[MP3] French Horn Rebellion reMix Harts

Harts

Australian Indie-rocker Harts sure knows how to pick his reMixers. First he has the amazing Diamond Cut reMix his début single, all Too Real, now he’s got French Horn Rebellion on the case. Apparently Harts stepped in as drummer for FHR when they played down-under, so when it came tome for Harts reMixes, FHR were an obvious choice.

French Horn Rebellion drop a pumping Indie-Disco version of All Too Real, keeping much of the guitary feel of the track, but bestowing it with an added infectious Disco groove. The bassline stomps it’s way toward your heart like humming mind-control leaving tons of room for the rest of the track to a breezily lay down it’s fun summer grooves and Disco hooks.

[Audio] Plastic Plates reMixed by Bufi

Plastic Plates

This reMix of Plastic Plates’, Simon Lord featuring, Things I Didn’t Know I Loved is a nice little extra. Not featuring on the single, it comes as part of Kitsuné Music’s Kitsuné Club Night Mix #3 compilation, mixed by main man Gildas. It;s by Mexican producer Bufi and is perfect Friday night material,

Bufi Houses things up a little, mixing a nice digital Disco bassline with a big piano House riff to fun, summery effect. This mix is all about dancing and good times, injecting the track with a lively carnival vibe and enough dancefloor power to keep it moving. A nice Balearic breakdown adds a little touch of sunrise awe right in the middle of a solid groove.

[MP3] Monarchy & Dita Von Teese reMixed by MiGHty mOUse

Monarchy & Dita Von Tease

It;s been a while since we heard from one of the best ElectroPop act to emerge in the last few years. About a year in fact, but Monarchy have been holed up in the studio and are ready to start unleashing new material. The first new single from the duo is the recently announced collaboration with goth muse Dita Von Teese titled Disintegration, and the guys have just dropped a reMix of the track by none other than London Disco wizard  MiGHty mOUse.

If you were looking for some low-down synthetic Funk topped with a dramatic vocal, you’ve come to the right place. MiGHty mOUse get back to his squelchy Disco roots with an energetic, infectious bassline, twisting little riffs and some vintage strings, bringing a whole new level of 70s flair to the vocals. Seriously, this reMix is so addictive we defy anyone not to start nodding their head at least, the prefect combination of Disco, Funk and Monarchy’s ElectroPop. The track is a guaranteed dancefloor rocker and just us just a little insight into what’s to come from Monarchy.

[MP3] G.L.O.V.E.S. reMixes Sun City

Sun City

Perth Indie new-comers Sun City certainly know how to pick their reMixers. The seems to be working through a who’s-who of Australian electronic music talent. First it was Disco demon SHAZAM!, then the king of down-under SynthWave Jordan F unleashed his version of their track Zoetrope, now Aussie Nu-Disco legend G.L.O.V.E.S. has whipped up their new tune, Horizon’ into a smooth beach-party tune.

Apparently the reMix was inspired by the current climate in Australia, by “the last month of beach raves, boat parties, rooftop pools & balmy evenings”, which makes us insanely jealous as, being in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s pretty chilly here. But G.L.O.V.E.S. brings a little of that sunshine vibe to our foggy winter morning with a slick, laid-back, groove. Dropping in hints of the original’s vocals amongst wicked Disco licks and warm 70s synth sounds G.L.O.V.E.S. a sexy House tinged Nu-Disco tune that we’ll be saving up for our summer.

[Audio] Silenx’s ‘Space Love’ reMix EP

Silenx

Earlier this year Silhouette Music put out the Space Love EP from our friend SynthWaver Silenx. A collection of some of his finest tunes from around that time, the EP held four track worth of massive funky, space age Electro. Now it’s time to revisit Space Love, with a brand new reMix EP holding work from some of the top names on the scene.

Brooklyn synth heads Follow Me kick off the proceedings with a bouncy Italo version of the title track that delivers punchy beats and bass while managing to keep the Sci-Fi tone intact. Germany’s finest, Final DJs, bring a wonderful combination of soaring synths and infectious digital slap bass for their take on Far Far Away. Injecting the EP with an overdose of Disco, Final DJs work up a track that is electronically complex as it is soulful. 80s Stallone’s vintage 80s dancefloor workout version of Long Lost Love brings the core essence of SynthWave to the EP with wobbly chords and digital horns over an addictive Italo-esque groove. The EP leads off with a reMix of Stellar Kiss from Keenhouse. As you would expect, Keenhouse gets emotional and psychedelic with his synths, crafting a futuristic soundscape with a Jazzy twist and delivers the prefect EP closer. Easing the listener out of the heave retro beats with a glorious galactic voyage of swirling synthetic sounds.

[Audio] Ronika & Mylo!

Ronika &Mylo

If there’s a bunch of tracks in the past few months we’ve been dying to hear it’s the fruits of the collaboration between Ronika and Mylo. As soon as we heard these two would be working together, Dance legend Mylo has personally chosen our girl Ron to ‘mentor’ as part of Bacardi’s Bacardi Beginnings project that teams up-and-coming artists with veterans, we’ve been itching to check out the result. We know there’s more than one track incoming, and here is the first Dance (The Modern Way).

Weirdly enough, it does actually sound like Ronika And Mylo working together. It’s essentially very much a Ronika track, but in some respects swaps her jagged retro DiscoPop for Mylo’s warmer, more rounded Dance sound. So, without mentioning Ron or Mylo anymore, the track itself is pretty awesome and despite sounding like a stripped down, hypnotic track, has a hell of a lot going on in it. A long, rich, string and vocal led intro lays down a sense of drama as the tune gradually introduces pulsating arpeggios and a classic House riff, winding up the listener like a rubber band until, just before you snap, launches you into a deep House groove. Loaded with Italo overtones, Dance (The Modern Way) juggles Robo-Pop slickness and euphoric 90s House with ease topped of with Ron sounding sultrier than ever. Ronika and Mylo in the same room is definitely not disappointing so far, can’t wait to hear what’s next.

♫ Ronika Vs. Mylo – Dance (The Modern Way)

No word yet about release dates or when the other tracks will surface. We’ll keep out ears to the ground. If you;re in London this weekend you can catch Ronika DJing at the launch of new Disco clubnight West 54th Street.
