[Download] Aimes’ ‘Marvin Gardens’

aimes

Here’s the latest slice of laid-back synthetic Disco from one of Brooklyn’s finest Aimes. Marvin Gardens is a free download, ‘cos Aimes is just that kinda’ guy. In fact, this is the third in a series of freebies that the man is giving away. I know, right? Crazy! But he does it anyway. Marvin Gardens is another top quality tune from Aimes, prepare for some, as they say, ‘chillvibes’.

Injecting a bit of classic Soul into his work via Marvin Gaye’s Pride And Joy. Which Aimes sets amongst a blissful array of lush, thick synths and a rockin’ Boogie-fied bassline. Totally dreamy, the track just seems to carry you away on it’s back, and by the time the precise lead melody comes-in, followed by bouncy keys, you’re well and truly on another planet.

[Download] Futurecop! & New Arcades’ ‘Atari Warrior’

futurecop

UK Dreamwavers Futurecop!’s new album, Hopes, Dreams & Alienation was supposed to be released on August, but it wasn’t, it’s now set to drop this month. To celebrate, the guys are giving away this brand new track, Atari Warrior, that features none other than out very own New Arcades. Get involved.

Atari Warrior is short but sweet. Clocking in at just under two and a half minutes, the tune is a mixture of Futurecop!’s Electro, New Arcades’ passionate vocals and an extra helping of ChipTune. Starting off with a tough SynthWave vibe, the tune soon descends into controlled sonic chaos with big synth leads pumping, piercing arpeggios and a soaring vocal performance. Exhilarating stuff.

[Audio] Nude Disco reMixes Classroom Battles’ ‘Sway’

Classroom Battles

Classroom Battles are a French/Irish Indie-Electro outfit who released their début EP This Week’s Question last month to a fair amount of coverage, not least because they ran a competition giving away an Ableton Push controller to celebrate the EPs release. London’s best-kept-secret Nude Disco is on the case with a reMix of the track Sway from the EP, which is out now and also included a Dub version of this mix.

Nude Disco inject the tune with a heavy groove. Thick synth bass provides a nice contrast to a bright, raindrop, lead line and a smallest hint of guitar add a little colour. The track shows hints of SynthWave, especially in it’s opening chords, but mostly it’s a nice, clean slice of modern ElectroPop with big dancefloor tendencies and an involving aspect you can get lost in equally in the headphones or on the dancefloor.

[Audio] Daroc’s ‘Volute Club’

Daroc

For his contribution to the recently released Le Burgundy Paris L’Album compilation album, French SynthWaver Daroc delivered a brand new track. Titled Volute Club, this is the first we’ve heard of the Parisian since his cover version of Eric Charden’s Captain Harlock theme. Expect enveloping Sci-Fi soundscapes to follow.

Layered with piercing vintage synths and undulating, driven beat, Volute Club drops you right in the on-the-edge-of-your-seat mood with some haunting piano before erupting in waves of synths. Sometimes taking on a BladeRunner vibe, sometimes sounding more Baroque, Daroc always keeps things both an atmospheric soundtrack and exciting electronic music.

[Audio] Com Truise’s ‘Declination’

Com Truise

We love unexpected surprises, and this week there was a big one in the form of a new tune, and release details from SynthWaver Com Truise. His new EP is due for release in February next year on Ghostly International to be titled Wave 1. The EP will include this track, a collaboration with Joel Ford (from Ejecta and Ford & Lopatin) called Declination.

Declination is a robust slice of Electro Boogie. A lush retro SynthPop track with heaps of vintage electric Soul and a B-Boy vibe. With a killer bassline, swathes of 80s synths, the track is the prefect launch-pad for Ford’s period fitting vocals. The chorus in particular, is just so authentically 80s it’s easy to forget this is a new release. We think it might be because of the hint of Scritti Politti in the vocals, or the synth stabs sitting amongst the punchy bass, or the Labyrinth-soundtrack-like bells. Whatever the reason, Truise is teasing us with another storming release of retro Electro.

[Audio] GotSome’s ‘Bassline’ reMixed by Amtrac

gotsome

Currently, Bristol House heard GotSome’s Bassline is seriously blowing up, and we couldn’t be happier for them. This duo definitely has a big future, and whatever they follow Bassline up with is just going to keep that momentum going. The track itself, though, has been given this gloriously groovy workout by Kentucky’s bassmaster Amtrac. Enjoy.

Amtrac keeps thinks deep with his version of the track, utilising subby tones with gentle, evolving chords to deliver a low-slung mood. With a slight hint of Techyness and a sprinkling of Techno amongst his body moving House, Amtrac brings a Robo-Disco quality to GotSome’s festival floorfiller. A real late-night jam, with a few surprises toward the end.

[Download] Jensen Sportag’s ‘After Gardens’ reMixed by Obey City

sportag

Have a free download. Courtesy of Jensen Sportag, who are in a right good mood ‘cos everyone loved their début album Stealth Of Days. And good moods make you generous. this little chunk of costs-nothing gold comes in the form of a reMix of album track, the slinky After Gardens, from angry cap-wearer and sometime tour buddy Obey City, who, unsurprisingly, come from Brooklyn, because doesn’t everybody. You get a free analog synth when you move into the area (we may have made that joke before). Studios in Brooklyn must get dead crowded!

Anyhoo, Obey City does a wonderful job with the track, giving it a slick, soulful, Pop sheen. whereas the original was subdued and dreamlike, this reMix pops out of the speakers, all shimmering synths and snappy purcussion. Obey City understands the mood of the track, he keeps the vibes as they should be, just injects a little more urgency into the track. It’s a nice compliment to the original.

[Download] Bit Funk’s ‘Soul Satisfaction’

Bit Funk

Soul Satisfaction is the latest tune from Brooklyn beatmaster Bit Funk and as per-usual, the man comes up with something surprising, innovative and out-of-the-blue. On Soul Satisfaction that surprise is a beautiful deep-south-y blues-y vocal which imbues the song with, well, soul. Check it out.

Remember in the mid-890s, when everyone was sampling old Blues records and pairing them up with piano hooks and breakbeats? Well, Soul Satisfaction is kinda’ like that, but minus the breakbeats and plus a truck load of House grove. The whole experience, from the finger-snapping beat to the big choruses, is quite dramatic and emotional, with Bit Funk’s music rising and falling with the vocals. It’s really hard not to love.

Bit Funk – Soul Satisfaction

Soul Satisfaction is taken from Bit Funk’s forthcoming Soul Satisfaction EP, due out 12th December.
