The return of Lé Lé

le le

MC Faberyayo, Designer Piet Parra and on of our favourite electronic musicians Rimer London are back together as Lé Lé after a couple of years working on separate projects.

They’ve just dropped the first single from their forthcoming new album. It’s called ‘Neen’ and an infectious Dutch slice of bouncy bass. Both the bassline and the melody of ‘Neen’ will work their way into your brain until you’ll be humming them all day!

Lé Lé’s new album is due out later this year on Magnetron Music.

Jupiter reMixes Blackjoy

blackjoy

Parisian ElectroPop duo Jupiter recently announced their intentions for 2012 including a new single and their début album, all to be preceded by a string of reMixes.

The first of which is this Poppy rework of Blackjoy’s 2008 Disco funker ‘Mercurian’ Jupiter have set themselves a high bar, which loads up the original with rounded synth bass and particularly French little riffs. This awesome chunk of synthesizer Disco bodes well for Jupiter’s 2012.

Todd Terje’s new EP

Todd Terje

Todd Terje’s ‘Inspector Norse’, from his forthcoming new EP  ‘It’s The Arps’, is already being hailed by some as the track of 2012.

The EP drops mid-January and the lead track is a Moroderfied synthetic Disco monster. Bouncy digital Italo bass, some amazing electro tom action and groovy little melodies all combine to create an awesome feel good  track that you can help but move to. The EP sounds like it’s gonna’ be a must buy.

She’s The Queen reMixed by Lightwaves

She's The Queen

Fresh from walking home with the big one at the electronic rumors awards ElectroPop duo She’s The Queen have dropped a brand new reMix of ‘The Way’ by  Lightwaves (Jan from Yes Giantess!).

Jan has taken the soulful Pop track and turned it into an Ibiza monster that would make Ministry Of Sound proud. Straight to the big room, the reMix balances Nu-Disco with a Balearic euphoria and some nice Electro inserts. Despite the vocal manipulation Lightwaves has managed to keep the feel of the track intact, but give it a new lease of superclub life. With the right push this tune could be storming the clubs this summer,

She’s The Queen – The Way (Lightwaves reMix)

She’s The Queen self-titled début EP is out now.

We Are Russians!

WeAreRussians

We just commented last week about how much good stuff there is coming out of Russia these days, and to prove it website/label/community WeAreRussians have released a free compilation of Russian electronic artists.

The whole eighteen track album is top quality, practically every track is a winner and whilst the collection keeps quite a retro synth feel is spans quite a few styles. Lovinsky, represented here both alone and partnered with Quasars and Sohight are all artists we’ve featured before, highlighting their slick Dreamwave and Nu-Disco sounds and they sit on the album alongside new-to-us acts like Ziroberto and Valotihkuu who bring a more Funky side and some soundtrack atmospheres respectively. From these SynthWave sounds to epic Electro-House and introspective Indie-Electro WeAreRussians volume one just reinforces out opinion that Russia is definitely one of the places to look to for the next big synth acts.

Lovinsky – Dreamcatcher

Quasars And Lovinsky – Made In The 80’s

Sohight – Boys (Original Mix)

Ziroberto – The Future

Valotihkuu – Travelling

You can download the whole album on WeAreRussians’ SoundCloud.

Kolombo reworks Madonna

42-16914729

Belgian producer Kolombo has worked his synth Disco magic on one my favourite Madonna tunes, ‘Into The Groove’.

This is everything an edit should be, Kolombo has chopped up the track and put it back together with the dancefloor in mind, dragging the synth bass to the forefront and bringing some nice retro synths with him. Frankly, this is kinda’ going to become the definitive version of the track.

Escort’s Pound Sterling reMix

escort

Massive Brooklyn based Disco orchestra Escort will release their début LP (currently out digitally) on CD and vinyl at the end of January.

To commemorate the occasion they have dropped a new reMix of ‘Why Oh Why’. The Pound Sterling mix is quite a complicated beast. Keeping the Disco groove of the original it also moves the track into more  retro Electro territory with some amazingly catchy Italo elements mixing with bit of ‘80’s Pop and Adeline Michèle’s big diva vocals. A top reMix from a top album.

Escort – Why Oh Why (Pound Sterling reMix)

Escort’s self-titled début is out now digitally and 31st January on CD and Vinyl.

Cassius & Show Your Shoe

Cassius

Our favourite Swiss Disco genius Show Your Shoe has worked his complex funky magic on Cassius’ ‘The Sound Of Violence’.

There’s so much funk in this reMix it’s bursting at the seems. Intricate tropical beats provide the groove for some big squelchy Moog bass and layers and layers of Disco madness to ride over. Untamed dancefloor madness!”
