Lily Allen reMixed by Keadz

Lily Allen

Wow, haven’t written about Lily Allen in years, honestly didn’t think I would be again either but Belgian producers Keadz have breathes some new Disco into Lily’s ‘Fuck You’.

Smooth and slinky, they’ve broken out the Funk synths and the, er, glockenspiel and the end result is Lily’s political rant is transformed into a tropical beach Disco tune.

Cavaliers Of Fun’s new EP

Cavaliers Of Fun

It’s been a long time coming, but Ricco Vitali A.K.A., Cavaliers Of Fun, finally drops his first EP for ‘the ever-awesome Holographic People’ today.

When you see an EP title like ‘Sharing Space Secrets’ you know you’re in for a treat. The EP sees Vitali mixing up a number of cool, good weather styles in one big melting pot. There are hints of Electro-Indie, snatches of LA Dreamwave, a Nu-Disco groove, bits of Tropical and Balearic vibes, but overall I was quite surprised. I was expecting the kind of vintage synthed cosmic Disco I had come to expect from Cavalier’s Of Fun, what you get in this EP, though, is something more intimate, more musical, more akin to clash between East Coast Indie and West Coast Disco. This new found blending of Vitali’s sweeping vocals, Sci-Fi synthesizers and lilting Indie guitar really works in these five tracks and makes the EP a Summer must. I’m going to be reaching for the ‘Sharing Space Secrets’ EP everytime the weather gets good. Here’s our pick of the EP.

The Magician’s ‘I Don’t Know What To Do’ EP

themagician

In exactly one months time The Magician unleashes his début solo single, ‘I Don’t Know What To Do’, on Kitsuné Music.

By now you’ve already heard the original track, featuring Jeppe on vocals. It’s got that hypnotic late ‘80’s House piano sound and Jeppe’s anthemic chant combine with thick, lush synths to make a track that will uplift dancefloors worldwide. the EP is chock full of awesomeness too, reMixes come correct from Plastic Plates, Second Date and our boy Fabian. Second Date bring some seriously deep Disco to the table with an almost sub bassline and beach guitar forming the basis for their brand of Disco, and unusual mix definitely. Plastic Plates always come through with the goods and here is no different. Synthetic Electro Disco loaded with my beloved electro toms. PP’s reMix has this slick jazzy synth lead that sets a really nice groove for the track. But it’s the man Fabian who really blows this EP up, starting his track understated with a smoothly building arpeggio that soon gives way to a massive LA Dreamwave track with a booty shaking Funk bass that moves your body while the thick synth chords send your brain to the stratosphere.

Who wants to hear the new Justice single?

justice

Well, frankly, if you know anything about music comment on the internet you already have. But here’s out two penny’s worth anyway. if we could tie you down and make you listen we would.

We’re really digging it, I expect a lot of fans of Justice’s pedal-to-the-metal ‘bangers’ will be a little disappointed, but we’ve always preferred Justice when they indulge their Disco side and the obvious musical talent a little. To us, both this and ‘Civilization’ are justice at their epic, Disco opera, best.

Neo Disco Machine

Neo Disco Machine hails from the Russian Federation and has just dropped his first EP of disco flavoured SynthWave. For free!

The ‘Break The Ice’ EP contains four top quality slices of vintage synth fuelled electronic dancefloor sauce. For me the two standout tracks are ‘I’ve been Looking For You’, an Electro Disco tracks driven by a relentless arpeggio which adds in a little Disco and some nice vocal manipulation, and the title track, a dark Electro track which provides the backing for a space-age synth lead. Neo Disco Machine has compiled just the right amounts of Disco and Dreamwave in his music, which is a little more diverse than your standard SynthWave stuff and give him the edge to stand out from the crowd.

Ghosts Of Venice reMix Now In Stereo

nowinstereo

Leeds based Nu-Disco producer Ghosts Of Venice does a storming job on his new reMix of Now In Stereo’s ‘Away.

In full on beach party mode Ghosts Of Venice keeps the track rocking the whole way though. A simple but solid bassline drives the whole track to dancefloor ecstasy while the cut-up vocals samples, that blended into the original, here are a Disco air-raid siren warning you of impending Funk.
