New tune from Shook

shook

Dutch Nu-Disco genius Shook is breaking out some smooth as hell Moog Funk in his new track ‘Hold Tight’.

Taken from his forthcoming new EP ‘The Rise & Fall’ which collects earlier tracks from Shook. Presumable most of his recent time has been taken up with churning out amazing reMix after amazing reMix, but ‘Hold Tight’ is the most recent of the bunch. With some sweet electric piano that brings the theme tune to ‘Taxi’ to mind set against a Disco beat and bouncy synth Funk bass you have a laid back Disco jam for hot summers in the city.

Wet Wet Wet reMixed by Nico Les Tuyaux

wet-wet-wet

Well, this is just weird and wonderful. ‘80’s Soulful Popsters Wet Wet Wet’s ‘East Of The River’ (no, not ‘Sweet Little Mystery’) given a complete Nu-Disco workout by Nico Les Tuyaux.

Adding Disco strings, thick analog bass and some slick French Touch filter action to a Wet Wet Wet track doesn’t, at first glance, seem like the most natural thing to do, but this young Parisian producer brings it all together and makes it work. Insane, but infectious.

Monsieur Adi’s latest Madonna reMix

madonna

Now, with all pretence of being a trilogy Monsieur Adi’s fifth Madonna reMix has landed to wow us once more.

What can we say about Adi’s mixes that we haven’t already said? The man’s skill as a Nu-Disco producer with a perfect ear for the dancefloor coupled with his flair for the orchestral is a combination that wins ever single time. The way he keeps the groove while adding all the drama and emotion for the most rousing movie score amazes us every time. It’s no different with this reMix of ‘Beautiful Stranger’, the track is led by a robust horn section and swelling strings that only around the four minute mark are complimented but the beat kicking in, but this just adds to the anticipation, and when the beat does drop, along with a shift in the strings, it’s powerful stuff.

quinten909

Not stopping for breath after his appearance on Millennium Disco Volume 2, Quinten 909 teams up with Mayhem to drop a bran new single on GrooveTraxx.

‘Work It Out’ breaks out that most wonderful of inventions, the talk box, to add some Chromeo-esque Funk to their Disco mix. All the elements are present and correct, from the Moogy sliding bassline to the twisting synth solo this is some top ElectroFunkPop. Amongst the reMixes on the single, Xinobi makes his mark in his usual raw Disco way. Showing of his multi-instrumentalist skills drops a slice of live Disco, rocking everything from bass to added vocals.

Chris Malinchak’s new EP

chrismalinchak1

This week just gone French Express released the new EP fro NYC Nu-Disco wizard Chris Malinchak.

His second release for French Express, the ‘Vilette’ EP is three tracks of synthesized Disco goodness. The lead track ‘No Secrets’ is a soulful, late night jam. Smooth, laid back DiscoPop at it’s finest with vocals courtesy of Damon C. Scott. this the flourishes and attention to detail that really make Malinchak’s productions stand out, the retro ‘80’s sound is complemented with little touches like the tribal percussion fills that give the track a bit of a unique feel. Also featuring on the EP is ‘Accolade’, first aired on The Magician’s ‘Magic Tape 14’ mixtape. This tune is pure summer nights and good times, lush synths densely layered complimented with feel good chimes for the prefect party mood.

Jordan F’s ‘Last Night’

jordan f

One of the things I love about producers interacting with listeners on social media is they are always offering incentives for followers or likes, and in that situation everyone wins!

So, one of out favourite Aussie synth wizards Jordan F has offered up this track in celebration of hitting the 550 fans mark on Facebook. Surely the man deserves more than this? Jordan makes those synths sing. As a producer he’s definitely finding the right balance between emotive and atmospheric, and dancefloor as his tunes both conjure up and emotional resonance but are also a stomping good time.

Moullinex’s ‘Sunflare’ video

I was going to post Moullinex’s new single today anyway, but that was going to have been in a boring old SoundCloud player, ooo look at the waveform…now you can hit play and see all manner of moving pictures to go along with the music!

Luis Calçada and Dinis Costa direct, it’s pretty crazy. I think they were trying to look as little like a SoundCloud player as possible.

The ‘Sunflare’ single is out today.
