Final DJs reMixes Tommie Sunshine & Disco Fries

Tommie-Sunshine-Disco-Fries

Final DJs in the mix again! This time tackling Tommie Sunshine & Disco Fries, already smooth as hell, ‘Don’t Look Back’. Can they make it any smother?

Why yes, yes they can. With liberal healings of soaring synth and some slick, subtle, vocoding Germany’s finest craft an epic slice of SynthWave euphoria. Whilst ultimately full of feel good synth Funk, this reMix also has some hauntingly beautiful moments, and that’s what we’ve always said  Final DJs do best. When they mix up their deeply emotional synth work with their straight up dancefloor grooves the world seems a better place.

Monsieur Adi reMixed by Freak You

monsieur-adi

If you read electronic rumors at all you’ll know that in the past year French symphonic Nu-Disco maestro Monsieur Adi has been raising the bar for everyone with amazing track after amazing track, leading up to the release of his mind-blowing ‘Fire Fire Fire’ EP.

Now the track ‘Requiem’ from the EP is getting a single release and one of the reMixes included will be by On The Fruit head honcho Freak You. Freak You’s reMix is a breezy ElectroPop affair, playing with the vocoded vocals as another layer of melody. Speaking of Melodies, Freak You’s multiple lead lines are a real joy in this tune, each one complementing the last. The ‘She’s In Heaven’ mix is a real nice mid-tempo jam that strikes just the right blissed out note.

Pelifics & AXXE

pelifics

After the successful release of the awesome ‘Lifetime Pt 1’ EP featuring Electric Youth and Human Life, Sweden’s Pelifics are gearing up to follow up with part two of the set.

The lead track on part two is ‘He Was The Best’ which features the jet setting AXXE and is pure ElectroPop heaven. The ‘80’s sounds on this track could quite easily fit onto Top Of The Pops circa 1985, it’s got that second generation SynthPop/first generation Italo sound, characterised by a vintage SynthPop sound influenced by new European dance music. Wrap that up in a package with a subtle sheen of beach flavoured Nu-Disco and you’ve got the makings of a killer track. Which this is. Can;t wait for the EP.

Led Er Est’s new single

Led Er Est

New York’s leading Minimal Synth outfit Led Er Est’s new album, ‘The Diver’, will be out next month. Here’s the lead single ‘Kaiyo Maru’.

Minimal Synth it may be, but there’s nothing minimal sounding about ‘Kaiyo Maru’. It’s a rich, regimented slab of electronic melancholy. The vintage drum machine sounds in particular, a relentless march that underpins what is, for Led Er Est, quite a poppy track with a big ‘80’s Post-Punk chorus and a thick robotic bass.

‘The Diver’ is released 8th March.

Russ Chimes reMixes Per Byhring

Per Byhring

In the past couple of years we’ve come to know Russ Chimes as a man who could do no wrong, responsible for some of the most exciting, flawless reMixes and tunes in recent times. We’re big fans. Recent tracks from the Russ have seen his style evolving, but displaying no less finesse. After a period of quite he[‘s back with a new reMix. Can he keep up his winning streak?

The track in question is his version of Oslo artist Per Byhring’s ‘Ettertid’ and Mr. Chimes nails is. <sarcasm>There’s a surprise</sarcasm>.  Russ whips up a compellingly funky slice of House that contains nods to both his classic Nu-Disco work and his more recent Rave fuelled output. Slick, complex percussion and a deep deep grove provide the prefect, infectious backing for some melodic use of the vocal and playful leads to do their euphoric work.

Two new tunes from Mental Minority

Mental Minority

Mental Minority, then enigmatic German producer of awesome SynthWave, has unleashed another couple of new tracks on the world.

First up is ‘To M.J.’. The M.J. in question being the ‘Fox’ kind rather than the ‘Shamone’ kind. You’ll get this as it kicks off with a Back To The Future sample before launching into some sweet retro soundtrack SynthWave. With a nice refrain to bedrock the track, ‘To M.J.’ allows the shimmering leads to shine though, and there are several, weaving and intertwining with each other in quite an organic fashion. Mental Minority mixture of Italo grooves and emotional playing makes for an awesome, nostalgic chill out tune. The amazingly titled ‘I Used To Feel Quite Sad At Outdoor Raves’ opts for a more aggressive sound. A growling Italo bass and powerhouse drums drive this track which works a combination of early ‘90’s House and ‘80’s synth sounds in quite a unique style. It’s a building track that layers upon itself as it climbs toward the finale, a big hands-in-the-air moment.

Moon Boots’ ‘Got Somebody’

Moon Boots

Premiered on The Magician’s ‘Magic Tape 21’, and now finally available, is Moon Boots’ new track ‘Got Somebody.

This 90’s R&B sampling monster has been dropped by the fine folk over at French Express is so much grater then the sum of it’s parts. A masterclass in Tropical Disco, laid back grooves and that interesting instrumentation (here xylophone) that usually comes with the best Tropical tracks. ‘Got Somebody’ effortlessly layers these elements with some lush retro synths for a track which is as much part atmosphere as it is music. Good times.

Mr. Pteez reMixes Keet

keet

One of our favourite Russian synth heads, Mr. Pteez, is back with a brand new reMix. This time the sometime B-Boy takes on fellow Russian House producer Keet’s ‘Russian Alien’.

The original was a sweeping, bouncy slice of big room House, so Mr. Pteez adds a touch of his own Electro Boogie to the mix. Laying down a shuffling Disco beat, rich retro synths and a funking bassline. This is a tune that constantly builds, slowly and subtly adding layers and elements until the end of the track is so full and big it’s guaranteed to get you moving. Once again Mr. Pteez has shown himself to be one to watch out for. Exciting stuff coming.

TEEEL & Ana Lola Roman

Ana Lola Roman

Well TEEEL is just a reMix machine these days. The past couple of week have seen him drop loads of new tune. Not that we’re complaining, especially with his latest, a mix of Ana Lola Roman’s ‘Telegram’.

Reimagining Ana Lola as some kind of dreamlike Italo Disco diva, this reMix. Rolling bass and rich synths wash over each other building to a sweeping chorus, the vocals in this track acting almost and another instrument, weaving in and out of the electronics. TEEEL has crafted the track to walk the thin line between dancefloor and soundscape, and has mastered both with skill.

Computer Magic’s ‘Trinity’ video

We featured Danz A.K.A. Computer Magic’s new EP back in February, now there’s a video for the EP’s lead track.

It’s a really nice clip, sometimes uncomfortable, sometimes cute, sometimes nerdy. DIY videos at their best.

Computer Magic’s ‘Orion’ EP is out now on Kitsuné.
