M83 reMixed by Who Killed JR?

m83

A brief glance at SoundCloud will reveal that the world is flooded with shitty reMixes of M83’s ‘Midnight City’ that’s don’t really do anything and are just uninspired ‘producers’ trying to latch onto the latest buzz track. …Who Killed JR?, however, totally nail it!

The South African producer adds just the right amount of dancefloor energy into the tune, keeping enough of the original to make it recognisable but cutting and pasting it in interesting ways and adding his own layer of melody, finding the prefect balance between the original and making it his own. This mix would go down a storm at peak time, with the instantly identifiable riff of the original and a whole new level of groove.

The Good Natured reMixed by Adrian Lux

goodnatured2

Almost as a companion peice to Adrian Lux’s ‘Alive’ featuring The Good Natured, here he is reMixing The Good Natured’s new single ‘Video Voyeur’.

It’s got all the elements we loved about ‘Alive’, Sarah’s unique vocals seeming to add a new dimension to Lux’s Electro-House sounds, which would normally come across full of cheese. Here he get’s even more full-on Ibiza, and whilst not quite ad good as their previous collaboration, Lux’s rEMix of ‘Video Voyeur’ is still a big, confusing but wonderful, peak time tune.

Adrian Lux & The Good Natured’s ‘Alive’ video

Here’s the video for Adrian Lux and The Good Natured’s strangely epic ‘Alive’.

Still can’t get over how the mere addition of Sarah’s vocals make the cheesy Ibiza riffs sound good. This track is going to be huge. The video starts off pretty standard retro lighting clip and ends up Sci-Fi weird-out.

The ‘Alive’ single is out now with a reMix package featuring Albin Myers, Blende and Adrian Lux & Style Of Eye to follow.

Model

Model are an American duo who brand of abrasive Glitchy Electro-House hides quite a funky groove at it’s core.

Check out their two recent tracks, ‘DanceWorkDanceSex’ and ‘Minuit’, both of which have strains of both Ed Banger electro and 2001 ElectroClash running through their DNA. Chainsaw synths, disenchanted vocals snatches, driving beats and cut up crazy synth work. Throwing everything into the melting pot is these guys style, even working some ChipTune in there, I expect these two will be destroying Electro-House dancefloors next summer.

Kris Menace & Adam Shaw

Kris Menace

Following on from his recent team-up with Rex The Dog, Kris Menace has now enlisted co-conspirator Mr. Adam Shaw to produce the future floorfiller ‘Starchild’.

‘Starchild’ is a track with two sides to it. On the one hand it’s a percussion driven hard Electro tune, loaded with chainsaw synth riffs and deep bass, on the other it is a cinematic, BladeRunner-esque, soundtrack peice. As these two halves play off each other, and throughout the song give each other room to do their thing, the resultant track is both epic and dirty.

Fabian’s ‘The Jack’

fabian

Fabian is riding the wave of success right now. His ‘Last Flight’ single blew up, his reMix for The Magician blew up & his début album blew up. That’s a lot of blowing up, and I’m sure it puts a guy in a good mood.

Apparently so as Fabian decided to celebrate all the explosions by dropping a new free tune, ‘The Jack’. Joining the dots between Fabian’s LA Nu-Disco, Chicago House, and Rave, ‘The Jack’ is proper jackin’ indeed. In-fact, pairing a ‘90’s Chicago House feel with sun-drenched LA Dreamwave production has got such a groove and such a unique flavour that it could easily be the sound of next summer.

The Kids Are Radioactive’s new tune

The Kids Are Radioactive

It been a while sing we features a full on banger here, for no other reason than nothing in the past few months has really inspired me, but here come’s Binary’s resident ravemeister, The Kids Are Radioactive, to set that right.

There are two really epic sections to the track, a sequel to 2009’s ‘Perpetual Drag’, cleverly titled ‘Perpetual Drag 2’ (it’s possibly personal this time?) which nicely switch between chainsaw synth noise terror and and the lead section with a sweet euphoric chord progression, all this is underpinned with a reverby ‘90’s House piano which gives the track a different flavour from, your usual Electro-House. And of course, the thing if full of massive builds. I’m so glad that Jordan and some people can still make Electro-House tracks with a bit of imagination!

Queen Of Hearts reMixed by Lois Plugged & Fruckie

I get the feeling there’s a few reMixes of Queen Of Hearts’ ‘Black Star’ incoming.

Lois Plugged & Fruckie are up first with this reMix I was concerned, before the beat kicks in, was going to be mediocre Dubstep, but in actual fact it turned out quite nice. Taking all the good bit’s about Dubstep and applying it to a Disco beat and ElectroPop melody. OK, so there is the obligatory Dubstep breakdown, which felt a little tacked on, but that aside the rest of the mix is pretty much dancefloor gold.
