Stop the press. There’s a new tune from the newly solo and still pluralised Final DJs. This time Final DJs has enlisted the help of SynthWave scene staple Dana Jean Phoenix on vocal duties, and the Canadian songstress adds that little bit of nostalgic flair to an otherwise Housey tune. Check out We Are The Night Below.

Crisp and clean, We Are The Night wears it’s Nu-Disco and French Touch roots on it’s sleeve. Warm basslines and heavy filtering underpin proceedings, creating a groaning core of some lush synth stabs and chirping leads. Dana’s vocal glides over the track like silk, tying everything together nicely and giving the track the human touch. Excellent summer evening listening.

Stop the press, our boy in Brooklyn, AIMES, has just dropped a power bomb! Teaming up with NY vocalist Javi to drop a bran new track that hit you from the first bar. Burnin’ will be getting a full release alter in the year on AIMES’ own Wonder Stories imprint, complete with a host of reMixes, but until then the track is available to download right now. Careful, it’s razor sharp!

A neo-Italo juggernaut, Burnin’ hits the ground running with a rapid fire arpeggiated bassline that is relentless in it’s funkiness, it grabs hold of you and doesn’t let go for five minutes. A House track at heart, Burnin’ delivers on everything you want to fill the dancefloor, all mixed up with AIMES own unique spring synth style. Javis vocals are just the icing on the cake, soulfully tempering the edges of this hard hitting tune. Keep this in check until the weekend!

[Download] Liskka’s ‘As It Goes (I Give)’

Liskka are a brand new trio from London made up of Jana Tyrrell, Susie Wedderburn and Hannah Ashman. Whist it’s not mentioned in their bio anywhere, don’t think the fact that Jana was previously more familiar to us as part of Happy Hunting as escaped us. Her new endeavour is every bit as enchanting and hard to describe at that was. Check out As It Goes (I Give) below.

As It Goes (I Give) is the first of a handful of tracks to be unleashed this month leading up to the release of their début EP later in August. It’s a melting pot of so many different influences it;s actually quite hard to pin down. There’s a Chillwave-y haze to the track, but As It Goes (I Give) owes more to Pop and R&B sensibilities than it’s hazy brethren. Awash with lush synths and exotic purcussion, the track could easily get out of control, but Liskka keep everything tight and powerful and Jana switched between a gentle and dynamic vocal delivery. It hard to say exactly what Liskka are before we’ve heard more, but of now out interest is piqued.

We don’t normally write about tracks twice, but we’re going to make an exception here. ElectroPop queen Little Boots’ amazing vocal bootleg of Norwegian Cosmic Disco groover Todd Terje’s instantly recognisable Inspector Norse, which we wrote about a couple of weeks ago, is now available as a download, courtesy of Boot herself.

Computer Magic has just released a new tune for all your ears to wrap themselves around (metaphorically, not physically, ‘cos that would be gross) and get caught up in her nebulous electronics. If you had a lazy chilled Sunday, as we did, and you want to carry that into your week, let Computer Magic help you out with Mindstate.

Computer Magic almost skips, carefree ,into the realm on Chillwave on this new one. Ever the queen of analog dreamscapes and lo-fi ElectroPop excellence, Danz gets all reverb washed with Mindstate. Building layers of frothy synths overs a monster, somewhat subby, bassline delivers a hypnagogic combination of energizing bass and cerebral sparkling leads. Danz’s sweet vocal drifts across the track like vapour with a mix of melancholy and optimism. Excellent laid back summer vibes.

[Download] Alison Valentine’s ‘Pixie Dust’

New Yorkian future R&B songstress Alison Valentine recently unleashed this brand new track. It originally cam as part of this mixtape, but thankfully Ally decided to give the whole track to the world as it deserves to be heard in it’s entirety. So sit back in the moonlight, and check out Ally V’s Pixie Dust.

