Taryn Manning’s ‘Moonwalk’ video

You know how yesterday I finally posted the Leisure Council produced Taryn Manning track, ‘Moonwalk’ and mentioned there was an awesome video I wasn’t allowed to post? Well apparently I am, so here it is.

Shot by the man with the eye, Paul Nguyen, the clip features Mr. Nicky Savage as a top fashion photographer, Jeremy rocking his bass and his will to live far too close to the edge of a rooftop and Sam living the Slash dream in some of most impressive axe work ever committed to film wile Ms. Manning generally lives it up. Also, someone needs to make an animated .gif of Fiero Leisure Council jumping through a roof into a pool!

Make sure you check out yesterday’s post about the track, as we’ve added a download!

‘Moonwalk’ is hopefully released soon!

Hot Chip’s ‘Night And Day’ video

Here’s the new video for Hot Chip’s weirdly infectious forthcoming single ‘Night And Day’.

Once again it’s directed by Peter Serafinowicz , so I guess you’re pre-warned that it’s going to be surreal. And it is, but Terence Stamp, Lara Stone and Reggie Watts are along for the ride, like somehow that makes it slightly less surreal?

‘Night And Day’ is released 4th June on 12” and digital with reMixes from The 2 Bears (natch) and the B-Side, ‘Jelly Babies’.

Hot Chip’s new album, ‘In Our Heads’ is released 11th June.

CHEW LiPS’ ‘Do You Chew?’ video

CHEW LiPS’s comeback tracks ‘Do You Chew?’ is such a welcome return. It’s catchy and infectious as hell too, it’s been on repeat a lot around these parts.

Check out the new video for the track. Filmed in Paris, the clip is it’s beautifully shot in dreamy soft focus for a nice retro look.

S.P.O.C.K.’s best of the SubSpace years

OK, you either know what I’m talking about with S.P.O.C.K., or you don’t. S.P.O.C.K. are Sweden’s greatest Sci-Fi SynthPop export, with an awesome live show they are probably the most fun band in the galaxy.

They haven’t released a new studio album since 2001, but next month sees the release of a compilation of their output during their time of their own co-owned SubSpace Communications label, which actually includes most of their best years and the best of their huge space-age anthems, such as ‘Where Rockets Fly’.

‘Another Piece Of The Action: The Best Of The Subspace Years’ is released 5th June on limited edition transparent vinyl, CD digipak and digital.

Hervé and Ronika’s ‘How Can I Live Without You (Make It Right)’ video

Well, we’ve been hearing about this for a while now, both in person and on Twitter, but now we can feast our eyes on the video, and have our first listen to the full vocal version, of  Hervé and Ronika (ahem, Madonna Of The Midlands™)’s ‘’How Can I Live Without You (Make It Right)’.

Directed by Jack Lightfoot & Robin Mason at Blindeye Films, the clip features little Ron and little Hervé, and slightly less little Ron, but seems to be missing a big Hervé. Wassup with that?

Hunt In Pairs’ ‘Prayers’ video

‘Prayers’ is the second track from Minimal Synth act Hunt In Pairs, it;s a moody, introspective, Indie-tinged electronic track with a suitably avant-garde video.

Put together by the band themselves and is simple but effective. Haunting and always visually interesting and works beautifully in synchronisation with the track.

Goin’ Old School: Cabaret Voltaire, Pet Shop Boys & Duran Duran

Goin’ Old School isn’t a trip down music memory lane, it’s a mugging in the dark alleyway of nostalgia:

Up first today, the mighty Cabaret Voltaire with 1980’ ‘Nag Nag Nag’, laying foundation for all electronic music that came after it.

Late ‘80’s Pet Shop Boys now with ‘Domino Dancing’ from 1988, with that post-Italo NRG bassline.

Oh, go on then. Duran Duran’s ‘Rio’ from 1982.

Age Of Consent’s new video

London based retro ElectroPop outfit Age Of Consent’s new single ‘Heartbreak’ was released this week on their Bandcamp page for the cheap price of ‘whatever you want’.

It’s a stomping, powerful classic SynthPop track, check the video directed by Gareth Phillips for some retro video visual to go with that Depeche Mode/Nitzer Ebb pounding.

Soldout’s ‘Wazabi’

Slinky Belgian ElectroPop duo Soldout have just released their new single ‘Wazabi’. It’s a abrasive but catchy synthetic Pop track that was put together with some input from Richard 23, which kinda’ explains things.

Here’s the video, directed by Soldout, Amandine Klee and Frederic Lefevre, featuring distorted neon visuals. Distorted neon nicely sums up Soldout’s sound actually!

‘Wazabi’ is out now.

Flight Facilities’s ‘With You’

Flight Facilities’ new single ‘With You’ is a slamming Disco jam that features Mr. Grovesnor from Hot Chip who has briefly put down the sticks and picked up the mic for this team-up. It’s a summery, laid back tune that I actually prefer to ‘Crave You’ (controversial!). The Tropical Funk is strong with this one, as is the French flavour.

Benjamin Drake directs this superb animated video with is a bit of a MegaMan/Speed Racer/Akira/Astroboy/Bubblegum Crisis mashup. Very cool.

‘With You’ is out now.
