Fabian reMixes Short Circuit’s ‘How We Speak’

LexiconDon Quarter and Binary solo artist Fabian has given fellow Binarian Short Circuit’s ‘How We Speak’ a late night going over.

His reMix is a crazy mash-up of everything that works on the dancefloor. There’s some Breaks, some Electro-House riffs, some nice 90’s House keys and some smooth Nu-Disco & Dreamwaveyness in the background. Taking Short Circuit’s vocoded vocals and turning them into a hypnotic mantra Fabian has crafter a mix designed to do one thing and one thing only, get you dancing, and once the false finish kicks back in it’ll have you going crazy.

Short Circuit – How We Speak (Fabian reMix)

‘How We Speak’ is taken from Short Circuit’s ‘Late Night Drive’ EP, out now on Binary Entertainment.

Ride The Universe reMixes AXXE

Here we have another incoming reMix of Canadian ElectroPopsters AXXE’s ‘Sweet Stuff’, this time the worldwide phenomenon that is Ride The Universe are going to show us what’s what.

I’ve been waiting a while to hear some RTU with sultry female vocals, it seems to me to be the perfect combination and the boys just go nuts with the opportunity. In what is probably the most retro of their productions so far, their reMix of ‘Sweet Stuff’ is washed thick with 70’s Disco and Funk. Layering a solid, body moving, groove with euphoria inducing Disco lead lines is a heady combination. The union of AXXE and RTU is music so sexual that if AXXE release a Disco tune in nine months time I think we can safely assume what happened.

This is the tune of the month, easily!

How many more awesome AXXE reMixes can we take?

Beaumont’s ‘Skyline’

Hot on the heels of his last offering, ‘City Meets Soldier’, Melbourne producer Beaumont keeps his momentum going with a brand new single, ‘Skyline’.

In a kind of evolutionary cycle Beaumont started out producing Disco and Electro tunes, then he applied his skills in their area to more atmospheric, soundtrack-like pieces, and now with ‘Skyline’ he brings the beat back but retains the epic and evocative nature of his recent tunes. ‘Skyline’ is almost a feel-good antidote to ‘City Meets Soldier’’s intensity. It’s the hope for the future in the face of adversity, the picking yourself up after a fall, the sunrise after a night spent chewing your face off. It’s got some corking reMixes too!

♫ Beaumont – Skyline (Beaumont reMix)

Show Your Shoe and Fiero step up to the plate for reMix duties with Show Your Shoe getting his extreme Funk on in a way that will surely solidify his reputation as one of the most talented producers of Electro/Disco/Funk around, while the Firero boys round of the EP by bringing more smooth than you can handle with some seriously majestic Dreamwave sounds.

Goldroom

The melodic Indie end of Dreamwave, NightWaves, are in the process of finishing up their début album, but while that goes on NightWaves/Binary main man Josh is also expressing himself in the form of his brand new solo project Goldroom.

Cool licks, dreamy synths and Josh’s heartfelt vocal style are the order of the day here. The three tracks josh has unleashed on the world vary in sound, from the Funk tinged Indie-Dance of ‘Morgan’s Bay’ to the DiscoPop of ‘Nights In Nantes’, but the vibe running throughout is the epitome of Binary. One of summer days, late nights and good times, and that vibe ties the tracks together nicely. It’s kinda’ a sweet mix of influences actually, there’s a Disco groove, some nice Indie licks, some bits of 80’s Pop and R&B, all wrapped up in a atmospherically evocative package. Goldroom could be the new soundtrack to your summer city nights.

Blue Satellite’s ‘Aurora’ EP

Blue Satellite’s new EP dropped yesterday, and it’s a pretty awesome cosmic journey through electronic funk and Disco.

Philip Schwan, A.K.A. Blue Satellite, has given us two perfectly crafted tracks of Space-funk with a Dreamwave edge. ‘Aurora Pt. I’ layers a killer Funk bass with shimmering retro synths and a melody that is pure 70’s Japanese Sci-Fi anime star-travel sequence, topped of with a soaring Disco solo toward the end. The whole thing works amazingly together. It’s both got a serious groove and is a beautiful composition. ‘Aurora Pt. II’ is more of a Dreamwave affair reminiscing of the good old Valerie stuff but keeping Blue Satellite’s talent for basslines in the mix.

The EP is filled out with some top quality reMixes. Take a listen to Japanese DJ Taku-Hero A.K.A.Kill The Hero and electronic rumors favourite Show Your Shoe’s versions.

SaiR’s new tune

Here’s the brand new track from Portuguese producer SaiR.

‘Shoreline’ does exactly what it say on the tin, it’s an Electro-Funk fuelled Dreamwave sonic painting conjuring images of chilled summer days at the shore and waves crashing against the beach. SaiR,  A.K.A. Ruben Allen, has such a good grasp on synthesizer funk, both his basslines and his leads are pretty much perfect. This track is probably going to define my weekend!

Cinnamon Chasers’ new reMix EP

Hot on the heels of one of the best albums Nu-Disco/retro synth of the year, ‘Science’, Russ Davies A.K.A. Cinnamon Chasers is back with an EP collection of reMixes out next week.

‘Science reMixes Part 1’ takes four of the albums tracks, ‘Tattoo’, ‘Smooth Station’, ‘One Million Balloons’ and ‘Magic Lover’ p[resented in both their original forms alongside fresh new reMixes. anyone who’s heard ‘Science’ will know what an astounding body of work it is. Smooth Nu-Disco with and epic synthesizer soundtrack quality and a touch of UK house layered with impassioned vocals and vocoder work. The EP’s reMixes add a new dimension to the tracks, from the Old School House vibe of the ‘Retro 909 rEMix’ of ‘Tattoo’ to the space synth of ‘One Million Balloons (Floating Pods Version)’ the EP definably sees Cinnamon Chasers on top for and experimenting a little with his sound.

Cinnamon Chasers – Tattoo

The ‘Science remixes Part 1’ EP is out 77th June on Modus Records.
