[Audio] Ben Macklin reMixes Julian Sanza & Future Feelings’ ‘The Feeling’

Julian-Sanza_

Well this is quite a meeting of talent! Julian Sanza, Colombian groovemeister, and Mexican Nu-Disco outfit Future Feelings’ smooth The Feeling has been previously released via Eskimo Recordings on their The Blue Collection album. Now, courtesy of Nein Records it’s getting a full reMix package that’ll feature the likes of Tronik Youth and Avanti serving up versions of the track alongside this summery jam from London’s Ben Macklin.

Macklin serves up a lush, breezy, House tune with one foot in a Disco groove. Getting well into the laid back vocal, Ben washed the track in hazy synths and a shimmering piano hook. Set to a choppy bassline, this reMix delivers all the bright and uplifting sounds you want from a feel good sunshine track, but keeps things strictly in the chilled out zone. The weather has turned pretty awful here in the UK, but as soon as the sin comes out again this one is on repeat.

[Download] Nude Disco reMixes Force MDs ‘Tender Love’

force md's

Nu-Disco meets New Jack Swing right here with this remix of 80s Soul-Hop outfit Force MDs’ breakthrough hit, Tender Love. Nude Disco is the one who has stepped up to the plate to rework this 1985 classic. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis produced the original, that’s some pretty big shoes to fill!

Nude Disco takes the track to the synth crown with a strong Italo/Synthwave bassline underpinning the whole tune. The combination of a punchy bassline and the smooth-as-hell track is an interesting one and works surprisingly well. Nude Disco keeps the bulk of the arrangement intact (well, you’d have to with this song wouldn’t;t you?), but the whole thing is seemingly re-energized with a sprinkling of Nu-Disco and a sprinkling of Tropical.

A relaxing, but upbeat, vibe permeates the track, facilitated by an array of analog synths and a steady bassline. Angelica Bess’s slick vocals drop in and out of the track, introducing a little soul as the track dabbles with a kinda’ 90s Acid-Jazz feel set to an Electro Nu-Disco tune. We’re eagerly awaiting the EP.

[Audio] Max Lyazgin’s ‘Good Trip’ (+ Satin Jackets reMix)

Max Lyazgin

Russian producer Max Lyazgin will be a name familiar to anyone keeping one ear to the House and Nu-Disco scene. Having released a string of sweet releases on Nervous Recordings amongst others, Max has now teamed up with the awesome Pole Position Recordings to drop his new EP. The Good Trip EP is pretty stocked, with three originals and two reMixes it well worth the price of admission. Check out the title track, alongside a slick reMix from Germany’s Satin Jackets, below.

Good Trip deftly walks the line between compelling Deep House and laid back beach Disco. Riding on a punchy House bassline and eases you into it’s world gently, before launching into a full on Piano House jam that is equal parts floorfiller and chill out tune. Spikey leads and chirpy keys keep he mood light over a pounding Deep House backbeat. Satin Jackets keep the groove low down and bass heavy, and then pepper the track with a playful array of nostalgic synths. From the piercing 80s stabs to the distant synth Sax, The Satin Jackets mix is layered deep with little riffs and hooks that could have sounded over-complicated, but Max easily tames the track into a smooth five minutes of easy going bliss.

[Audio] Shook’s ‘Violet Hues’

shook

It’s pretty much exactly a year sing Dutch musical prodigy Shook release his self titled début album, whether coincidence or not, the man has chose this week to première his first brand new tune is what feels like ages. Violet Hues, is here to remind us of what an exceptional musician Shook really is, as he teams up with someone (who we have no idea who) with a beautiful voice to drop a hazy slice of sweetness.

Smokey vocals, waves of calm and shimmering synths, a funky but gentle bassline; Violet Hues is like a warm blanket of funk, a groovy dream. The bassline really underpins the track, chugging along with a restless groan, carrying the layers of heady sounds that life your spirits on every listen. Add to the mix the sweetest of vocals leading up to a magical synth and piano solo; and need we say more? Amazing stuff, and a welcome return for Shook.

[Download] Ali Jamieson edits Sandy Marton’s ‘Camel By Camel’

sandy_marton

Were all busying ourselves here at electronic rumors HQ, putting things together for a pretty sweet forthoming release from Mr. Ali Jamieson. While he’s waiting for us to get our shit together, the London based multi-instrumentalist, and Heavy Disco head-honcho, has turned in this rather infectious edit of Croatian Italo champion, and keytar warrior, Sandy Marton’s 1985 tune Camel By Camel

Walking the line between edit and reMix, Ali puts the Turbo Funk touch on the track. Everything is bigger; bigger beats, bigger bass and the track pounds like never before. Toning down the vocals, and giving them a little vocoder company, Jaimeson frees up some space int he track for his juggernaut bass; which powers it’s way through the track, dragging along little Disco licks and Sci-Fi synths in it’s wake. Surprisingly though, the tune never looses the feel of the original, just gives it all the flair of a contemporary production, and it;s that the point of an edit? Mission accomplished.

[Download] Phunktastike reMixes Blondie’s ‘Rapture’

Blondie

We gotta’ say, this is pretty special. Argentina Nu-Disco bass-merchant Phunktastike has delivered this reMix of Blondie’s classic Rapture. It’s a track that’s been reMixes a few times recently, but Phunk’s take on the track is hands down the best we’ve heard to date as the man whips the track into 2014 dancefloor shape whist keeping true to the groove of the original. Dat bass!

Yup, this one’s all about that bassline. Deep and rumbling, the bass in this reMix is utterly intoxicating, drawing to into the smooth, floorfilling, vibe of the track. Debbie Harry’s vocals remain largely intact, including the rap (thank you Phunk!) and are now served up as an ethereal siren’s song over a Sci-Fi Disco, electronic soundscape. Brooding and moody, but with heaps of Funk, this is a retro-future boogie monster that is going to be on repeat ‘round here for a while.