Stepping up for production duties on this one is French producer Para One, a man who’s no stranger to big bass and Hip Hop beats, both of which shine though on this slow and slinky Future R&B track. It’s got a distinctly R&B vocal flavour alongside some West Coast sounds, but that’s mixed up with a complex experimental flair as the track breezily cascades into an intricate synth jam while Ally’s silky vocal rides the booming bass.

[Download] Ali Jamieson edits Sandy Marton’s ‘Camel By Camel’

Were all busying ourselves here at electronic rumors HQ, putting things together for a pretty sweet forthoming release from Mr. Ali Jamieson. While he’s waiting for us to get our shit together, the London based multi-instrumentalist, and Heavy Disco head-honcho, has turned in this rather infectious edit of Croatian Italo champion, and keytar warrior, Sandy Marton’s 1985 tune Camel By Camel

Walking the line between edit and reMix, Ali puts the Turbo Funk touch on the track. Everything is bigger; bigger beats, bigger bass and the track pounds like never before. Toning down the vocals, and giving them a little vocoder company, Jaimeson frees up some space int he track for his juggernaut bass; which powers it’s way through the track, dragging along little Disco licks and Sci-Fi synths in it’s wake. Surprisingly though, the tune never looses the feel of the original, just gives it all the flair of a contemporary production, and it;s that the point of an edit? Mission accomplished.

[Download] Pat Lok reMixes Back Back Forward Punch’s ‘Solid Gold’

Australian ElectroPop duo Back Back Forward Punch continue in their quest to have everyone cool on the planet reMix them. Having already tussled with the likes of MiGHty mOUse, Dublin Aunts and The Penelopes, the Aussies then set their sights on Canadian House wizard Pat Lok for reMix duties on their latest single. The track’s called Solid Gold, and any new Pat Lok reMix is a cause for a party. So, yeah, let’s party.

But what do we have here? This isn’t a Lok-ian House tune riding a 4/4 kick. What we’ve got here is a board mix of 90s dance and Bristol beat (and yes, being from Bristol, this makes me very happy). In fact, this might be my favourite Pat Lok track to date, or maybe it’s just that the sun is shining and here’s a lazy vibe going on that the track’s slick mix of laid back 90s Hop Hop beats and warm Chicago keys feeds into. Either way the warm bass is filling my head and the shuffling hats are shaking my shoulders and I’m loving it. Enjoy.

[Download] Ben Macklin’s ‘Let You Down’

Oh hello. It’s the new solo tune from Cassette Club’s Ben Macklin. Mere weeks after his last single, It’s Over was released the man is back to treat us to five minutes of blissful chilled House to sort out the weekend. If, of course, your weekend starts tomorrow; which ours does this week! Haha, in your face everyone who’s weekend doesn’t start tomorrow this week!

A smooth-as-hell mixture of House beats and dreamy-Dreamwave tones, Let You Down is ‘summer jam’ exemplified. Picking up a Tropical vibe along the way, Let You Down lays it’s beats thick but it’s synths airy , crating a groove you can dance to but is a little something for the mind too. Add a sprinkling of nostalgia (there’s a slight Jan Hammer thing going on here), and you’ve got a tune that’s prefect for chilling by the pool, at the weekend, which (as previously mentioned) starts tomorrow for us (ahahahahaha).

[Download] Box Of Wolves reMixes Hawaii94’s ‘Runaway’

Canadian smooth merchant Box Of Wolves has offered up another of his awesome reMixes. Be prepared for some driving beats and dreamy keys on this reMix of frequent collaborator Hawaii94’s Runaway. The track is taken from the Australian producers recent Nightvision EP, which is available now, and walks a nice line between nostalgic and contemporary.

You’d think it would be hard to reconcile the pounding beats and pulsating synth bass of this track with the hazy keys and slight Tropical undertones, but Box Of Wolves juggles the styles with ease, delivering a track that is both light and airy and a floorfilling juggernaut. Hiwaii94’s anthemic vocals on the track serve to enhance this effect and his vintage style lends the track a retro twist. All-in-all you’re left with a track that’s just as suited to the headphones as it is the dancefloor, both epic and irresistibly funky.
