[Download] Crayon reMixes Jupiter’s ‘Juicy Lucy (Needs A Boogieman)’

Jupiter

French producer Crayon is at it again. The mast two years have been pretty meteoric for this guy; and he’s continuing his rise to the top with this blissful reMix of Parisian DiscoPoppers Jupiter’s Juicy Lucy (Needs A Boogieman), from their début album of the same (or similar, anyway) name. Jupiter tracks seem to be like busses, you wait ages; then two come along at once.

Crayon does the laid back Disco thing on this mix, bringing the relaxed synth Funk and slo-mo House vibes together, and reeling in the tempo to the point where Amélie’s vocals need to be pitched down, pretty extremely. It all works though, Crayon turns-in an incredibly smooth tune, loaded with thick synths and finger-snapping beats.

[Download] Alison Valentine’s ‘Curious’ reMixed by Chrome Sparks

alison-valentine

Today is pretty much Alison Valentine’s day, so we’ll leave you with her latest tune. It’s a reMix of her recent Chrome Canyon produced single, Curious, from fellow Brooklyn resident Chrome Sparks; who gets his Disco groove on and pumps up the bass,

With a real vintage approach, Chrome Sparks wades deep in analog synth warbles and galactic Sci-Fi sounds while keeping it warm and groove. Ally V’s vocals sweep through the track, gliding over rich Disco beats and an enigmatic bass. Those retro synths really get going when it comes to solo time, sparing to stratospheric heights and playing against Ally’s grounded voice. Sweet stuff.

Alison Valentine’s Curious is available to download now on her own label (and, apparently, florist) 11 x 11.

[Download] Lovestarrs’ ‘Stupid Cupid’

Lovestarrs

It’s only been a matter of days since the amazing The Good Natured burst back into our lives, rebranded as Lovestarrs, with their début single, Get Your Sexy On. Now, in time for Valentine’s Day, they deliver this new song, for free no less, the fitting Stupid Cupid.

Yet another glimpse of what to expect from Lovestarrs in the future, this shimmering slice of 80s Pop come complete with a slap bass that would be right at home on Top Of The Pops that plays against big power ballad drums. The whole thing doesn’t sound trite though, it sounds like a festival grade Indie anthem; with Sarah’s vocals showing off that cutting, dark, wit that we love her for. SynthPop haven.

Lovestarrs – Stupid Cupid

Lovestarrs’ Get Your Sexy On is released 31st March.

Here’s a sparking slice of French Pop courtesy of our favourite Parisians Jupiter. The DiscoPop duo have delivered this cover of Oh! J’Cours Tout Seul, a track from 1979 by French songwriter William Sheller. Jupiter obviously love the song, as this cover version is made with pure love, pure synthesizer love.

The bass warbles, the synths stab, and the vocals are eminently enjoyable whether you speak French or not. A rich vintage feel permeates every note of this track, Jupiter’s version of Oh! J’Cours Tout Seul just oozes a sexy cool. With a little Disco guitar in the background to give it a slinky groove, this is one hell of a retro electronic wonder.

[Audio] Arc Neon’s ‘Technicolor Workout’

Arc neon

Technicolor Workout is taken from London SynthWaver Arc Neon’s just released new EP of the same name. Arc Neon has always been one of the standout artists in the genre for us, innovative and detail oriented with an authentic, but not copycat, sound. The new EP is a little too liberally sprinkled with rockin’ guitar for our tastes really, some may dig it, but we prefer our 80s inspired electronic music untainted. the title track, however, is a tour de force in British 80s Pop music.

Featuring the vocal stylings of Abbey Bretts, Technicolor Workout burst out of the speakers sounding like it should have been on Top Of The Pops circa 1984. The sweet vocal over popping and squealing synth leads lends the track a smooth energy. Upbeat, but not frantic, it’s a silky but dynamic tune who’s electro tom roll laden drums are pure vintage class. This one’ll have you itching to dance,

new-arcades-band-shot_thumb

Here’s the latest tune from London based DreamPop duo New Arcades. It’s part of the Scenes EP. which is due for release later this month via. Futurecop!’s new record label We Are the Future Records. The track’s called Don’t Let Go, and this rousing slice of ElectroPop features Chloe Pamplin on backup vocals.

Continuing from where their self titled début EP let off, Don’t Let Go is an epic cacophony of shimmering synths and driving beats and anthemic vocals. It’s got the New Arcades rawness to it that sets them apart from the pack, and live sounding Indie production for richly layered SynthPop, the combination which drew us to them in the first place. Big stuff, we can’t wait for the EP.

[Download] Shindu covers Pixies’ ‘Gouge Away’

shindu

Belgian ElectroPoppers Shindu has put together this blistering cover version of Indie legends Pixies Gouge Away. Those amongst you who are sceptical about how Pixies frantic, wall-of-sound guitar music translates into SynthPop really need to hear this. This is how you make a track your own.

It’s the bass that really makes this tune what it is, synth heavy but keeping it raw, Shindu centre the track on a driving bassline that flows to the progression of the original. Even singer Chibi’s voice takes on an edgy quality here, doing justice to the song itself. We can imagine this song is killer live, the rising electronic tones and gritty riffs easily doing the job of droning guitars whilst injecting the track with a little Funk too.
