Memory Tapes reMixed by Jensen Sportag

Nashville’s finest ElectroFunk exports Jensen Sportag have turned their attention to reMixing the new single from Memory Tapes.

Taken from the free ‘Memory Tapes Tour EP’, a collection of reMixes, the Sportags’ reMix of ’Wait In The Dark’ is a dreamy affair. The solid backbeat acts as a hypnotising rock for the waves of lush synths and distant guitars to crash over. It’s a real chilled summer hit that I can imaging we’ll be listening to for a while.

You can grab yourself a copy of the free EP here.

‘Wait In The Dark’ originally appears on Memory Tapes second LP, ‘Piano Player’, released 5th July.

Grum reMixes The Good Natured

Sweet electronic X-mas! The Good Natured is one of my favourite Indie-Electro artists, and Grum one of my favourite Nu-Disco producers. The two together? Only good can come of this!

The results are pretty stunning, Grum makes the absolutely correct decision to keep most of the song structure and Sarah’s vocals intact, letting his massive sounding Nu-Disco groove support the track rather than obscure it. What you have in the end is an amazing meeting of Ms. McIntosh’s emotive voice and Grum’s body moving beats and soaring melodies. I love it when a plan comes together!

Shook reMixes Penguin Prison

Shook just drops amazing reMix after amazing reMix!

This time he’s turned his attention to Penguin Prison’s current single ‘Multi-Millionaire’ and covers the track in his lavish synth Funk. Squelchy Moog basslines and sweet leads are front and centre with a stellar electric piano solo. ‘Multi-Millionaire’ was one of Penguin Prison’s most Disco’d tracks to date anyway, but Shook adds the Funk to the ElectroPop mix in a melting pot of smooth radness.

Princeton; :kinema: on the reMix

Our favourite Brigton smooth DiscoPop dudes :kinema: are back with a brand new reMix of LA Indie band Princeton’s ‘To The Alps’.

No having heard the original I can’t compare it but I do know that :kinema:’s soulful electronic Pop sends this track into smooth heaven. With some interesting instrumentation :kinema:’s commented that the track is “Partly an attempt to make a kind of twee-indie-disco version of Coma Cat by Tensnake (in a good, referential and respectful way, rather than in a bad, copying and stealing way :P)”.

Princeton – To The Alps (:kinema: reMix)

It’s always fantastic to hear new music from :kinema: so we’re doubly in luck this week as Drop Out Orchestra have just released their new single, ‘All We Need Is Time’ on the awesome Mullet Records and the track features :kinema: big time, listen to it here.
