Lebatman’s new tune

Lebatman

Lebatman latest track is a Sci-Fi, Electro Disco slice of brilliance that is over far to quickly.

Deep, moody and atmospheric as a Sci-Fi animé cityscape yet with an added layer if funk aimed squarely at the dancefloor Lebatman brings in just over two minutes of edgy cyber-Disco brilliance.

Edwin Van Cleef’s new EP

Edwin-Van-Cleef

Edwin Van Cleef doesn’t release nearly enough music, it seems like years since his last EP, although maybe he takes his time to make things perfect, ‘cos his new EP, ‘Never Be Alone At Night’ completely nails it.

Hitting up Tom Gavin from Chicago’s awesome Gemini Club for vocals is an inspired move the title track is amazingly slick vocal Nu-Disco track that’s backed up by two more original tracks, ‘Triton’ a Tropical-Sci-Fi-Acid-Disco jam and the retro night drive that is ‘I Feel You’. the reMix talent that contributes to the EP is nothing to be scoffed at either. Blue Satellite deliver a beautiful mid-tempo chilled take on the title tune with loads of synthesizer soul with Ugly Kids bring us the straight-up good time Disco version that injects the EP with some added Funk. Pharao Black Magic take on ‘Triton’ and create a head on collision between Moog Funk and the track Acid roots.

All in all this EP is highly recommended.

Oliver reMixes Sneaky Sound System

sneakysoundsystem

Sneaky Sound System tore up the Roller Disco at Bestival this past weekend so it’s was nice to come home to this, a meeting of one of out favourite ElectroPop acts and one of out favourite Dreamwave double acts.

The two Olivers of Oliver give Sneaky Sound System’s new single ‘Big’ a Nu-Disco workout worthy of the tracks name. it’s big. Massive synth chords, a huge Electro-House riff and gargantuan drums. Yup, it’s all got a bit…er…bigger.

Last roundup of Fear Of Tigers’ Pippi reMix competition.

Tiger

As Fear Of Tigers’ ‘The Adventures Of Pippi Longstrump’ reMix competition draws to a close here is our sixth and final round up of some of the better entries we have missed so far.

Four entries today. First up Portugal’s Cut Slack sets the bar pretty high with a storming Nu-Disco mix that swaps the euphoric riff for some smooth licks. Follow Me’s galactic rock jam is a power drum workout with a growling bassline that only occasionally gives way to some sweet Disco. Collins does a pretty good job of updating the original with an ear for ‘80’s synthesizer melody with epic and uplifting production while Cuica submit a laid back, Flute infused, beach Disco take on the track.

Fabian’s début album

fabian

Yesterday saw the release of long time electronic rumors favourite Fabian’s début full length album hot of the back of the highly acclaimed ‘last Flight’ single and a storming reMix for The Magician’s new Kitsuné record.

The album, ‘Say Goodbye’ feels like a culmination of everything Fabian has learn in the past few years of solo productions, DJing, and as half of the founders of LexiconDon, during the emergence of Dreamwave and the LA ElectroPop scene. Alongside classic Fabian tunes like ‘Heatwave’, one of the tracks Dreamwave was built on and the latest single ‘Last Flight’ which has everyone in the know going crazy, ‘Say Goodbye’ hold a whole host of killer tunes that span Fabian’s range. From smooth ElectroPop to dancefloor shaking Electro to Funked up Disco tunes. The album is liberally sprinkled with shimmering synths, vocoders, and just about everything you want from and electronic album, there’s a track for every mood. Most of the time, though, your mood after slapping on this album will be ‘get up and dance’.

Cavaliers Of Fun’s new EP

Cavaliers Of Fun

It’s been a long time coming, but Ricco Vitali A.K.A., Cavaliers Of Fun, finally drops his first EP for ‘the ever-awesome Holographic People’ today.

When you see an EP title like ‘Sharing Space Secrets’ you know you’re in for a treat. The EP sees Vitali mixing up a number of cool, good weather styles in one big melting pot. There are hints of Electro-Indie, snatches of LA Dreamwave, a Nu-Disco groove, bits of Tropical and Balearic vibes, but overall I was quite surprised. I was expecting the kind of vintage synthed cosmic Disco I had come to expect from Cavalier’s Of Fun, what you get in this EP, though, is something more intimate, more musical, more akin to clash between East Coast Indie and West Coast Disco. This new found blending of Vitali’s sweeping vocals, Sci-Fi synthesizers and lilting Indie guitar really works in these five tracks and makes the EP a Summer must. I’m going to be reaching for the ‘Sharing Space Secrets’ EP everytime the weather gets good. Here’s our pick of the EP.

Starlings reMixed by The Sanfernando Sound

starlings

Whoa! Manchester SynthWave producer The Sanfernando Sound  gets positively EBM on his new reMix for Indie foursome Starlings.

His reMix of their new single ‘Dark Arts’ is an electronic powerhouse of the kind normally found blowing up dark German basement clubs. Layer upon layer of minor key arpeggios instil a sense of dancefloor doom with relentless drums an bass. What elevates this over the usual post-FuturePop EBM stuff is The Sanfernando Sound’s ear for the trappings of a quality Pop song. The big electro tom rolls, the occasional drops, and the flawless integration with the original vocals, it’s this attention to detail that make TSS’s production such a success. This is a dark and dangerous dancefloor monster.

The Magician’s ‘I Don’t Know What To Do’ EP

themagician

In exactly one months time The Magician unleashes his début solo single, ‘I Don’t Know What To Do’, on Kitsuné Music.

By now you’ve already heard the original track, featuring Jeppe on vocals. It’s got that hypnotic late ‘80’s House piano sound and Jeppe’s anthemic chant combine with thick, lush synths to make a track that will uplift dancefloors worldwide. the EP is chock full of awesomeness too, reMixes come correct from Plastic Plates, Second Date and our boy Fabian. Second Date bring some seriously deep Disco to the table with an almost sub bassline and beach guitar forming the basis for their brand of Disco, and unusual mix definitely. Plastic Plates always come through with the goods and here is no different. Synthetic Electro Disco loaded with my beloved electro toms. PP’s reMix has this slick jazzy synth lead that sets a really nice groove for the track. But it’s the man Fabian who really blows this EP up, starting his track understated with a smoothly building arpeggio that soon gives way to a massive LA Dreamwave track with a booty shaking Funk bass that moves your body while the thick synth chords send your brain to the stratosphere.
