[Audio] Hemingway reMixes Man Without Country’s ‘Catfish’

Man Without Country

Torontonian Cosmic Disco master Hemingway is back with a brand new reMix. Welsh experimentalists Man Without Country are his latest target as he morphs their hazy slice of Indie-DreamPop, Catfish, into a space funk oddessy, loaded with that thick, thick synth bass we’ve come to love from this guy.

With a nice vintage brush, Hemingway paints an epic masterpiece of twisting leads, starlight keys and that in-your-face bass. Sounds swirly around your head as melodies intertwine and curl sound each other. the whole hazy, Sci-Fi Funk works perfectly with the original tunes vocals, making them sound like some distant message from the starts. Hemingway really is one of the best in the business right now.

[Audio] Joypopp’s ‘D-Day’

Joypopp

As we reported yesterday, French SynthWave producer Daroc contributed a track to the French Le Burgundy Paris L’Album, but it wasn’t alone on the record. Daroc other project, as member of ElectroPop two piece Joypopp also turned-in a brand new tune for the collection. Their particular brand of sweet atmospheric SynthPop since last years Addictions album.

Their new track, D-Day, is a heady buzzing synths and dreamy vocals, with just a sprinkling of guitar. Alix’s siren vocals drifting across the magic swirl of sounds to instil a mood of smoky mystery with a hint of enticement and a hint of foreboding. A nice retro feel is provided by vintage synth sounds, it’s one of those songs that stick with you after you’ve finished listening. This truly is DreamPop.

[Download] French Horn Rebellion & Saviour Adore’s ‘The Fire’

french-horn-rebellion

New York DiscoPop duo French Horn Rebellion really don’t like letting the dust settle on their singles, do they? They’ve been hammering them out in the latter part of this year. It’s like they’ve been saving them up. Personally, we’d have liked them to spread releases out a bit, allow a bit of time for each record to sink in, but as long as the quality keeps up we’re not going to complain that much.

Their latest tune is The Fire, which features Fellow Brooklyn-ite Savoir Adore in a thick and full slice of  ElectroPop euphoria. As with most of FHR’s output, it’s a party tune, all about he good-times (albeit with a slightly deeper sound this time around). The track glides along on top of a bouncy bassline that gives the track it;s funky core. The mixture of male and female vocals, and the waves of lush synths, make the track seem like a rush of emotion. Almost gospel at times.

[Download] Aimes’ ‘Marvin Gardens’

aimes

Here’s the latest slice of laid-back synthetic Disco from one of Brooklyn’s finest Aimes. Marvin Gardens is a free download, ‘cos Aimes is just that kinda’ guy. In fact, this is the third in a series of freebies that the man is giving away. I know, right? Crazy! But he does it anyway. Marvin Gardens is another top quality tune from Aimes, prepare for some, as they say, ‘chillvibes’.

Injecting a bit of classic Soul into his work via Marvin Gaye’s Pride And Joy. Which Aimes sets amongst a blissful array of lush, thick synths and a rockin’ Boogie-fied bassline. Totally dreamy, the track just seems to carry you away on it’s back, and by the time the precise lead melody comes-in, followed by bouncy keys, you’re well and truly on another planet.

[Download] Futurecop! & New Arcades’ ‘Atari Warrior’

futurecop

UK Dreamwavers Futurecop!’s new album, Hopes, Dreams & Alienation was supposed to be released on August, but it wasn’t, it’s now set to drop this month. To celebrate, the guys are giving away this brand new track, Atari Warrior, that features none other than out very own New Arcades. Get involved.

Atari Warrior is short but sweet. Clocking in at just under two and a half minutes, the tune is a mixture of Futurecop!’s Electro, New Arcades’ passionate vocals and an extra helping of ChipTune. Starting off with a tough SynthWave vibe, the tune soon descends into controlled sonic chaos with big synth leads pumping, piercing arpeggios and a soaring vocal performance. Exhilarating stuff.

[Download] Wildarms’ ‘U Don’t Understand’

Wildarms

Electronic experimentalist Wildarms hails from, yes, you guessed it, Brooklyn. Question; does Brooklyn breed peeps who love synths, or do peeps who love synths all move to Brooklyn? It’s a conundrum indeed. We wonder if people in Rock bands in Brooklyn are marginalised? Anyhoo, Wildarms makes some heady Chillwave sounds and has just hooked up with, yes, you guessed it Cascine, to release his début EP, Just For Love. Here’s the first track.

U Don’t Understand serves up an almost Post-Punk take on the swirling moods of Chillwave. The gruelling bassline would, at first, seem at odds with U Don’t Understand’s ringing atmospherics, but somehow they all work beautifully together. Layers upon layers of sonic hazy is piled on, from cavernous synths of fragile violin, set amongst a booming beat and crazy pitched up R&B vocals. It’s like Wildarms threw everything against a wall and only the awesome stuck.
