[Audio] I Am Noxious’ ‘Watch My Ship Go Down’

It’s been absolutely ages since we heard anything from Danish artist I Am Noxious. We honestly didn’t;t know is he was still in the business or not. His deeply introspective brand of Bedroom Pop has been with us almost since out inception, beck when Bedroom Pop was a recognized ‘thing’. So, it was a surprise to us when he delivered a brand new tune into our inbox, Watch My Ship Go Down. A tune with proves he’s lost none of his reflective flair, but adds a little bombast to the mix.

Listening to Watch My Ship Go Down you can quite easily slip back into the I Am Noxious groove. That comfortable, personal vibe given off by his music is still present in these new recordings. It’s a pensive track, resting on a combination of toytown beats and gently piano supported by swirls of vintage sounding synths. T’s vocals convey an intimate quality, as with the best Bedroom Pop, but Watch My Ship Go Down also has a surprisingly euphoric chorus up it’s sleeve. A great Monday morning track.

[MP3] Robotaki’s ‘Raton Laveur’ & ‘It’s Still About You’

One of Canada’s unsung synthetic Disco talents, the awesome Robotaki has broken a long period of silence with a brand new double A-side single, Raton Laveur and It’s Still About You, for free. These are tracks that have been knocking around on Robotaki’s shelf for a while now, while we’ve been waiting for then to be released, and now they’re here they don;t disappoint, especially the Hey Champ featruing It’s Still About You.

It’s Still About You is Robo-Disco at it’s finest. Full of sparky snyths stabbing their way over bubbling arpeggiated basslines and a stomping beat. With just enough of a hint of retro to be cool, but still maintaining a contemporary feel, the track perfectly plays to Hey Champs’ strengths to deliver the best of machine groove and swinging Nu-Disco. Raton Laveur is more of a dreamy, electric piano fuelled, Disco tune that mixes up a laid back poolside vibe with some big room Elector elements to produce something that is both smooth and a high octane dancefloor monster. these are definitely two tracks you should be checking out.

It;s already being tipped to hit the charts and we couldn’t be happier for Adi, it looks like he’ll finally get the success and recognition he so richly deserves. This Refix injects a little classic, epic, Adi into the tune. A dancefloor destroying companion to the originals Pop stylings. This tune is loaded with massive, sweeping synths, huge breakdowns and growling bass that all plays perfectly with Adi cinematic orchestration. [MP3] Coupons & Christa Vi’s ‘Emerald Bay’

Here’s a luscious slice of flyaway Disco from Sydney based duo Coupons. Emerald Bay sees them teaming up with the Australian come Londoner singer/songwriter who’s name is on everybody’s lips, Christa Vi for all kinds of holiday, boating and sunshine musical metaphors. Just stop for a moment, and drink this in.

“Well, that’s pretty Tropical” is something you might say about this Emerald Bay. And you’d be fairly justified in your assessment, because it is pretty damn Tropical. From the laid back tune’s opening salvo of Island purcussion it’s all growling funky basslines, steady Disco beats and shimmering synths. Christa weaves a nice little mental picture of summery days and holiday vibes until there really isn’t anything you can do to dislike this track. It’s just all about good times.

Australian ElectroPoppers extraordinaire Cut Copy’s new single Free Your Mind, with all it’s 90s Indie-Dance leanings has gone and got itself a video. Check it out.

It’s got some Alexander Skarsgard, from True Blood and nothing else really in, and was directed by Christopher Hill and is pretty funny actually. All culty.

[Video] Silver Swans’ ‘Sea Of Love’

Sea Of Love is the first single from San Francisco ElectroPop outfit Silver Swans’ forthcoming sophomore album Touch. It’s a beautiful, swirling and mysterious slice of DreamPop that is truly enchanting in both voice and synths. It definitely has us intrigued to hear the album.

The video was directed by Seamus Harte and Silver Swans own Ann Yu in Ann’s, very brightly lit, bedroom. The subtle vintage video effects really make this clip stand out.

Silver Swan’s Touch is released later this year.

[Audio] Reset! reMixes Ladytron’s ‘Ritual’

ElectroPop legends (yup, I’m pretty sure we can call them that now) Ladytron are working toward a very special Black Friday Record Store Day release this year. November’s celebration of physical media (the second this year) will see the band release a reMix version of their latest album, Gravity The Seducer. Between now and then the band are dropping a couple of reMixes to buy. This version of Ritual from Italian outfit Reset! follows Gosteffects’ Ambulances reMix.

Gravity The Seducer wasn’t Ladytron’s finest moment, and Ritual not one of the album’s standout track either, but Reset! do admirably, turning the Proggy epic into a fairly groovy Disco-House track. The track works best when it deviates from the original significantly, throwing everything from big-room leads to ChipTune chaos into the mix. The end result is an almost French Electro power tune with occasional bouts of swirling guitar breakdowns. We’re definitely looking forward to finding out who else was called up to produce a track for the album, we’ve heard some rumors we’ve got our fingers crossed for.

[Video] Bastille’s ‘Of The Night’

Of The Night, London ElectroPop outfit Bastille’s ode to Snap!’s Rhythm Is A Dancer and Corona’s The Rhythm Of The Night, and long-time live favourite will be the bands next single, due out at the end of next month.

The video, though, is more in tune with the end of this month, featuring a cops night-time drift from murder to murder.

[MP3] Pr0files’ ‘Call Yourself A Lover’

Pr0files is the new solo project from Baby Monster’s Danny Sternbaum. Baby Monster have been a fixture on electronic rumors since our beginning, despite their releases being a little too few and far between for our liking. Pr0files sees Sternbaum collaborating with long-time friend singer/keyboardist Lauren Pardini to produce some lush, swirling Dreampop. The two have worked together before in an outfit called The Boy Traveller, which featured Danny, Lauren and Skrillex (yup, apparently that was a thing that happened).

Their première track, Call Yourself A Lover, is a hazy, yet bombastic, slice of ElectroPop. With a orchestrated feel, builds itself around layers of luxurious synths that curl in and out of the track like smoke, washing the Trance-like apreggios and ElectroPop bassline in surges of dreamlike noise. Lauren’s vocal balances between ethereal and IndiePop cool, giving the track some grounding. This is one for the headphones, let it sweep you away.

[Audio] Pyramid reMixes Goldn Retriever’s ‘I Feel Great Now’

The latest slice of majestic French analog SynthWave from the amazing Pyramid comes in the form of this reMix for Goldn Retriever. No, not the dog (notice the lack of an ‘e’ in ‘Golden’), but the London based producer who recently released his album The Dawn Within, from which this track, I Feel Great Now is taken.

Pyramid taken the smooth, soulful Electronics of the original and morphs it into an edge Sci-fi epic with that piercing quality that only he can pull off. A menacing machine beat pounds away in the background, peppered with vintage purcussion, to provide a robotic march for incoming waves of icy, dystopian synths. Amidst all this android funk there is a real human quality to Pyramid’s music that feeds into the original’s vocals. Another quality futuristic soundtrack from Pyramid.
