[Audio] Lenno’s ‘No More’

Lenno

It’s been a while since we posted a new track from Finnish wunderkind Lenno; so right now we’re going to post a new track from Finnish wunderkind Lenno. Simple. this one is the B-side to his forthcoming new single Wake Up. In contrast to the high octane big room sounds of the A-side, No More, featuring vocals by Olivera, is a summery, laid back, Dreamwave tune the like of which we haven’t heard for a while. Poolside Disco vibes to follow.

Taking us back a couple of years to a time when the Binary crew ruled the beaches, Fear Of Tigers was serving up new sounds every week and Oliver hadn’t signed to Fool’s Gold and lost their way. No More is a blissful symphony of retro synth and sweet vocals. Gentle picked guitar flutters int eh background and Lenno delivers warm rushes of synths and subtly morphing keys that flow together with Olivera’s hazy voice. Just in-case you get too relaxed, the man brushes this over a distinctly solid dancefloor beat. Lovely stuff!

[Audio] Lenno reMixes Chromeo’s ‘Jealous (I Ain’t With It)’

chromeo

This, we imagine, is the last of our posts about Canadian funksters Chromeo’s Jealous (I Ain’t With It). Once the stems to a song like this are released into the world, everyone and their dog grabs those coat-tails. We already featured Ride The Universe’s amazing reMix of the tune, a slick laid back Disco stormer. At the other end of the spectrum sit our favourite Finn, Lenno, who takes the track straight to the big room. We’re not expecting anyone to do any better than these two, so case closed.

Taken from their new album White Women, Jealous (I Ain’t With It) was Chromeo’s first single from the album, but weirdly probably the album’s least-strong track. That is, before the likes of Lenno got their hands on it. As we’d expect from Lenno, he makes things truly massive with layers of hugs synths, perfectly produced, Building and building over a Boogie-esque bassline that gives the track a little Disco undertone, Lenno would have the dancefloor in the palm of his hand with this one. Dave 1’s vocals are just the icing on the cake here. We’ve got this on on repeat.

[Audio] Lenno reMixes The Young Punx’s ‘All These Things Are Gone’

The YOung Punx

This week MofoHifi’s The Young Punx release their new single, All This Things Are Gone. It’s a fourteen minute deep, groovy, House epic that includes mention of lots and lots of things that are (somewhat) gone that’s taken from their forthcoming album of the same name. The single comes complete with this tightened, big room, rework from the Finnish main man Lenno that’s sure to get a hammering in certain clubs this year.

The combination of the nostalgic, relatable, lyrics and Lenno’s blissful, almost Dreamwave, production is hard to resist. With undulating apreggios and lush, thick, synth riffs riding over  tough beats, Lenno delivers utterly compelling dancefloor vibes with more than a couple of hands-in-the-air moments. Musically, it’s kinda’ reminiscent of 2008’s Dreamwave flavour, but with updated Club elements, which all works perfectly with the dual robotic and impassioned vocals. We don’t like to use the word ‘banger’ much (because it;s not 2007 any more), but banger!

[MP3] Lenno & Jesse Oliver reMix The Electric Sons’ ‘Breathing Electricity’

The Electric Sons

It’s been a  while since Finnish big-room maestros Lenno and Jesse Oliver teamed-up. In fact, their last outing together was to reMix Miami Horror’s Holidays back in January of last year, but these guys are together again and hell bent on delivering s storming reMix. Which they have, in the form of this soaring version of American Indie-Electro duo The Electric SonsBreathing Electricity.

This one’s truly epic, Lenno and Oliver raise the roof with a cavalcade of thick, uplifting synths. The track just seems to build and build as more an more layers of sound are added to this anaemic seven minutes. Good things always happen when Lenno or Jesse Oliver are involved, the sound is so fresh and clean you can’t help big be carried away by it’s peak time vibes. Huge ElectroPop done exactly right, but you’d expect no less from these two.

[Audio] Lenno reMixes Nabiha

Nabiha

When there’s a new Lenno track in town, we have to take notice. The young Finnish producer is easily one of our favourite artists to emerge in recent year. Whenever we’re in the mood for some uplifting, big room, Disco sounds he’s our go-to guy. he’s presented something a little different with his new reMix, this take on Danish/African diva Nabiha’s recent Mind The Gap single is a little more laid back and soulful that we’re used to from Lenno, but it’s an excellent addition to his repertoire.

Mixing his Disco and House roots with an almost 90s Nu-Soul, or Acid Jazz flavour, Lenno delivers a tune that is as dancefloor friendly as it is fit for enjoying a drink in the summer sun. A sweet mixture of piano hooks and a upbeat brass section give the track quite a live feel whilst keeping it’s Dance Music roots and following the structure of the song, allowing Nabiha’s big vocals to really shine. Lenno really is at the top of his game, few of his contemporaries come close.

Lenno reMixes Atlas Genius

atlas-genius1

Following on from Fred Falke’s blistering reMix of Australian Indie rockers Atlas Genius’s new single, Trojans, Finnish master of the big room Lenno takes his urn to rework the track. Lenno has long been one of our favourite Disco-House producers and with this new mix he doesn’t disappoint.

Just one of a bunch of high-profile reMixes Lenno has been dropping in the past few months, this mix shows of the young producer’s peak time Disco sound and works it amazingly into this Indie tune, creating a big vocal House track with tons of Indie Pop swing. Lenno keeps the song itself intact, but replaces the Indie backing with lush, euphoric, piano driven dancefloor sweetness. The prefect feel-good groover.

Lenno reMixes The Knocks & Fred Falke

the-knocks-fred-falke1

Finnish producer Lenno is definitely one of our favourite producers working right now. His big room Nu-Disco sound, from a club point of view, is absolutely killer. When we heard he would be reMixing The Knocks & Fred Falke’s Geronimo, easily one of the tracks of the year, we were more than interested, and the track lived up to our expectation, being our favourite of the reMixes.

It’s up on Lenno’s SoundCloud now, so if you’re somehow one of the few stragglers who haven’t picked up the single at Beatport, this’ll convince you. Lenno brings his big sound to an already massive tune and the result is dancefloor genius. I hate comparing Lenno to Madeon, but if Madeon is fucking off to join his new Brostep friends, then Lenno is the man who’s name should be on your lips. No-one drops huge, complex Disco House like Lenno. I can’t wait to play this track out, a slice of funky euphoria.
