[Audio] Lenno reMixes The Young Punx’s ‘All These Things Are Gone’

The YOung Punx

This week MofoHifi’s The Young Punx release their new single, All This Things Are Gone. It’s a fourteen minute deep, groovy, House epic that includes mention of lots and lots of things that are (somewhat) gone that’s taken from their forthcoming album of the same name. The single comes complete with this tightened, big room, rework from the Finnish main man Lenno that’s sure to get a hammering in certain clubs this year.

The combination of the nostalgic, relatable, lyrics and Lenno’s blissful, almost Dreamwave, production is hard to resist. With undulating apreggios and lush, thick, synth riffs riding over  tough beats, Lenno delivers utterly compelling dancefloor vibes with more than a couple of hands-in-the-air moments. Musically, it’s kinda’ reminiscent of 2008’s Dreamwave flavour, but with updated Club elements, which all works perfectly with the dual robotic and impassioned vocals. We don’t like to use the word ‘banger’ much (because it;s not 2007 any more), but banger!

[Audio] Erasure’s ‘Make It Wonderful’ reMixed by Bright Light Bright Light

Erasure

Make It Wonderful is the forthcoming new single from SynthPop legends Erasure. From what we’ve heard so far it sounds like an slick return to form for Vince and Andy. Amongst the plethora of reMix talent involved in the release, including the amazing Chad Valley, come this blissful rework of the track from ElectroPop globetrotter Bright Light Bright Light. euphoric 90s House vibes to follow.

Bright Light X2’s obsession with all things 90s has never been a secret, and with this reMix he wears it on his sleeve. This reimagining of SynthPop as 90s House Pop works perfectly, complete with all the trappings of the genre, from the the ponding beats, to the piano hook to the shimmering twinkly bits. Whist we usually see Bright Light Bright Light is a singer/songwriter, it turns out he’s not to shabby at the old reMix. Erasure goes dancefloor anthem!

[Audio] Cyclist edits Anoraak’s ‘Behind Your Shades’

Anoraak

French Dreamwave legends Anoraak release their new single, Behind Your Shades, this week. One of the standout tracks from the recent Chronotropic album, the single comes equipped with this edit from Canada’s finest; Cyclist. And it’s well titled, as it is more of an edit than a reMix, but one of the best edits we’ve heard in a while.

Ringing every last drop of dancefloor goodness from the track, Cyclist works the beat and bassline into a thick House monster, letting the tracks floaty Dreamwave overtone glide over the intoxicating groove. Knowing just when to use the vocals, and when to let the music speak for itself, Cyclist lets the mood rise and fall with a couple of deftly placed builds and drops. Definitely a let night floorfiller with a vibe that is as comforting as a warm blanket.

[Audio] Arcadis’ ‘In Your Eyes’

arcadis

German deep and soulful House producer Arcadis is back with a brand new EP. A storming collection of tunes from a guy who is fast becoming one of our favourite Deep/Garage-y/UK-ish/Bass House artists. Arcadis mixes up a load of Old School 90s House, Chicago vibes, UK Bass and Deep House with shuffling Garage beats.

In Your Eyes, the lead track of the similarly titled EP, is one of his finest to date. Exactly the kind of tune we’d love to hear right in the middle of a dancefloor session. Hypnotic to the fullest, the track growls along on the strength of 909 beats and deep, rumbling, bass. A deftly used vocal line ties the tune together nicely, especially in the surprisingly euphoric builds. We’d say this was a House crate essential.

[Audio] The Presets’ ‘Goodbye Future’

The Presets

Released today is the brand new single from Australia’s finest, The Presets, Goodbye Future. their first new release since 2012’s absolutely stunning, but poorly promoted Pacifica album. The intervening months have seen the duo touring extensively in Australia, but not venturing out of the country as often as we’d like (i.e. at all) and the single release marks the launch of another tour down under. A series of singles will drop over the course of the tour.

Goodbye Future takes no prisoners right from the offset, immediately launching into a house tinged groove before the esoteric narrative the marks a The Presets song kicks in. An energetic mix of thumping House and intelligent SynthPop, Goodbye Future is just another example of why The Presets are one of the best in the business and deserve to be much bigger than they are. And they should come and play the UK, we can barely remember the last time we saw them.

[Audio] Clancy’s ‘Overdue’

clancy

So, you’ll know we’ve been Championing Clancy since day one (which for us and him are about the same time), so we’re pretty pleased for him that he’s getting tracks premièred on Mixmag now. That’s some well deserved recognition right there. Said track is called Overdue, just like the aforementioned recognition. Word play! It’s his new single and due to be released early next month and joins the ever increasing list of absolute monsters from this guy.

A six and a half minute epic, Overdue eases you into it’s vibe, building anticipation with shuffling purcussion and haunting tones before it launches itself off and hits the ground running with a juggernaut bassline over a solid House beat. With a deep UK House sound, Overdue wraps you in a warm blanket of enchanting audio and leaves you with the feeling that you could loose yourself in it’s hypnotic groove far too easily. Another storming tune from Clancy.

[Download] WhoMadeWho’s ‘Hiding In Darkness’

whomadewho

Danish trio and staple of the interesting Electro scene WhoMadeWho have shared a new track taken from their forthcoming new album, Dreams. The track, Hiding In Darkness follows on from the album’s premier single, The Morning, and gives us a different, deeper taste of what we could be looking forward to on the new record.

This track is a big old melting pot of genres, all wrapped up in a slick, downtempo, House mood. With a classic moody SynthPop vocal, wicked Disco licks and spacious House grooves. With an almost Industrial purcussion, the track (unsurprisingly inspired by legendary Berlin Techno club; Berghain) the track has an edgy, enigmatic quality that give the tune new levels without ever interfering with the dancefloor catchiness.
