[Audio] Klaxons’ ‘There Is No Other Time’

Klaxons

Last week saw the re-emergence of Nu-Rave icons Klaxons. After indulging their Rockier side in the past few years their new comeback single, There is No Other Time, produced by future House Superstars Gorgon City, see them delve back into the waters of electronic music and showing just as much love for 90s Dance classics as they did when the first erupted on the scene.

The first tracks to be taken from their forthcoming summer album, There Is No Other Time rides a pulsating bassline that drive the track ever forward. With hints here and there, in the piano line and the vocal mantra, of Dance music classics of the past There Is No Other Time serves up a selection of live synths and Indie euphoria. A surprisingly good hint of what’s to come on their James Murphy, Chemical Brothers’ Tom Rowlands, and Erol Alkan producer new record.

[Audio] Bronx’s ‘U&I’

Bronx

Mexican producer Bronx has delivered and absolute stormer of a track in the form of his new release for Nervous Records. A double A-side single, the tracks What You Want and U&I bring some Deep House vibes to his Disco sound and cement the mans reputation as one of the finest producers to emerge in the last twelve months. U&I is our pick of the single, pure club gold.

The track does occasionally serve up some Inner City style old school House vibes, but mainly the groove concentrates of a powerful Deep House tirade that is as funky as it is hypnotic. This one is unashamedly for the dancefloor, and nowhere else. But drop it on the dancefloor and you’ll have the crowd eating out of your hand. Thick bass, relentless beats, bouncing stabs and a low vocal to keep things soulful; this one has it all.

[Audio] €urocrats’ ‘Black Hole Bass’

urocrats_thumb

Deep warehouse vibes right here from the new single from AeroPop supergroup €urocrats, a collaboration between Vito Aeroplane and Dimitri From Paris. Getting twisted and dark, as opposed to their more Boogie laden previous single Follow Me, this single comes in two flavours, 606 and 909, and we bet you can imagine what to expect from either.

Whilst the 909 version is pure Acid tinged Chicago House madness, it;s the 606 version that caught or eye. Stripped of the occasionally harsh 909 beats, this version relies on a more synthetic feel courtesy of the 606 purcussion. Coupled with pulsating vintage synths and a voice of doom, this one is a hypnotic, Acid fuelled, jam for dark backrooms and seedy after-parties. Retro floorfilling goodness.

In the meantime he’s whipped up a jackin’ House tune with this track. It’s got a nice retro swing to it courtesy of some thick synth stabs running throughout that give the vocals a buoyant quality. All this resides upon a deep bassline constructed from pulsating and echoing synths. It’s as atmospheric as it is dancefloor friendly. Perfect for that Deep House portion of the night. A true meeting of talents.

Eli Escobar

New York House legend Eli Escobar dropped a new single this past week. Released on Nurvous the track, an ode to his home town, features vocals from Australian producer Anna Lunoe. Giving a shout out to the city’s districts and underground club scene, Red Hot is a deep and groovy anthem for New York City nights.

A burbling, stripped back warehouse tune, Red Hot mixes the old school with the new with an array of vintage synths and drum machines hammering out gagged beats and basslines. With a slightly Acidic feel amongst the retro House, the tune is given it’s icing courtesy of Lunoe’s sultry, deadpan, croon. The is one you’ll find on the dancefloors of dimly lit basement parties.

[Audio] Earl Grey reMixes Paul Johnson’s ‘Let Me See You Butterfly’

Paul Johnson

The latest work from electronaut Earl Grey comes in the form of his contribution to a collection of reMixes of Chicago legend Paul Johnson’s 1984 Traxmen tune Let Me See You Butterfly Released this week the single boasts a whopping nine different versions of the tune. Earl Grey keeps it deep and old school on his hypnotic mix.

With pulsating vintage synths, Earl Grey occasionally weaves into the realm of dark Italo with this one whilst keeping a true warehouse vibe. The bass is think, the vocals space, the apreggios subtly and mesmerising and above all, the beat ticks along in true Chicago House style. Earl Grey is developing quite the knack for delivering interesting electronic music whilst keeping things dancefloor orientated. It’s a fine balance between the experimental and the groovy, and Earl Grey walks the line well.
