Dato’s new tracks

It’s been a while since we featured Denmark’s Dato, in the inbetween time the duo have got funkier as the Disco influence on their ElectroPop sound has become more prominent.

Their latest productions show a definite one-ness with the funk, whereas their earlier tracks were more ElectroPop based. ‘Hard To Find’ is reminiscant of early Dirty Vegas with haunting vocals over a strong House groove. ‘My Life Is Perfect Now’ sees them joined, once again, by Jannie Linnebæk for a slab bass and retro synth workout that is bordering on Dreamwave. Mixing up their chilled Danish ElectroPop with a Nu-Disco vibe a makes for a really interesting laid back take on both sounds.

autoKratz get reMixed by North Lights

London’s noisy ElectroPop kings autoKratz’s new single is pretty eagerly awaited round these parts, everything we hear from it is sounding awesome.

Like this reMix from North Lights, which is Junior Thibaut, ex-one third of Disco trio Perseus, who turn in an awesome Dreamwavey Nu-Disco take on the track. Pumping up both the Electro and the Pop aspects of the track with a big slice of Disco in the breakdown. This was actually the last track that Perseus, as a trio, produced together before going their separate ways. I’m sure we can expect great things from both Perseus (as it is now) and North Lights.

Gemini Club reMixes Chilly Gonzales

Chicago’s Gemini Club are going from strength to strength, their latest production, a reMix of Electro Piano-man Chilly Gonzales forthcoming single ‘You Can Dance’, is pure gold.

Taking on a Gonzales track must be pretty daunting, the mans ‘Ivory Tower’ album is an incredible piece of work, but Gemini Club have risen to the challenge in a laid back Disco style. Interweaving electric piano with synth burbling the trio make the track slightly more urgent and include the best drop and build I’ve heard all year that kicks back into a screaming synth solo.

Chilly Gonzales – You Can Dance (Gemini Club reMix)

‘You Can Dance’ will be available from 1st March with a reMix package including work from Robotaki, Max Tundra, Shadow Dancer, Edwin Van Cleef and Popular Computer.

Ren Riz’s new tune

We’ve got the latest jam  from Aussie Ren Riz right here.

This guys tunes keep getting better and better. With ‘Beside Me’ he flips into French-House mode, heavy on the Disco breaks and the filtering and rocks a really simple, but well used vocal sample. A couple of nice drops keeps the energy going as the track rolls over a running bassline. This tune deserves to tear up some dancefloors, I hope it gets the chance to soon.

Mr. Gonzo

Parisian producer Mr. Gonzo stopped by the electronic rumors Inbox to give us the lowdown on his recently released EP ‘Extended Play Area’.

He may be operating out of Paris but Mr. Gonzo was observed for the first time in 2010, around the giant elliptical galaxy M87. Which must be where his brand of laid back Cosmic Disco comes from. With some deep grooves and ear warping synths the lead track off the EP, ‘Magic Cherry’ is the kind of thing Buck Rodgers is getting’ down to in the 21st Century (obviously, not this 21st Century, y’know, the future 21st Century), and while we can only imagine what kind of Sci-Fi Disco goodness went goes on in the far future we can console ourselves with the fact that Mr. Gonzo’s slick Nu-Disco tunes are going to get our good old 2011 dancefloors moving.

‘Extended Play Area’ is out now and features three original tunes with support from reMixes by Quentin 909 and Playbic :

Sferro’s début EP

Sferro is the solo project of Eric Sferro, head honcho at Girlfriend Records, and he’s just let loose his début EP, for free.

The EP, ‘New Output’ contains 4 tracks of sweeping, 80’s soundtrack inspired, electronic epics. Leaning more toward the Valerie end of the Dreamwave spectrum, Sferro’s music is intricate and absorbing, as if written as a soundtrack to your like, personally. Analog synth lines ascend,  fall and intertwine over Old School Electro beats to create something pretty special that never fails to keep your musical interest.

‘New Output’ is another fine free release from Girlfriend Records.

