[MP3] Justin Faust’s ‘La Fête’

justin_faust

It feels like ages since we’ve had a new original tune from German Disco king Justin Faust, the man has been busy producing some of the best reMixes of the past year, but we do love it when an original comes along. Apparently this is a tune that Mr. Faust has been playing out for a while, so it’s a tried and tested track that JF and Discotexas are giving us for free.

If you’re looking for a big Disco part tune, then look no further. La Fête revolves around sumptuous horns and a swirling vocals hook for a beach party groove with an otherworldly twist provided by some Cosmic keys. The lead riff has got an almost arabesque feel to it too, again adding to the magical vibe. Underneath it all though, is just a full-on party starter.

[Audio] TEEEL’s new tune

TEEEL

It a new tune from our favourite New jersey based SynthWaver TEEEL! This new tune, Imperial, is only available on Mannequin Records’ new compilation album, The End Of Civilization. The release is available digitally, or on limited edition vinyl, TEEEL’s track is worth the price alone.

Imperial is a big, sweeping, SynthPop tune with all the power of a Sci-Fi epic. Keeping with the Brooklyn Lo-Fi SynthWave sound, TEEEL expertly crafts a blanket of lush analog sounds, fresh with pulsating bass and shimmering leads. TEEEL’s epic, anthemic song flows perfectly over the top and culminates in a gritty, but utterly soulful, synthetic love song.

[Audio] Compuphonic’s ‘Sunset’ reMixes’

Compuphonic

Last summer Belgian producer Compuphonic released the Marques Toliver featuring Sunset. It’s a solid Deep House tune, but feels a little uninspired, a bit by-the-numbers if you will. Have no fear though, out this weeks is a pretty classy reMix collection that more than makes up for things Aeroplane, Waze & Odyssey, Aashton & Swift, David Keno, Fabio Giannelli & LPXZ all take their turn to deliver their version of the tune, sweeping up those smooth R&B vocals and making them something new. here’s out picks of the EP.

Aeroplane’s mix is probably the EP’s highlight, whipping up the track into a huge DiscoPop monster. With keys from a 70s cop show and plucked strings straight out of an 80s music video, Aeroplane makes everything bright and shiny. There’s hints of mid-80s Jean-Michelle Jarre in there, set to a stomping beat, and a big retro Pop sheen as Vito serves up one of the best Pop tracks of the year so far. Aashton & Swift take the track in the opposite direction, showing how deep Piano House should be done. Moody and exotic, with just the right amount of 90s House groove. The duo mange to combine a deep, deep, vibe with a light breezy track to create something that is both compellingly danceable, but fun too. Waze & Odyssey, on the other hand, turn in an undulating warehouse sound, loaded with bleeps and bass that makes us all nostalgic. The introduction of a slick organ riff compounds the track, bringing everything together for an intoxicating dancefloor experience. all-in-all it’s a sweet reMix collection that let’s the song shine the way it should have been allowed to all along.

[Audio] The Elriks’ ‘I Am Who I Am’

The Elriks

The latest release on La Belle Records comes courtesy of French Electro duo The Elriks, whose I Am Who I Am EP delivers four tracks of grinding, yet melodic Electro-House with a Deep and Disco twist. Like an onslaught of (soon-to-be) robotic overlords, these four tracks manage to merge the mechanical and funky for a powerful experience.

The lead track, I Am Who I Am, is a bit reminiscent of old Simian Mobile Disco. it’s chainsaw synth bass seems like a strange companion for groovy horn samples, but these guys make it work. APZee’s vocals just add to the tracks abrasive infectiousness. Our favourite track off of the EP, though, is Like A Robot. The Elriks reign things in a little on this tune, producing something a little deeper, a little more atmospheric, and a little more dancefloor friendly. A hypnotic track with a low, low bass that gets under you skin before the BladeRunner lead enters the picture. Proper Sci-Fi House.

[Audio] Shook reMixes Ghost Beach

Ghost Beach

This almost slipped past us. Late last week Crazy Heart Records unveiled the new reMix of New York DiscoPop duo Ghost Beach’s Been There Before, by none other than the Dutch musical Funk master Shook. The track is part of a series of remixes from the likes of Penguin Prison, Gigamesh, Chad Valley and Summer Heart that will be dropped weekly, culminating in a full reMix EP release at the end of March.

Shook, of course, works his vintage disco magic on the track. The reMix is loaded with the Dutchman’s typical Moog Funk basslines and 70s disco pops and pows. Presented in a laid back groove, with Shook’s jazzy electric piano at the forefront, the track is the prefect melding of Shook’s 70’s Disco and Ghost Beach’s tropical sounds. One for late night dancefloors and lazy poolside days.

[Audio] Lenno reMixes Nabiha

Nabiha

When there’s a new Lenno track in town, we have to take notice. The young Finnish producer is easily one of our favourite artists to emerge in recent year. Whenever we’re in the mood for some uplifting, big room, Disco sounds he’s our go-to guy. he’s presented something a little different with his new reMix, this take on Danish/African diva Nabiha’s recent Mind The Gap single is a little more laid back and soulful that we’re used to from Lenno, but it’s an excellent addition to his repertoire.

Mixing his Disco and House roots with an almost 90s Nu-Soul, or Acid Jazz flavour, Lenno delivers a tune that is as dancefloor friendly as it is fit for enjoying a drink in the summer sun. A sweet mixture of piano hooks and a upbeat brass section give the track quite a live feel whilst keeping it’s Dance Music roots and following the structure of the song, allowing Nabiha’s big vocals to really shine. Lenno really is at the top of his game, few of his contemporaries come close.

[Audio] Only You’s ‘Reap The Voice You’ve Made’

Only You

Here’s the new one from retro Pop artist Only You. He’s released three songs so far, and earned three posts on electronic rumors, that a 100% conversion rate so far! This New Jersey based producer consistently impresses with his slick 80s style ElectroPop tracks. With a slight Americana twist, and heaps of nostalgia, his tunes always brighten out day.

Once again his latest track, Reap The Voice You’ve Made, shows off his rich, expertly crafted, songs. And epic vocal performance, introspective and intimate in the verses, powerful and anthemic in the choruses, raises this track up. Accompanied by authentically period drums and bassline and some shimmering synth lines, the whole track comes together to form an exciting, uplifting experience. Some of the best ElectroPop around.

[Audio] New tune from Daze

Daze

French Electro Disco producer Daze is gearing up for the release of his latest EP, to be titled Solar, which is apparently in progress. In the meantime he has dropped this previously unreleased tune to tide us over and it;s got us really looking forward to the EP.

Thinking About You is French Disco done right. Funky as all hell and build from massive sounds. A sweet vocoded vocal hook give the track structure in a track that harkens back to Daze’s Foundations EP. It’s the arrangement here that really shines though, wich drops and builds in just the right places and innovative fills to transition between the two. A definite floorfiller, roll on the EP.

[MP3] Pelifics reMixes Liebe

Liebe

Amazing Swedish SynthWave producer Pelifics has dropped this new reMix of Greek duo Liebe’s Strangers. The track is part of Leibe’s Somewhere In Time album and has just got the single treatment with a release last week. Pelifics is the prefect guy to give it a lush retroPop sheen.

The reMix hits all the right notes for a huge chunk of Boogie with a bouncy 80s bassline and vintage drum machine beat. It swaps the original ElectroPop’s tune Piano House flavour for a deeper, nostalgic vibe. Vocoders and cowbells round out the mix, and there even some of our beloved orchestral hits in the mix if you listen carefully. Pelifics turns a big slice of ElectroPop into an even bigger slice of evocative period Pop.
