Plastic Plates’ new tune

Plastic Plates

Plastic Plates, fresh from his reMix of The Human League’s ‘Sky’ being placed in our 2011 Reader’s Choice Award, has dropped a new tune, packed full of Electro Boogie.

‘Toys’ is a really nice, epic seven minutes, of synthesizer disco with an ‘80’s Electro Funk bassline. It’s quite a trick to craft a seven minute track that doesn’t drag, but ‘Toys’ is all killer. Transcending any single dance music genre there is a big of House, a bit of Disco, a bit of B-Boy Electro and the whole thing is dancefloor gold. That bassline is so infectious, it will be with me all week.

PNAU’s new ‘Unite Us’ package

PNAU

PNAU’s anthemic ElectroPop single ‘Unite Us’ gets a brand new reMix package next month courtesy of Ministry Of Sound. The infectious summer soon-to-be-hit is backed with a whole host of awesome versions.

We’ve got to mention Kris Menace’s reMix first, the french Touch master works his magic on the track and brings out everything epic about it. The track is quite stripped down for a Menace track, but it is just right in all the right places. Those looking for something a bit harder on the dancefloor should check out Tommy Trash’s Electro-House juggernaut. The rest of the reMixes come in flavours ranging from Euphoric to Dubstep from names like Wideboys, Douster & Savage Skulls and Wookie. Looks like, in one form or another, you’ll be hearing a lot of this throughout the warmer months.

Vincent Did It

Vincent Did It. Vincent did what?, Well, Vincent did Frankmusik for a while, now he’s doing this thing that sounds like Frankmusik but isn’t. (Hopefully this means a move away from the Cherrytree bland factory)

Here’s the video for the new single, ‘So You’re Alive’, and it;’s pretty damn catchy.

I Am Noxious’ new single

iamnoxious

It’s been ages since we’ve heard from Bedroom Pop artist I Am Noxious, like seriously years.

But he;s back with a new single, a re-recorded and produced track you may have heard before (we first posted it about this time last year). The new production and professional polish has, thankfully, not stripped Mr. T of his quirky introspective sound. ‘Stranded On Love’ is a cute, catchy tune that sounds pretty slick whist keeping to I Am Noxious’s Bedroom Pop roots. Despite the undercurrent of melancholy, I Am Noxious’ tracks always manage to cheer us up, so ‘Stranded On Love’ is a welcome start to a long week.

Francophilippe’ new album

Francophilippe

Champagne Records bare back with another awesome, and free, release. Newcastle Nu-Disco producer Francophilippe delivers a whole album of funked up cuts.

‘Fonkophile’ is a collection of his works to date and perfectly shows off his slick Disco sound. The album contains 14 tracks and each one displays Francophilippe talent for combining the traditional smooth Nu-Disco sound with the kind of chopped-up Ed Banger-esque French Electro of SebastiAn. ‘Fonkophile’ is a pretty prolific collection of two years work, if I had one tiny, tiny complaint it’s that Francophilippe can occasionally be heavy handed with his Sidechaining, going beyond the desired effect and sounding like the track is being dunked in and out of a swimming pool, but that’s just nit-picking really. All-in-all ‘Fonkophile’ is an awesome release.

Monsieur Adi reMixes Justice

justice

Thankfully, despite Justice’s new album, ‘Audio, Video, Disco’, being disappointing and more than a little bland there is still a wealth of material that is just ripe for reMixing, and we can think of no-one better than Monsieur Adi for the job.

Adi injects the tune with his trademark bombast , slowly building and layering in what could almost be described as deep Electro Gospel which beats the original’s Prog Rock hands down. Strangely, Adi’s French Touch and Strings approach seems to capture the feel of the track better than the original ever did.

Final DJs’ ‘One Day In The Sun’

finaldjs

Well, finally. Someone has snapped up Germany’s Final DJs for a proper release, luckily it was Franck at On The Fruit, so we can expect great things.

Their début single will be released soon, in the meantime check out their new track ‘One Day In The Sun’ which sees the usually SynthWave Final DJs getting their Disco Funk on with wicked little Disco licks and a bouncy bassline. they don’t leave the SynthWave completely behind though, as you’ll hear when the skyrocketing solo kicks in. Can’t wait for the single.
