Moustache Machine reMixes Justice

justice

Hey! I’m writing a post about Justice and Uffie! It’s like it’s 2007 all over again!

The reason for this blast from the (recent) past is one of our favourite up-and-coming producers, Moustache Machine, has reMixed Justice’s Uffie featuring track ‘Tthhee Ppaarrttyy’, giving it a modern retro gloss. All digital bass and stratospheric lead lines Moustach Machine has made the track fresh again.

Justice’s new album, ‘Audio, Video, Disco’ is out soon on Ed Banger.

Ace Attack

ace attack

Ace Attack is a French producer who had just dropped his first EP of Retro inspired Electro tunes.

Drawing from a range of modern Electro influences Ace Attack’s music spans everything from soaring Dreamwave solos to gritty Danger style bit-crushed riffs. But it’s the melodies and musicianship here that really impress, these are real instrumental pieces, the kind produced by Jarre, Hammer or Hancock. Imagine Jarre laying down an awesome melodic peice over Kavinsky dropping some rough Electro, that’s kinda’ close. Check it out:

Fabian X Reset!

fabian

We dropped our review of Fabian’ new single ‘Last Flight’ last month, so as the single is released this week we can treat you to the Electro rockin’ Reset! reMix.

The original is such smooth Dreamwave that the Reset! reMix really stands out in contrast. It’s totally a tune to drive the crowd mental, chopping up snatched of the original and throwing them into a pit of funky chainsaw synths. Guaranteed to get you moving..

Arnaud Rebotini covers ‘I Feel Love’

arnaud-rebotini

The Black Strobe man Arnaud Rebotini has just dropped this impressive cover of Donna Summer’s (well, Giorgio Moroder’s really) ‘I Feel Love’.

It’s an epic eight minutes of analog synth awesomeness. Everything from the drums to the instantly recognisable arpeggio is pitch perfect. This is no mere carbon copy, Rebotini makes it very much his own handling the vocals with use of a vocoder, but the vocals take a back seat throughout much of the track, the focus being more on a Rebotini knob twiddling Disco workout.

Oh, this was always going to be fun. Coupons & Show Your Shoe teaming up to interpret Jefferson Starship’s ‘Sara’.

Stripping the song right down and layering it with bouncy lead riffs and tons of synthesizer Funk this head on collision between two of the most exciting acts in Nu-Disco has produced a slick summer Disco jam with a side helping of keyboard wizardry. Put together by Coupons and Show Your Shoe sending ideas back and forth the team up’s end result is the one track you should be taking to the beach with you.

Toomy Disco & HiEM & Phil Oakey!

hiem

HiEM (Bozzwell and Nicco Eastwood)’s ‘2am’ featuring the vocals of The Human League’s Phil Oakey has been knocking around for a couple of years now, but was been given a new lease of life when Toomy Disco & Fernando were asked to reMix the track.

Washing the ElectroPop original with broad strokes of Disco, Toomy Disco & Fernando lay down a severe bass and guitar lick Funk that just seem to roll under Sir Phil’s vocals. Some nice big synth chords finish off the musical job layering the track think, only to be spaced out again with some vocal echo. This is a late night groover, fact.

Who Killed JR? reMix Heartsrevolution

heartsrevolution

We haven’t seen that many entries for Heartsrevolution’s ‘Teenage Teardrops’ competition yet but with this mix sent to us by South African producer Who Killed JR? the bar is set pretty high.

Completely changing the sound of the track, WKJR? French Touches things up to 11 and sprinkles on a little RoboPop. This track has it all, a funkin’ bassline, jump out of your seat chord stabs, vocoder action and when all wrapped up words really well with Heartsrevolution’s original. Good work  Who Killed JR?.

More new Lazerhawk

lazerhawk

Two new Lazerhawk tracks in one week!

‘Distant Signal 001’ seems to be a continuation of the ‘Visitors’ EP. It’s a track with an absolute killer digital synth bassline. Sci-fi pads lend atmosphere to this cosmic Dreamwave track. Lazerhawk remakes Powerglove’s ‘Hunters’

the-plague

There’s a moment in the Grindhouse movie Hobo With A Shotgun that introduces the badassery of two armoured demons/cyborgs know as The Plague. This murderous slaughter scene is soundtracked by a Powerglove track called ‘Hunters’.

‘Hunters’ has never been released (although the whole track is on one of the DVD extras for the movie) so Powerglove’s peer Lazerhawk has released his own version of the track into the wild. Lazerhawk’s take on ‘Hunters’ is just as intense as the original. Total John Carpenter-esque 80’s synth movie music with a dancefloor twist. Driving and powerful with a hint of horror, the digital bass and icy lead lines will keep you captivated.
