Prepare for a Chicago House perfect storm as the one and only Black Magic Disco serves up this heady reMix of the utterly prolific Ukrainian smooth Disco outfit Volta Cab’s new single Native Talk. The single is out at the end of the month and also features reMix work from JKtiv and the slick original.
Black Magic Disco goes deep and groove with this strobe light fuelled. Only the best in 909 beats, warm organs and pulsating basslines make the cut here. The drifting vocal sample adds an air of mystery to this funk-as-all-hell tune with a groove that will take you back in time to the early 90s and deliver to you a compulsion to mode your body. This one should be a crate essential for and House DJ.
♫ Volta Cab – Native Talk (Black Magic Disco reMix)
In celebration of hitting the 20,000 ‘likes’ mark on Facebook, Tesla Boy, Russia’s kings of ElectroPop have dropped a ton of new reMixes.
These additional mixes of ‘In Your Eyes’, the track the guys had featured on the last Kitsuné Maison compilation range from Taras 3000’s downtempo SynthPop to Lipelis’ jacking ‘90’s House takes on the track. The front runners would have to be Lipelis’ original reMix, which is like and Acid warehouse party in your headphones and Volta Cab’s smooth, laid back, Electro Funk. A solid groove and tons of soul.
Volta Cab who are, as you’ll know if you follow hum on SoundCloud, the hardest working act in Nu-Disco has turned his reMix attention to Modern Funk queen Amalia’s ‘All The Funk I Need’.
The resulting track is some of the dreamiest, chilled Disco you’ll hear all year. From the opening electric piano the tune just oozes cool, with some laidback slap bass and cosmic synths. Produced a few months ago as part of the Amalia reMix competition this track definitely deserves your attention if you missed it. Perfect for these breezy summer nights.
Following hot on the heels of Tesla Boy comes Russia’s latest Dreamwave hope, Volta Cab.
Owing just as much to Sci-Fi as it does to the 80’s, VC’s music is a fluid combination of retro electronics, Nu-Disco, ElectroPop and Chiptune. ‘Clarissa’ is a analog bass laden tune with sweet vocodered vocals that is so smooth it practically melts your speakers. ‘Stay With You’ is more of a driving number with 80’s rock samples throughout while ‘We Are Marsians’ is more typical Dreamwave fare but show the Volta Club really is top of his game.
