[Audio] Ben Macklin’s ‘Make Me Feel’ (+ Nude Disco reMix)

ben-macklin

Make Me Feel is the new single from Cassette Clubber Ben Macklin. Released this week the single features the vocal stylings of Rowan Arnold and comes equipped with reMixes from Tronik Youth, Nude Disco & Culture Culture. On your first listen you’ll instantly realise why Ben is one of our favourite British producers working right now. Check it out.

Neatly blending Tropical vibes and a slick retro SynthPop flavour, Make Me Feel is a nice mid-paced jam that would sit equally at home on by the poolside or on Top Of The Pops in 1986. With elements of Synth Soul, particularly in the bassline and vocals and an uplifting Island Disco chorus, it’s a track that will force a smile onto your face. Nude Disco ups the tempo a tad whist keeping the retro groove, injecting punchy snyths and an array sweeping club hooks. Covering everything from Italo to Nu-Disco via ElectroPop, the single package is strong as hell, you should definitely investigate.

[Download] JBAG reMixes Mjolnir’s ‘Just A Boy’

mjolnir

So, you know we love our Indonesian bros Mjolnir, and you know we love out London bros JBAG, so the combination of the two is an exciting prospect indeed. Out soon on, one half of JBAG, Jerry Bouthier’s Continental Records is Mjolnir’s new single, Just A Boy, and as a war up; here’s JBAG’s lush, summery, Dub mix of the track.

JBAG lay out the dancefloor side of the tune thick. An immense wall of Tropical sounds and deep Funk grooves. A tidal wave of sunshine beats and uplifting snyths that crashed over you. I defy anyone to not move, even a little bit to this one. Frankly, if you don’t find yourself shimmying to Just A Boy, you may want to consult with your Doctor about possible paralysis or the atrophy of your fun gland.

[Download] Emeron & Fox’s ‘Windup’

Emeron & Fox

After a few months hiatus Brooklyn based SynthWavers Emeron & Fox are back and getting their House groove on with their new tune Windup. Last time we heard from these guys was early last summer with Arms Out, so take a peek below and see whether they have been hard at work in the intervening months, or just mucking about.

Sounds like it’s the ‘working hard’ option. Windup effortlessly blends a myriad of styles into one funky whole. From the Disco bassline and SynthWave pads, to the Baroque Electro arpeggios, Windup is a bubbling melting pot of synth sounds. The spliced up vocal samples provide the ribbon that neatly ties the track together. Awesome, and slightly mysterious, work from this duo. Ends a but quick though.

BeatauCue

Tempering their sound somewhat, French Electro-House duo BeatauCue are back in the game with a brand new forthcoming EP on Kitsuné Music. The Kyllan EP drops at the end of the month but before that BeatauCue are giving away this surprisingly Funky slice of pounding, warping Electro madness. Evola.

Whist calling to mind the blog fuelled Electro-House heyday of the late 2000s, Evola also folds a little Nu-Disco into the mix. With a deep ,warping bass growling it’s way throughout the track, Evola plays with Disco samples and starlight synths which somehow manage to find their way though the bass heavy groove. Peak time madness ensues.

[Audio] Ronika’s ‘Shell Shocked’

Ronika

Our girl Ronika has finally announced her long long long awaited forthcoming début album. Spoiler alert: it’s awesome. We shouldn’t really say any more at this point, but it’s easily going to be one of the highlights of the year. It’s titled, Selectadisc, after the Notts record shop, and Ron’s giving you lot a taste of what’s to expect in the form of album track Shell Shocked. Check it out.

Shell Shocked is what Ronika does best. A slightly Disco-y blend of Pop and Electro Boogie that’s deceptively complex and insanely catchy. One of the emotional highs of the album, Shell Shocked delivers some spine tingling 80s Power Pop moments amid a sea of thick synth bassed vintage Funk. With the epicness of an 80s movie soundtrack and the street groove of Electro Soul, Shell Shocked is a fine primer for what’s to come. Believe us, this is the year Ron blows up.

[Download] Adeyhawke’s ‘Disco Idalium’

Adeyhawke

Irish SynthWaver Adeyhawke is knocking them out these days! We’re still rocking to his recently released Kodachrome Sundae EP and his Happiness Cage side project; and he’s released another new track. This is Disco Idalium, and it’s a big one! Not only that, but it’s a free download. Get involved!

Disco Idalium is more of Adeyhawke’s bombastic, chopped up, retro Electro. The way Adeyhawke bring vintage 80s sounds straight to the big room is nothing short of genius. The tough beats and growling Electro is tempered with a slick, Top Of the Pops flavour, to create something that’s both fun and a dancefloor compulsion. But it’s Adeyhawke’s complex and funky-as-hell basslines that get us every time.

[Video] Chela’s ‘Zero’

Chela ZERO YouTube

We’re quite fond of Australian singer Chela’s new single Zero. A blistering, but moody, summer jam that mixes ElectroPop with Tropical and comes with a chock-full reMix package featuring the likes of Keljet and Clancy. The track is out this week and has just got itself a shiny new video.

The clip, featuring more of Chela’s crazy dancing, has got a slick 90s feel and a tongue-in-cheek darkness.
