[Download] Tobtok’s ‘Savanna’

Tobtok

Young Swedish producer Tobtok’s has been cancer free for one year. Which is about as awesome news as you can get. Our lives have been touched by Cancer recently, and frankly, it’s a fucker; so we’re dead pleased for Tobtok. And what better way for the man to celebrate than with a brand new tune. Optimistic Topical vibes ensue.

And it is an optimistic tune. A full-on Island Disco belter without a care in the world. Layer up high with wicked Disco licks, lush synths and breezy guitar, Savanna eases you into it’s groove before hitting you with a big, uplifting horn section. This one brings together the vintage and modern in a track that will carry you away to warmer climates and summery good times. The hint of Toto-esque Africa vibe in the background is just the final sweetener that turns the track into a Disco masterwork.

[Audio] The Knocks & Sneaky Sound System’s ‘The One’

the-knocks

New York DiscoPop duo The Knocks are showing off more from their forthcoming Comfortable EP. This time it;s one of the back-up track, and one, in our opinion, should have possible been the lead tune on the release. It features the wonderful Sneaky Sound System, and it’s called The One. DiscoPop doesn’t really get much bigger than this.

The One has all the swagger of a Nu-Disco floorfiller and all the huge euphoria of a big room monster. This explosive combination of two worlds results in a huge, sassy dance track with a vintage Disco funk running underneath powerhouse chainsaw synths. Sneaky Sound System’s Connie belts her way through the track bringing the uplifting vibes and taking things to the next level. From what we’ve heard of the EP so far, this one’s the standout.

[Audio] Cyclist & Douze reMix Joshua Collins’ ‘To The End’

Joshua Collins

Get set for another awesome release from French label on On The Fruit Records. Next up is ex-Human Life member Joshua Collins’ new record To The End, a buzzing, euphoric slice of synthesizer Disco that’s guaranteed to brighten up your day with it;s playful melodies. the single comes backed with a couple of storming reMixes from two of our faves, French producer Douze and Torontonian funketeer Cyclist.

Douze kicks thing off slow and steady with rattling purcussion and rich, enigmatic synths, gradually building pace until, around the 1m20s mark he launces into a thick Elector Disco groove, loaded with futuristic Funk and warbling keys. Sci-Fi Disco at it’s finest, Douze’s reMix delivers 22nd century vibes. Cyclist goes in the opposite direction with a blissful retro Disco jam full of sunkissed sounds. Smooth synths intertwine with a head nodding bassline and a jazzy line in guitars that ease their way toward a cosmic solo at the tracks finale. Another spot-on release from On The Fruit.

[Download] Nude Disco’s ‘Neon Hearts’ (+ Jules Schimmer & Auxiliary Tha Masterfader reMixes)

nude-disco

Record label Nude Disco, spawned from the club night Nude Disco, are following their compilation Nude Disco selections Vol. 1, with their première single release; from Nude Disco. that’s a lot of nakedness right there. The single’s called Neon Hearts, and it features the vocal stylings of Foreign Boy and comes with a loaded reMix package including work from Luxar, Discomendments, Jules Schimmer and Auxiliary Tha Masterfader.

Neon Hearts is a lush, urban, slice of SynthPoppy Nu-Disco. Musically it’s a slightly Tropical four minutes of infectious synthesizer Disco. Peppered with Poppy riffs, the bass bounces, the leads get euphoric and the purcussion keeps things funky. The infectious dancefloor groove is all leading toward a sweeping solo. Foreign Boy’s vocal contribution is what gives it it;s SynthPop edge as he croons his was through the track in a neo-Pet Shop Boys style. Jules Schimmer adds a little 80s flair to the tune with a chugging bassline and Top Of The Pops beats before launching into a hands-in-the-air piano House riff, while Aux takes a future Italo approach to Neon Hearts, injecting burbling synths and his own analog Disco style. The whole release is an impressive début for the label.

[Audio] Duke Dumont reMixes Tensnake, Nile Rodgers and Fiora’s ‘Love Sublime’

tensnake

German House producer Tensnake’s Love Sublime dropped late last year. The symphonic Disco track was the first taste we had of what to expect from the mans début album, Glow, which is set for a March release. Not content with letting the track lie, some tasty reMixes are on the way, first up being this warehouse monster from one of the UK’s current darlings Duke Dumont.

The Duke keeps things purely House based with this growling rework. That bassline is just dominating; warping it’s way though the track, giving it a dark edge that contrasts nicely with the big vocals and lush piano line. Big beats, deep bass, and a relentless groove, what more do you need form a late night floorfiller? The sparking synths are just the icing on the cake. A storming reMix.
