[Download] AIMES’ ‘Burnin”

aimes1

Stop the press, our boy in Brooklyn, AIMES, has just dropped a power bomb! Teaming up with NY vocalist Javi to drop a bran new track that hit you from the first bar. Burnin’ will be getting a full release alter in the year on AIMES’ own Wonder Stories imprint, complete with a host of reMixes, but until then the track is available to download right now. Careful, it’s razor sharp!

A neo-Italo juggernaut, Burnin’ hits the ground running with a rapid fire arpeggiated bassline that is relentless in it’s funkiness, it grabs hold of you and doesn’t let go for five minutes. A House track at heart, Burnin’ delivers on everything you want to fill the dancefloor, all mixed up with AIMES own unique spring synth style. Javis vocals are just the icing on the cake, soulfully tempering the edges of this hard hitting tune. Keep this in check until the weekend!

AIMES (Feat. Javi) – Burnin’

Burnin’ will be released with reMixes later in the year.

[Download] Liskka’s ‘As It Goes (I Give)’

Liskka

Liskka are a brand new trio from London made up of Jana Tyrrell, Susie Wedderburn and Hannah Ashman. Whist it’s not mentioned in their bio anywhere, don’t think the fact that Jana was previously more familiar to us as part of Happy Hunting as escaped us. Her new endeavour is every bit as enchanting and hard to describe at that was. Check out As It Goes (I Give) below.

As It Goes (I Give) is the first of a handful of tracks to be unleashed this month leading up to the release of their début EP later in August. It’s a melting pot of so many different influences it;s actually quite hard to pin down. There’s a Chillwave-y haze to the track, but As It Goes (I Give) owes more to Pop and R&B sensibilities than it’s hazy brethren. Awash with lush synths and exotic purcussion, the track could easily get out of control, but Liskka keep everything tight and powerful and Jana switched between a gentle and dynamic vocal delivery. It hard to say exactly what Liskka are before we’ve heard more, but of now out interest is piqued.

Liskka – As It Goes (I Give)

Liskka’s début EP is out later this month.

[Download] A.N.D.Y.’s ‘Whitney’

a-n-d-y

Belgian Housemeister A.N.D.Y.’s unveiled a new tune this week. After producing a sting of huge floorfillers that had a slightly enigmatic edge, A.N.D.Y. has gone for the full on good-times angle with Whitney, which is probably obvious from the title. Adding a little of the ol’ Tropical into his subby House vibe, A.N.D.Y. delivers something a bit 90s retro, a bit summer party and a bit smile on your face.

So this one’s all about he storming House beats and plinky plonky Island purcussion-y lead. Whitney’s Whitney vocal snatches serve to punctuate sections of stabbing warehouse leads and beach party hooks as the track rises and rolls to a typically A.N.D.Y sub bass. The track’s a free download, so grad it while it’s hot and spend your afternoon in a Tropical paradise. We can’t wait for A.N.D.Y.’s next single.

We don’t normally write about tracks twice, but we’re going to make an exception here. ElectroPop queen Little Boots’ amazing vocal bootleg of Norwegian Cosmic Disco groover Todd Terje’s instantly recognisable Inspector Norse, which we wrote about a couple of weeks ago, is now available as a download, courtesy of Boot herself.

You can read what we wrote about it here, we won’t harp on about it again (but it is very very good). “hat you’re probably after is the track itself. Grab it below while it’s hot.

[Download] Computer Magic’s ‘Mindstate’

Computer Magic

Brooklyn’s resident synthesizer dreamer, Danz A.K.A. Computer Magic has just released a new tune for all your ears to wrap themselves around (metaphorically, not physically, ‘cos that would be gross) and get caught up in her nebulous electronics. If you had a lazy chilled Sunday, as we did, and you want to carry that into your week, let Computer Magic help you out with Mindstate.

Computer Magic almost skips, carefree ,into the realm on Chillwave on this new one. Ever the queen of analog dreamscapes and lo-fi ElectroPop excellence, Danz gets all reverb washed with Mindstate. Building layers of frothy synths overs a monster, somewhat subby, bassline delivers a hypnagogic combination of energizing bass and cerebral sparkling leads. Danz’s sweet vocal drifts across the track like vapour with a mix of melancholy and optimism. Excellent laid back summer vibes.

[Audio] Le Cassette’s ‘Electric Paradise’

Le Cassette

Some of the UK’s finest SynthPoppers, Le Cassette, have just released their eagerly awaited début album, Left To Our Own Devices. Anyone who’s been following the SynthPop scene in the UK will know that this have been a long time coming, as these guys are one of the more promising acts around. The album itself is definitely worth the wait, containing fifteen tracks of lusciously nostalgic synthesizer based Pop music that evokes the perfect era of British music. That era.

Check out album track Electric Paradise, which nicely works as a standard bearer for the album. With Electric Paradise, as with all of Left To Our Own Devices you’re treated to a sweet retro symphony of vintage synth sounds and punchy drums. The taught electronic bass underpins the track, giving it a particular TOTP UK funk, while waves of warm tones and pads create a bed for shimmering starlight leads. Add to this Adam McNab’s Japan-esque croon and you’ve got the combination for pure 80s goodness. If you love yourself a bit of nostalgic SynthPop, you need to check out Le Cassette’s Left To Our Own Devices  right now.

[Download] Alison Valentine’s ‘Pixie Dust’

Alison Valentine

New Yorkian future R&B songstress Alison Valentine recently unleashed this brand new track. It originally cam as part of this mixtape, but thankfully Ally decided to give the whole track to the world as it deserves to be heard in it’s entirety. So sit back in the moonlight, and check out Ally V’s Pixie Dust.

Stepping up for production duties on this one is French producer Para One, a man who’s no stranger to big bass and Hip Hop beats, both of which shine though on this slow and slinky Future R&B track. It’s got a distinctly R&B vocal flavour alongside some West Coast sounds, but that’s mixed up with a complex experimental flair as the track breezily cascades into an intricate synth jam while Ally’s silky vocal rides the booming bass.

[Audio] Maya Jane Coles’ ‘Premonition’

Maya Jane Coles

It looks like Fabric were so pleased with hypnotic groove queen Maya Jane Coles’ edition of their fabric mix series, fabric 75: Maya Jane Coles, that they got all excited and decided to commit two of the tracks from the mix to vinyl. Released as a painfully limited edition 10”, the release features Premonition, Maya’s original track in fabric 75 (natch’) and London-based producer Paride Saraceni’s Dissolute. Check out Premonition below.

Premonition is deep and undulating electronics at it’s finest. Enigmatic and emotional, the track bathes you in waves of warm synths and enchanting loops. Recorded especially for fabric 75, Premonition combines a skippy solid beat with a haunting array of tones and textures that seem to worm their way under your skin. Haunting, but never dark, its an intoxicating track. The 10” is receiving a strictly limited run of 300 copies, available exclusively to fabricfirst members, of which we are not; so if anyone is and wants to do us a solid fave, hit us up in Twitter.
