Fabian Vs. Touch Tone

Fabian Vs. Touch Tone

The change of name seems to have invigorated Touch Tone’s musical output. His début (as Touch Tone) release, Home Away From Home, took everyone by surprise, turning out to be one of the best single of the year and inspiring multiple awesome reMixes. Never one to rest, Mr. Verner has now teamed up with fellow Binary producer, crafter on one of the best Nu-Disco albums in recent years and one part of LexiconDon, Fabian, to drop the massive Soleil Rouge.

If the track needs any explaining, here it is in their own words: “an instrumental soundtrack for the dance floor of a post apocalyptic night club full of neon wearing computer geeks and cyber punks”. Have Fabian and Andrew started frequenting Goth clubs? I’m not sure if this is the usual Industrial hammering that Hollywood would have us believe all clubs will play in the dystopian future, frankly I prefer the Fabian Vs. Touch Tone take on the situation. Soleil Rouge is a huge track with a lead line that stick in your head like glue and some stratospheric soloing. Two of the best producers on the West Coast coming together for tunes like this should happen more often.

Shelby Grey’s new single, with Goldroom and Moonchild

shelby1

‘The ever-awesome Holographic People’ are back with a brand new release, which is always something to get excited about. This new single sees the Shelby Grey back in the spotlight. Taken from his awesome The Music Is On His Side album and featuring Cavaliers Of Fun’s Ricco Vitali on vocals. Shelby is dropping an amazing reMix package for Wild Youth.

First up there’s an updated version of the track, more focused on rhythm and riff and extended for your DJing pleasure. Wild Youth is a feel good summer anthem, bursting at the seams with good vibes, it;s a real party starter. Built on an infections piano riff and sparking synths. Vitali’s vocals will be in your head all day too. The reMix package is pure killer, alongside work from Pedro Pantera we find Goldroom, who delivers a surprisingly big reMix, casting aside his usual laid back beach party style, here Goldroom layers the tune with big room riffs and shows he can handle them with ease. Goldroom effortlessly turns the tune into peak-time floorfiller. Moonchild brings the chilled Disco element to table with a bass heavy groove and furiously funky licks. Moonchild turns in the late night jam version of the track. It’s an awesome single package and one that should definitely be checked out.

Arcade High’s ‘On The Edge Of Summer’

Arcade High

Late last month we reviewed Pittsburgh SynthWave producer Arcade High’s début album The Art Of Youth and was very impressed. The man must be a workaholic, the album is only just out and he’s already dropping new tunes.

On The Edge Of Summer picks up the pace and injects some feel good vibes into Arcade Highs work. Just from the title you can infer what to expect here. Sunshine nostalgia in synthesizer form, this is a track with a slight Dreamwave feel to it and a carefree attitude that come across in playful melodies and a smooth, laid back, rhythm section. Stick this track on, lie back, and relax.

Anoraak reMixed by Les Loups

Anoraak

Yesterday we unveiled a brand new track from French Valerie staple Anoraak, Made-Up. Well the band have already dropped a reMix of the track, just a day later. Leading us to believe this isn’t just to promote their US tour with College and Electric Youth. and a new single is in the works.

The reMix comes from German Nu-Disco outfit Les Loups, who take the summery Indie-Electro of Made-Up and drag it kicking and screaming straight to the dancefloor. I say kicking and screaming because amongst the squelchy synths, lush pads and shuffling Electro beats the song still holds on to it’s Indie guitars will all it’s might. The result being the best of both worlds. There something about this Indie-Dance track that makes us nostalgic for 2007.

High PKWY’s ‘Phoenix’

High PKWY

This is some seriously laid back electronic Disco grooves in the form of the new tune from Denver’s High PKWY. If you like your Disco slightly Chilly, your SynthWave slightly hazy and your real life slightly soft focus then this tunes for you.

