Niceone matchmakes Louis La Roché & The Jets

louis_la_roche

I honestly don’t know if this is amazing or ridiculous, although I do have a massive soft spot for The Jets ‘Crush On You’. Apparently so do Niceone, who hammered that vocal into Louis La Roché’s ‘Los Angeles.

And it works, it probably shouldn’t, but it really does. The track makes you smile, them makes you laugh, then you find yourself getting into it, then you can’t stop listening to it. It’s terrifyingly addictive.

Monarchy reMixed by Dusk

monarchy

And here we have the latest in the long line of reMixes of Monarchy and Britt Love’s ‘You Don’t What To Dance With Me’. This time Dusk (a mystery man with zero internet presence) takes up the reins.

Dusk has turned in a stomping deep mix of the track. Full of low rumbling synths and tribal drums, it’s a powerful peice of work, only let down by some pretty discordant pitching of the vocals. That aside, the reMix is cool, combining glitchy clicks and pop and toytown melodies with the big percussion and dominant chords in a moody, ominous, dark dancefloor mix.

Monarchy (Feat. Britt Love) – You Don’t Want To Dance With Me (Dusk reMix)

‘You Don’t Want To Dance With Me’ originally comes from the ‘Around The Sun’ album, out now, the single is also out now.

Dimitri From Paris & DJ Rocca’s new EP

Dimitri From Paris

Dimitri From Paris & DJ Rocca have come together once more, riding the success of their ‘A Reason for Living’ EP, for a brand new six track release.

‘Erodiscotique’ continues in the same vein of floor filling Electro-Boogie with a nice live instrumentation feel. Interestingly, the EP features a cover of Pet Shop Boys ‘Domino Dancing’ which builds upon the song with a sweet ‘90’s house piano. Both Rocca and Dimitri deliver their interpretations of the track, with Rocca mix just taking the prize for being slightly more retro-funky. the EP’s lead track, ‘Ero Disco Theme’, nicely mixes synthesizer Funk with beach Disco for a smooth and sexy party starter. The other original, ‘Back To House’ does exactly what is says on the tin, this is pure Chicago House, pure late ‘80’s, and a really good approximation of it too, it;s got that deep groove and 909 beats, the House piano and a soulful melody on top. And of course, a sample of some deep voiced dude going on about “House Music”, now that’s authenticity!

Moullinex & Xinobi’s new EP

Moullinex & Xinobi are in the studio again, and you know when that happens the eclectic, madcap, Disco starts to flow.

The four track ‘X Marks The Spot’ single is out now on Discotexas and, if you know Moulinex & Xinobi, the title track is everything you’d expect. When these guys hit the studio together, anything can happen. We first heard this track back in April when they dropped it as a completely live demo, it’s now been refined but is no less live, it’s freakshow Disco, infectiously groovy and full of surprises. Drop Out Orchestra attempt to tame the insanity a little on their reMix, the result sounding like the bastard child of Moroder and Art Of Noise. Just to hammer home the crazyness of this release Moullinex & Xinobi have included their cover of The Cramps’ ‘Human Fly’. Rockabilly Disco anyone?

Noir Deco & MPM Soundtracks

Noir Deco

‘Future To Fantasy’ is the title of Newcastle SynthWave Producer Noir Deco new album, due out this week. Here’s a taste of what’s to come with a track featuring the awesome MPM Soundtracks.

‘Journeys’ is exactly that, a sonic exploration of rain soaked, neon lit, futuristic metropolis backstreets. With a hint of Italo about it, that keeps the energy up, the track is a masterful peice of soundtrack work. A synthesizer odyssey that leads you through the darkness, into the blinding artificial light as it sweeps from mood to mod. Can’t wait for the album!

Queen Of Hearts reMixed by Lois Plugged & Fruckie

I get the feeling there’s a few reMixes of Queen Of Hearts’ ‘Black Star’ incoming.

Lois Plugged & Fruckie are up first with this reMix I was concerned, before the beat kicks in, was going to be mediocre Dubstep, but in actual fact it turned out quite nice. Taking all the good bit’s about Dubstep and applying it to a Disco beat and ElectroPop melody. OK, so there is the obligatory Dubstep breakdown, which felt a little tacked on, but that aside the rest of the mix is pretty much dancefloor gold.
