Neo Disco Machine

Neo Disco Machine hails from the Russian Federation and has just dropped his first EP of disco flavoured SynthWave. For free!

The ‘Break The Ice’ EP contains four top quality slices of vintage synth fuelled electronic dancefloor sauce. For me the two standout tracks are ‘I’ve been Looking For You’, an Electro Disco tracks driven by a relentless arpeggio which adds in a little Disco and some nice vocal manipulation, and the title track, a dark Electro track which provides the backing for a space-age synth lead. Neo Disco Machine has compiled just the right amounts of Disco and Dreamwave in his music, which is a little more diverse than your standard SynthWave stuff and give him the edge to stand out from the crowd.

Fear Of Tigers’ ‘Pippi Longstrump’ reMix competition heats up.

tigers

Seconds out…round, er, what is it?, three?

Anyway, here’s out round up of some of the freshest entries in Fear Of Tigers’ ‘The Adventures Of Pippi Longstrump’ reMix competition. They’re coming in this and fast. Greek producer Kristine completely nails the 80’s teen movie vibe with her reMix. Heavy on electro toms and a wicked 80’s Pop guitar lick, Kristine has done something a little different here and stands out because of it. John Sawtooth goes for a real old school SynthPop sound with some amazing lead lines running throughout that really add a whole new level to the track. Lastly Melbourne’s Fighting Bison comes out swinging with a sweet ElectroPop mix with a little Disco flavour the leads into a earbending, soaring cosmic solo.

Keenhouse’s new EP

This September Disco/Funk/ElectroPop wizard Keenhouse released a brand new EP for Sunlinxx Records.

Keenhouse’s trademark had always been raw talent when his fingers meet the keys. A musician before a producer his ear for melody and riffs shines through in the four track ‘The Summer Society’ EP.  The four tracks give us a nice variety too. From the jazzed-up Nu-Disco of the title track and laid back beach Funk of  ‘Piu Electric’ to the Acid Tropical Cosmic Disco (yes!) of ‘Lost Constellation’ and the chilled ‘Homestill’ that eases you out of the EP with sweet tunes. Keenhouse releases are always welcome, sometimes it’s just nice to have someone playing keyboards at you.

Jordan F’s ‘Definitely Miami’ EP

jordanF

Sydney Dreamwave producer Jordan F is holed up on some sun kissed beach somewhere ‘hard at work’ on his début artist album.

In the meantime he’s put together a free EP for Rosso Corsa Records featuring re-mastered version of ‘Definitely Miami’ and ‘Outrun’, which we’ve featured a while back, and a new track, ‘Cupido’. As you probably know by now, Mr. F makes some of the finest Synthwave and Nu-Disco coming out of down under and these three tracks are all prefect examples of his power drums and sparkling 80’s-esque melodies. Grab some headphones, sit back, relax and let Jordan F take to to summers of the past.

Lost Years

lost years

Coming straight out of Miami Beach, er, Sweden, Lost Years have been steadily pumping out top quality retro synth tunes for the last few months.

Their latest, ‘Regrets V3’  features a nice mix of 80’s Electro Boogie and Jan Hammer-esque synth power chords. The track has a nice progression to it, building and building towards the end, layer lush synth sounds and those all important synth toms. This track is hot in every sense of the word.

Alpha Boy’s début album.

alpha boy

German Dreamwave producer Alpha Boy is finally ready to drop his début record, ‘Electronic Feelings’.

If you search electronic rumors for ‘Alpha Boy’ you’ll find quite a few of his tracks have been featured here, we’ve been a big supporter of Norman Knight’s take on retro synth music and most of those tracks we’ve featured appear on this collection alongside a few new tunes. From the album’s opener ‘Night Thunder’ you immediately get a sense of atmosphere from the tracks, Alpha Boy manages to keep his tunes dancey but also injects an emotional resonance into his music that whisks you away to wherever the subject matter of the tune is. Drawing from Dreamwave, Italo, 80’s instrumental Pop and ChipTune, Alpha Boy is about to drop 14 tracks that anybody into backward looking but forward sounding synth music should definitely seek out.

Com Truise’s ‘Datebar’

Com Truise

Com Truise is about to head out on tour with Active Child and Chad Valley (that’s quite a line up!). While he;s away he’s left us all with a track from his vaults, ‘Datebar’.

What we have here is the slickest of chill synth Funk. Crossing boundaries between cut-up Disco and night drive Synthwave, Mr. Truise does it again with his intricate programming and spartan production that’s like your best memories of summer in the 80’s.

Com Truise – Datebar

Com Truise’s album ‘Galactic Melt’ comes highly recommended.

Radio INK: ‘Rocket’, the reMixes

radio ink

Radio INK haven’t graced the pages of electronic rumors for a while now, but their new reMix package for the ‘Rocket’ single…oh my god!

I honestly don’t know where to begin, nine reMixes, all top quality. Let’s take a look at some of the best. Bit Funk kicks things off with one of his best to date, a deep bassed DiscoPop tune that works the best of Disco and Pop to their fullest. Moonchild rocks his synthesizer disco for an upbeat track that I believe samples Freeez’s ‘I.O.U.’, or contains a riff that sounds just like it. Neon Workout bring a more retro Dreamwave flavour to the package. The 80’s sounds in this Mix bring out a whole new side of the vocal track. Koobra (from Helsinki 78-82)’s sweeping SynthWave take on the track turns the tune into a retro ElectroPop epic with an instant classic lead line.

Kamp!’s new single and JBAG reMix

kampWe haven’t heard much from Polish SynthPop trio Kamp! single mid last year, but they make a storming return next month with a new single on none other than Discotexas!

‘Cairo’ is more smooth Dreamwave flavoured retro pop than ‘Hearts’, their smash of last year, although with that track you could hear that they were heading in this direction. Cool Disco guitar licks are added to their sound which ads a layer of Funk to the slick summery ElectroPop and the Spandau vocals. London’s ElectroPop DJ kings JBAG are on the mix for the single with a bouncy, pitch perfect, dancefloor ElectroPop track with an absolute killer bassline that you won’t be able to help yourself moving to.
