[Download] BeatauCue’s ‘Evola’

BeatauCue

Tempering their sound somewhat, French Electro-House duo BeatauCue are back in the game with a brand new forthcoming EP on Kitsuné Music. The Kyllan EP drops at the end of the month but before that BeatauCue are giving away this surprisingly Funky slice of pounding, warping Electro madness. Evola.

Whist calling to mind the blog fuelled Electro-House heyday of the late 2000s, Evola also folds a little Nu-Disco into the mix. With a deep ,warping bass growling it’s way throughout the track, Evola plays with Disco samples and starlight synths which somehow manage to find their way though the bass heavy groove. Peak time madness ensues.

[Download] Mild Peril’s ‘Excalibur’ EP

Mild Peril

London’s finest purveyor of Italo and Space Synth Mild Peril with a new three track EP is cosmic, electronic, voyages. Serving as a precursor to his forthoming second album, Excalibur delivers three tracks of what Mild Peril called “Mediaeval Synth”, and we’d call beautiful, funky, synthetic dreams. Strap in.

The EP’s title track serves up a platter of pounding Industrial beats and blissful vintage synths. The mixture of punchy sounds and hazy, sweeping keys that we’ve come to expect from Mild Peril is present and correct. Rich and emotive, Excalibur is just he first part of this journey, but one that completely enthrals over it’s seven minute length. As Excalibur  is a reworking of Sequence 1, Galatine re-treads ground covered by Sequence 2 sending it into strange magical places backed with a stomping EBM beat, peppering it with zippy synths and a bouncy European basslines, all leading up to a soaring and involving solo. First featuring on his Themes EP Mild Peril’s cover of the Game Of Thrones theme, Throne Of Swords, is given a dark ages danceable tweak with this new version, a track to surprise and delight seedy Italo dancefloors. We can’t recommend Mild Peril enough for serious synthesizer music fans.

Adeyhawke

Irish SynthWaver Adeyhawke is knocking them out these days! We’re still rocking to his recently released Kodachrome Sundae EP and his Happiness Cage side project; and he’s released another new track. This is Disco Idalium, and it’s a big one! Not only that, but it’s a free download. Get involved!

Disco Idalium is more of Adeyhawke’s bombastic, chopped up, retro Electro. The way Adeyhawke bring vintage 80s sounds straight to the big room is nothing short of genius. The tough beats and growling Electro is tempered with a slick, Top Of the Pops flavour, to create something that’s both fun and a dancefloor compulsion. But it’s Adeyhawke’s complex and funky-as-hell basslines that get us every time.

It’s not often we cover collections of Edits on these pages, the odd one or two here and there when they impress us, but collection we generally pass over (mainly because we get confused as to who gets the article image and purchase links!), but this new three tracker from London’s DiscoSocks definitely bears mentioning. These three new Edits from the man make up his just released Sock Drawer Secrets #3 EP which, as the title would suggest, is his third release of Edit secret weapons. All three are pretty stunning, here are our favourite two for the EP.

The Three Degrees are first up here with their Giorgio Moroder produced hit Giving Up, Giving In. The original’s fuzzy synth grove is easy fuel for an Edit and DiscoSocks runs with it, layering the funk over a solid House beat. Giving the track a whole new lease of life with a decidedly clubby pump and a new arrangement that suddenly delivers a more dancefloor oriented journey, DiscoSocks has managed to retain the original’s slick Saturday night flavour whist dragging it into 2014. Fire Fox’s 1985 single Round Trip Ticket is up next, in it’s inception a slick 80s Soul Pop jam, loaded with synth funk goodness. Ripe for the editing definitely. In this case DiscoSocks knows just what to bring to the fore and what to drop back, driving the B-Boy beat and synth stabs, along with the vocals, to headline the track making it sound as fresh as ever. Want some sure-fire tools for your crate? DiscoSocks has got you covered.

This week Fear Of Tigers launches his new website with some lovely new music for us. Who knows what occurring with Mr. Tigers long awaited sophomore album? But the man isn’t leaving us in the lurch while we wait with this steady drip of massive tunes. The curiously titled (although, Mr. Tigers have always been one for esoterically names tracks) I Am Dog is his latest.

Right from the opening bard of I Am Dog, with is shimmering, retro synths and hammerfall drums, you know your in for a frantic, big room, ride; and post drum fill, when the track kicks in, all your expectations are met. Ringing leads, shifting beats and an amped up 80s bassline power the tune along at high-octane speeds. the soulful vocal snatches and dreamy sax serve to temper the nervous energy of the track, smoothing everything out into an intricate dancefloor monster.

[Download] Dimitri From Paris reMixes Claude Nougaro’s ‘Nougayork’

Dimitri From Paris

The latest subject of French retro synth wizard Dimitri From Paris’ considerable reMixing skills is the late French crooner Claude Nougaro. Working over his most famous tune, Nougayork, Dimitri presents is here in both vocal and dub flavours. The dub version is a free download too.

This mix has everything we’ve come to love in Dimitri’s track all rolling into a frantic five minutes. It crazy full of Italo basslines and orchestral stabs that work alongside the tracks horns and guitar to deliver full-on 80s madness. Whether it should work with the vocals is debatable, but it’s undeniable that it does. The most authentically retro tracks of Dimitri’s to date, this one is pure 80s gold with the dub mix standing just as proudly.

aimes

Brooklyn’s AIMES seems determined to bring a little warmth and summery vibe to these cold winter months with his last few releases. The latest in his series of free singles is Time For Us, and like the others, shows off AIMES’ ability to perfectly blend influences from number of styles that are hot right now, and make them all sound personally unique.

“Vibe Huse” as AIMES calls it, presents us with a heady cocktail of Deep House and Tropical Disco, with just the tiniest hint of Chicago in the mix. A thundering beat provides the backbone for a dazzling array of swing fuelled synths. Blissful arpeggios chug along in the background while the tracks focus is taken by a demon bassline and some sweet island keys. Just sink into this one.

chris-malinchak

With Tropical vibes merging with the UK Deep House sound these days, it looks like we’re set for a summer of blissful, dreamy tunes. New York’s Disco don Chris Malinchak kicks things off with his new tune, Forever, which he’s dropping as a freebie ahead of the release of his next proper single. Malinchak surprised everyone last year with two UK chart topping singles, So Good To Me peaking at number two and it looks like he’s going to be continuing that trend into 2014.

Forever leans on subby basses to get a hypnotic club vibe going. Laying down an easy going House groove, Malinchak peppers the track with Tropical purcussion and infuses a drifting, soulful, vocal sample into a carefree beach party tune. Listen up peeps, this is the sound of the summer right here.

Fancy seven minutes of intricate and ecclectic Dance music? Well look no further, here’s a new one from Detroit producer BeatLoaf. We last saw BeatLoaf reMixing our very own beaumont’s Vampire, and he;s keeping up the good work with this genre spanning electronic epic.

Saint eases you in gently with warm tones and gradually evolving melodies. When the track kicks-in you’re treated to a symphony of meticulously crated rhythms, an appealing House bassline and undulating R&B vocals that work together to deliver an involving synthetic dream. Half dark and moody, half playful and carnival-like, Saint is both an interesting listening experience and a shuffling dancefloor mover. Good stuff.
