Miami Horror’s ‘Moon Theory’ video

Yesterday the excellent Melbourne based SynthPop/Dreamwave act Miami Horror unleashed their new video for the track ‘Moon Theory’.

It’s a chilled groove full of interesting synth sounds with a video produced by Pharm productions that features some kind of space cowboy and, er, other stuff…

The single will come with a reMix package from the likes of Punks Jump Up, Baby Monster, Yacht and this one from Sam La More:

FM Attack’s new EP

FMAttack

Today saw the release of Vancouver’s finest Space-Disco export FM Attack’s new EP, ‘Astrowave’, picking up the cosmic synth journey where last years album ‘Deamatic’ left off.

‘Old Skool Daze’, from the EP, is a vocoder laden synthesizer epic that takes in influences from B-Boy Electro, Moroder-esq Electro Disco and the synthesizer skills of the likes of Jean Michele-Jarre. It’s exactly how I like my Nu-Disco, intricate, layered and musical but with a heavy beat, the vocoders are just the icing on the cake.

Broken Bells’ ‘The Ghost Inside’ video

Broken Bells (being Danger Mouse and James Mercer from The Shins) premiered their new video, ‘The Ghost Inside’ today over at The Guardian.

The song is quite a cool, laidback, Big Beat/ElectroPop tune that really grown on you with repeated listens, but the video is awesome as hell! A cool and quirky Sci-Fi story starring the smokin’ hot Christina Hendricks (Firefly/Mad Men) with a punch-in-the-gut ending. Just watch it:

Broken Bells self-titled first album is out now.

Alan Braxe reMixes Visitor

Visitor

London’s SynthPop rising stars Visitor’s Diamond Cut produced forthcoming single ‘Los Feeling’ is being eagerly anticipated by anyone with even a passing interest in electronic music.

The ex-Cobra Dukes produce, with this single, a perfect balance of the retro and the new, as if modern equipment and production techniques were transported back to the 80’s. ‘Los Feeling’ is powerful and passionate with node to both the intimate ElectroPop of Pet Shop Boys and OMD to the stadium rock of Simple Minds or U2. The much anticipated Alan Braxe reMix has been on Youtube for a while now and has had more than a few repeat listens. Braxe really takes the track to another level creating an intense, multi-layered Nu-Disco track that deserves to blasted loud on a summer’s night!

With more reMixes from Designer Drugs, Fear Of Tigers and Monsieur Adi, waiting for this single to be released is almost painful, until then give the guys some massive MySpace love!

Holy Ghost! reMix Monarchy’s forthcoming single!

monarchy02

New Yorkers Holy Ghost! have really gone to funky town with Monarchy’s forthcoming single ‘Love Get Out Of My Way’.

Premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 Show last Friday the reMix is a massive slice of Moog Funk. You can hear little elements of the component parts creeping in here and there. Little bits of Monarchy and little bits of Holy Ghost!’s NYC Disco all presided over by a huge Moog riff.

Funkier than we are used to with Monarchy? Yes. Awesome as hell? Yes!

Kitsuné X Ponystep

KitsuneXPonystep

Last time Kitsuné Music collaborated with one of Richard Mortimer projects on a CD the end result was ‘Kitsuné/BoomBox’. Mixed by, both Kitsuné resident and resident at Mortimer’s legendary BoomBox club, Jerry Bouthier, the album brought together Electro-house and underground ElectroPop to amazingly capture the summer of 2007 for anyone listening to that type of music or going to those types of clubs. it was easily the soundtrack to the year.

This summer Kitsuné are partnering up with Mortimer’s current business, the London based Fashion/Music/Culture webzine PonyStep, to produce another compilation. Mixed, once more, by one half of JBAG, Bouthier, the track list is already impressive. Featuring the likes of Róisín Murphy, Bag Raiders, Adamski, Lindstrøm, Lo-Fi-Fnk, David E Sugar and Das Pop to name a few. BeatauCue’s reMix of Florrie’s ‘911’ makes an appearance in the form of a JBAG edit. As does Two Door Cinema Club’s previous single ‘I Can Talk’ as reMixed by French Horn Rebellion. With a line up like that, and Jerry Bouthier’s prowess at putting together an awesome electronic Pop mix this album should really be something special!
