Justin Faust reMixes Moullinex

Moullinex

Here we have Justin Faust’s contribution to Moullinex’s forthcoming ‘Modular Jam’ reMix EP.

Mr. Faust adds some razor sharp synths with an almost Acid burbling to his crisp, clean Disco. Everything about this mix is so bright, like a shining white future built upon layers and layers of  head nodding riffs, immaculately produced. With an infectious hook and a mix that lets every element shine through, Faust has knocked out another winner here.

The Good Natured reMixed by Adrian Lux

goodnatured2

Almost as a companion peice to Adrian Lux’s ‘Alive’ featuring The Good Natured, here he is reMixing The Good Natured’s new single ‘Video Voyeur’.

It’s got all the elements we loved about ‘Alive’, Sarah’s unique vocals seeming to add a new dimension to Lux’s Electro-House sounds, which would normally come across full of cheese. Here he get’s even more full-on Ibiza, and whilst not quite ad good as their previous collaboration, Lux’s rEMix of ‘Video Voyeur’ is still a big, confusing but wonderful, peak time tune.

Little Boots’ ‘Shake’ reMixes

littleboots

I gotta’ say, I do like all this Little Boots being back business. Just knowing that Vicky is out there somewhere promoting an ElectroPop single is a calming influence on me, takes me back to those early, exciting days of electronic rumors.

A couple of new reMixes of her latest (comeback?) single ‘Shake’ have dropped this week. Azari & III, not strikingly, go deep with the track. Really deep. Their reMix is a growling, swelling, slightly techy jam that shoes off some nice raw 808 drum sounds and reminds me a little of early Bleep House. In their hands ‘Shake’ goes from being DancePop gold to a hypnotic  mantra. Crazy P head straight for the disco with their take on the track, taking a little Indie along with them. their version is a laidback, but groovy summer vibe.

So, by now you’re all familiar with Johan Agebjörn ‘Casablanca Nights’, on of the best albums of the year that saw Johan teaming up with a plethora of talent throughout the record, noticeably fellow Swede Le Prix. The two of the have decided that future collaboration between the two will fall under the moniker Plexi Grace.

The first released from Plexi Grace will be a selection of reMixes of the first track we heard from ‘Casablanca Nights’ featuring this team-up, the Lake Heartbeat featuring ‘Watch The World Go By’ the reMix package will be released on Fektive Records and contain work from Jam El Mar (the Jam from Jam & Spoon) who turns the track into a lush big room tune. Agebjörn will be returning the favour by reMixing Jam & Spoon’s ‘Find Me’, to be released in 2012.

Rumor

rumor

Rumor is UK House producer Chris White who mainly drops tunes of the Progressive or Tech persuasion. Now, I’m not usually a massive fan of Prog or Tech (especially Tech) but Chris’ tracks have somehow wormed their way into my brain. And if two Englishmen can’t find common ground over the fact that they both spell ‘rumor’ like Americans, then the terrorists have won.

I’ve picked the two standout original tunes for me, ‘Glow’ and ‘Dirty Hands’. It’s all about the deep groove round Rumor’s way, hypnotic and beautiful, like an audio black hole, drawing you in, and possible destroying you at the same time. ‘Glow’ is a late night jam for darkened dancefloors with killer percussion and the deepest of Deep House hooks, while ‘Dirty Hands’ is like a smooth cyborg juggernaut, as soulful as it is menacing.
