[Mixtape] Tensnake, Little Boots, Goldroom & Le Youth in Mixmag’s Lab

For today’s mixtape offering we’re presenting something a little different. Mixmag’s In The Lab videos on YouTube have been smashing it recently. You don’t have to sit there for an hour watching someone mixing (unless you really want to). Just stick them on your big TV and listen to them like you would any other mixtape, only now you get to occasionally glance across at the little DJ playing live in the corner of your room.

[Audio] Chromeo & Toro Y Moi’s ‘Come Alive’ reMixed by Le Youth

Chromeo and Toro Y Moi’s awesome new single Come Alive is barely out and the reMixes are starting to flood in. Luckily, at the forefront of the wave is LA Disco master Le Youth, himself gearing up for his new single release, Dance With Me. Expect big things when these two funky powerhouses meet.

Le Youth takes the track in a frantic old school House direction, with a hint of his Disco roots. This ones a peak time crate filler to whip the crown into a frenzy. Cut-up vocals form the original are liberally unleashed on rough synths and an infectious piano hook, which the whole combination riding over a classic 90s House beat, shuffling hi-hats and all. The reMix builds and builds, creating a hyper energy until the squelchy solo finale.

[Audio] Le Youth reMixes Foxes’ ‘Youth’

As we reported last week, one of ElectroPop songstress Foxes’ first tunes, Youth, is getting re-released, and as we can expect, it’s going to come with a loaded reMix package in a couple of months time. Included in that package is this slightly weird, but very cool, reMix from LA Disco producer Le Youth.

Le Youth pitched down the vocals, but not in a Chicago House way, in a was that oddly fits with what he’s done musically. Chopping and cutting the vocals over a deep Disco groove, Le Youth spins the track around with popping purcussion, sharp retro synths and an R&B swing. This is your new soundtrack for good times with good friends, even if the pitched down vocals are a tad unsettling at times.

[Mixtape] Le Youth’s new mixtape

Le Youth – Solé Fixtape Vol. 9 = Some smooth summer vibes now from LA Disco producer Le Youth and another tape from those bike people. I’m not sure if mixtapes and bikes go together particularly week, it’s starting to look like cheep advertising, but Le Youth’s tape rocks, just the thing to warm you up this winter, complete with tape flips too!

Le Youth’s new track

LA DiscoPop producer Le Youth has been quiet for quite a while now, but he’s definitely announcing he’s still around with his new track. Cool is the prefect way to hold on to the end of the summer.

Cool mixes up a Tropical sound with a rolling House beat and some smooth as silk, summery, vocals. Vocally speaking, Le Youth lifts the top-line from Cassie‘s Me and You and works it into his particular groove. feeling the sound of his hometown, Le Youth drops those perfect LA beats and poolside basslines to build up a sunshine vibe. This is probably the last of the summer’s great beach Disco track. Enjoy it while it lasts.