Beastrack reMixes Captain Funk

French Disco-House producer of the moment Bestrack dropped a new reMix this week. Japanese reMix king Captain Funk’s ‘Peice Of You’ gets a massive French Touch going over at Bestrack’s multi-instrumentalist hands.

With big riffs, big beats and big funk this reMix is a proper Filter-House/ElectroPop head-on collision. It may be Sunday evening but this is powerful, uplifting stuff that will make you feel like the weekend’ll go on forever.

Polygon Palace’s ‘We Have A Visual’

Last month we dropped Human Life’s amazing reMix of Noisy ElectroPop duo Polygon Palace’s latest single ‘We Have A Visual’, now we can present the original version of the track and a reMix by the underrated Popskarr.

‘We Have A visual’ is a slice of organised Indie-Electro chaos, if you’re only used to the Human Life reMix you’ll be surprised at how gritty it is. That rawness is part of it’s charm though. Of the two promo photos that Polygon Palace sent us I chose to use this live shot ‘cos that how the music sounds, live and exiting. i wouldn’t go so far as to say punky, but their brand of ElectroPop has a bit more balls than your usual clean, superproduced, tunes. Popskarr (who produced an excellent reMix for Short Circuit’s Let Go’) turns in a deep DiscoPop track with a hypnotic bassline countered with some of the sparkliest of sparkling sytnhs and somehow manages to tame the beast that is Polygon Palace.

Ride The Universe take RüFüS to smooth new places

OK, so what do you get when you cross the organic, chilled Indie-SynthPop of RüFüS (who we introduced you to a couple of days ago) and the slick sounds of Dreamwave/Nu-Disco supergroup (Yes, I said “supergroup”! Live with it) Ride The Universe?

A rad slice of brain-meltingly smooth Disco, that’s what!

Ride The Universe is, of course, a collaboration between talented German producer digitalfoxglove and LA party starters Fiero, and what they have dropped here is the kind of tune that makes babies. Seriously, the DJ drops this tune, you grab a hot girl (or guy), and you aren’t going home alone! The bassline alone, with a killer well placed slide is enough to get you moving…

RüFüS – We Left (Ride The Universe reMix)

Cannot wait for more of RTU’s cosmic goodness.

RüFüS’s self-titled début EP is out now on their own label, Monekeleon, and later in the year we’ll see On The Fruit Records release ‘We Left’ with reMixes from SymbolOne, Go Go Bizkitt!, Broke One, Beaumont, Springflower, Monsieur Adi as well as Ride the Universe!

Oliver

A month or so ago I completely missed out on posting a couple of tracks by Oliver, they just slipped though the net and I never got round to it. Which is a pity as they were on my mp3 player pretty heavily. This week they dropped a couple of new reMixes, that allows me the opportunity to make up for it.

The two Olivers in Oliver are Vaughn Oliver (U-Tern) and Oliver Goldstein (Oligee), awesome producers and reMixers in their own rights, who have teamed up to drop some funky Nu-Disco on the masses. Their first new tracks, ‘All Night’ and ‘Walk With Me’ , boast the most powerful of power 80’s synth chords atop some slammin’ Disco grooves. ‘All Night’, particularly, is like Filter House and Dreamwave wrestling naked in jelly while ‘Walk With Me’ is slightly more cinematic, in the sense that you can’t listen to it without imagining a bunch of kids dancing in the street in legwarmers.

Oliver – All Night

Oliver – Walk With Me

This week Oliver let loose two reMixes. The first, of  Dance-Pop act Black Cards’ new single ‘Dominoes’ is pure Robo-Disco, as if Kraftwerk made Nu-Disco while playing Nintendo and their truly epic reMix of Chromeo’s forthcoming ‘Hot Mess’ single, which is spine-tinglingly good and has a power riff that has to be heard to be believed.

Black Cards – Dominoes (Oliver reMix)

Chromeo –  Hot Mess (Oliver reMix)

You should head on over to Oliver’s Facebook page right now and show them some love by hitting the ‘Like’ button!
