Dutch Disco producer Shook recently reMixed M.I.A.’s ‘Internet Connection’.
Shook brings some really nice cut-up Nu-Disco to the table as he drops awesome synth bass solos and Funk riffs. With some wicked key tinkling and nice Funk-Pop sensibilities it’s no wonder this track took The Hype Machine by storm.
Electro-House production team Super Mal are pimping their recent ‘Rock The Night’ EP even more by giving away this reMix by the ever awesome Diamond Cut.
You just have to love Diamond Cut’s productions. Just like a well cut diamond that are flawless. This is pure Nu-Disco/ElectroPop/Dreamwave brilliance with the energy and emotion of the best of them. Pule raising basslines sit effortlessly in the mix with shimmering retro synth chords to make this a real slice of euphoric modern nostalgia.
Been kickin’ back and waiting for this one for a while, turns out it was worth the wait!
Nicky Savage‘s band of LA based Dreamwavers Fiero, have teamed up with Nu-Disco producer digitalfoxglove to form the almighty, trans-Atlantic, Ride The Universe and their first offering for you is a reMix of German DiscoPop band Panda People’s ‘Sophisticated Girl’. I’ve been diggin’ Panda People ever since Nicky turned me onto them a while back but this reMix just ups the ante with some seriously huge analog bass and the sweetest pads this side of the 80’s. These guys are adding a little Funk into the Dreamwave sound and with reMixes of Fenech-Soler and the crazy exiting Futurecop! & Keenhouse collaboration in the works, this is defiantly a gang to keep an eye on.
Have you finished revelling in the awesomeness? Right, I’ll continue…
Hailing from Seoul, Korea, Cassette Schwarzenegger are labelmates with he hotly tipped StardonE and produce some of the smoothest DiscoPop we’ve heard in a while. Their new single, ‘Play’, is a pure party tune and accompanied by a wicked fun animated video by Studio Shelter.
Check it out:
We can present the single for you right here, along with a reMix be StardonE that really deserves your attention!
‘We Got The Love’ is the latest track from Frenchman Arnault Douze Esteve A.K.A. Douze.
A protégé of Kris Menace and collaborator of the one-and-only Alan Braxe, Douze creates an amazing amalgamation of French-Touch, Disco, ElectroPop and talk box Funk. This is the smoothest slice of Disco that has landed on the electronic rumors desk in a while and just when you’re getting into the groove with the body moving bassline and lush pads the track hits you with a devastating solo! Awesome stuff.
Remember that video we posted a while back with all the dogs? For Burns & Fred Falke pretty ace collaboration ‘Y.S.L.M. (you Stopped Loving Me)’?
Well, the single is now out, exclusively on Beatport, backed up with reMixes from Treasure Fingers, Linus Loves, and Rynecologist in an awesome reMix package. Ghost of Venice and Mix Chopin’ are celebrating the release by giving away their smooth French-Touch/Disco epic version of the single. Perfect for the long summer nights…pity it’s freezing outside!
I don’t know why, but we’ve never featured Ren Riz on electronic rumors, which strikes me as odd seeing as his recent ‘Swamp’ single was pretty awesome and got a lot of play here.
Anyway, the Australian producer is back in a team up with Jesus H Macy and a huge Janet Jackson sampling Disco tune. Seriously, this is the feel-good track of the week. Build around the vocal hook from Jacksons ‘When I Think Of You’ the guys have created a massive Nu-Disco monster with just the right amount of French Touch.
It’s pretty fair to say I’m a little obsessed with Bag Raiders’ ‘Way Back Home’, in fact their whole self-titled début album is a work of genius.
Considering I can’t get enough of the track new reMixes are always welcome. Enter Sydney man-of-mystery Universe who pulls the ElectroPop powerhouse of a track into Tropical, Cosmic Disco, territory. Turning the upbeat, almost anthemic, original into a lazy, hazy, summer jam with some rad percussive touches.
Today see the release of Canada’s finest sleazy DiscoPop duo AXXE ’s début ‘proper’ EP on Montreal house label Mile End Records.
Titled ‘Mainstream’ the EP is a collection of reMixes from their self released double A-side single ‘Hard Candy’/’S.A.T,.U.R.D.A.Y. Night’ that wend down so well with us early in the year. Featuring the skills of the likes of Worship, Neon Workout, Cavaliers Of Fun, Zakolski, Meroz and these two reMixes here. Dave Allison bring his appropriately named ‘Disco Dust Dub’ to the EP, which is, as it sounds, a deep Disco groove and a real 4am on the dancefloor track. Blond:ish & Stephen Hoffman reMix is altogether Techier, and is pure Big Room House goodness.
Here was have the latest offering from one of the UK’s most criminally underrated acts.
The Manchester/London ElectroPop duo of Futurecop! are currently gearing up for the release of their début long player (which those lucky Japanese can already get their hands on!) ‘It’s Forever, Kids’. The album is said to contain more ‘proper’ Pop songs, featuring guest vocalists, alongside their retro inspired Nu-Disco sound. Songs like ‘Venice Beach’ (co-produced by Worship), featuring Ricco Vitalio on vocals. Check the video for some California style ElectroPop goodness!
The track is an easy reminder of why Futurecop! are one of the UK’s top synth outfits and can effortlessly stand toe-to-toe with the very beat Dreamwave from France or LA. I just wish they’d release more!
There’s a couple of reMixes too, from two producers we’ve hyped up here at electronic rumors before. The one and only Frankie Barretso drops his track straight on the dancefloor with a massive Disco mix while France’s 4TrakZ more Electro take on the track still keeps it funky with a killer bassline.