Like a melting pot of all the waves, Phoenix incorporates the beats and textures of Chillwave, the retro roboticness of SynthWave and dreamy nostalgia of Dreamwave. Wrap that up with some Disco strings, off in the middle distance, and you’ve got the perfect Friday chill-out tune, with complex layers of synthesizers and electronic percussion enough to hold the fascination of any electronic music fan.

The Frost’s new tunes

The Frost

Russian Nu-Disco producer The Frost has graced these pages a couple of times now, we’ve really been diggin’ his commination of Disco, House and vintage sounds. He’s just dropped three, yes three, brand new tracks. Just like that, no EP, so single, just three new tunes to get your ears around. It’s like a Disco treat.

So what’s new? Well, of the tree new tracks, two of the are vocal, and amazing, and the other one is instrumental, and amazing. Night Driving is the vox-less tune, but what it lacks in voice, it makes up for in richness. Layers upon layers of lush synths build a retro sound over a solid Disco backing. Despite the heavy rhythm section, it’s quite a light and airy tune, bringing the Dreamwave to the Nu-Disco. Perfecto Love (You Will Die) kicks off with a pulsating electronic groove before evolving into something quite unique. It’s Disco and House, but with an almost Celtic flavour. The piercing synths and ethereal vocals from Elenitia give it a quality not heard a lot in Dance music, arrangement wise it;s almost a Rock track, made with synths. Dancey as hell though. Sexy Frictions brings the Electro groove back, once again with Elenitia on vocals, this one is a big euphoric tune. Keeping a tiny bit of Perfecto Love’s ethereal quality, this track applies it to some straight up modern Electro Boogie. Punchy beats and flying digital synth riffs make this tune a total jump up track.

Moon Boots’ ‘Running From’

Moon Boots

Hot on the heels (we really have to find out where that saying comes from!) of his amazing and massively hyped reMix of Little Boots’ Headphones, American Disco don Moon Boots is back with a brand new tune to brighten up your day. Get ready, ‘cos this is a big summer one, just warning you.

You might have heard this tune if you have got your ears round the Kitsuné Soleil mix album, but here it is in all it’s glory. Featuring vocals stylings from Violetness, Running From is is big thick vocal Disco tune that gets you into a solid groove in the verses, you’re nodding along thinking ‘yeah, this is some good shit’. It doesn’t prepare you , though, for the huge summery chorus. When the choruses big vintage synths drop it’s like the whole track swoops in from some funky place and carries you off with it. Big Disco bass, lush nostalgic synths, and a vocal that works really well. This one’s got it all.

80s Stallone’s ‘Radioactive’

80s Stallone

One of the UK finest purveyors of all things Synth and Dreamwave 80s Stallone has premiered a new track, or new demo., of blissed out, summery, retro sounds.

Radioactive, is the kind of track that washes over you like waves of a deserted shore. the reverb washed arpeggios that weave in and out of this track make for a beautiful, almost otherworldly, sound. A simple, yet infectious bassline grounds the track allowing loads of room for the rich synthetic textures to paint a sonic picture. The way the arpeggios play with the bassline give the tune a nice rhythm. this is as beachy and laid back as SynthWave gets. Enjoy!”

Met Mitchell

Met Mitchell

Dutch SynthWaver Met Mitchell is one have of production duo Legan And Met, who we’ve featured here a once or twice. He’s just dropped a couple of new solo tunes that show his journey into vintage synth music is about to go to the next level.

Folding in a little ChipTune into his SynthWave, Met’s Echoes Like Shadows is a synthetic journey through retro sounds. Taking the soundtrack feel and emotional resonance from SynthWave and the video game sounds of ChipTune and combining them with a solid Italo groove makes for a pretty sweet track. A rich listening experience, Echoes Like Shadows is an impressive solo début. It’s follow up, En Route, is a slightly smoother affair, the synths are still buzzing and piercing, but the overall mood is more relaxed. This pensive track weaves along under a beautiful lead line, using lush synth sounds to thoughtful effect.
