fun’s Ricco Vitali on vocals and a quite decent retro ElectroPop).

Here’s the video, which is equally decent. Directed by Ariel Belziti is the perfect clip for this tune, with retro iconography and slick production. And who amongst us doesn’t love floating geometric shapes? Not us!

Futurecop!’s Atlantis 1997 is released 23rd March with reMixes from Lifelike, P.A.F.F, Kill Them With Colour and Uppermost.

[Audio] College’s ‘Révélation’

College

Révélation is the first track to break ground from Valerie head honcho and Dreamwave/SynthWave pioneer College. Yes, there’s actually a new College album on the way, because y’know, it’s not all about Drive. Heritage is released in April and, a few testers aside, Révélation is out première glimpse of what to expect from the new record.

Révélation definitely has a classic Valerie sound to it. A dreamier side to SynthWave we haven’t seen in a while, the haunting chimes and low rolling pads don;t really crop up in the genre these days where it’s all about driving fast, or whatever. Révélation goes a different route and reminds us what moods SynthWave originally crafted. Nostalgic, but fresh, this track carries you along with it’s pulsating bassline into it’s hazy clouds of ringing melodies. We’re very interested to discover what the album holds.

♫ College – Révélation

College’s Heritage is released 2nd April worldwide, but you can pick up the very limited edition white vinyl right now.

[MP3] Neptune Safari

Neptune Safari

We love it when surprises drop into the electronic rumors Inbox. Yesterday new Parisian Nu-disco producer Neptune Safari dropped by to show of his latest track. His début track too, and what a confident début it is. More polished and thoughtful than many releases in the Nu-Disco spectrum, with one track Neptune Safari has marked himself as one to watch.

Adeline Is In A Water Drop is a meaty title for a track, but befits the Smörgåsbord of laid back grooves presented here. Deep walking Disco bass and silky smooth synths wash through the track, accompanied by little starlight melodies, as Adeline Is In A Water Drop carries you away with it to more chilled, funkier, places. We’re very impressed by Neptune Safari’s premiere track.
