Just a quick one for you this Friday, busy weekend ahead.
Here is the new video for Cinnamon Chasers forthcoming single ‘Two Hours Time’, an amazing, dreamy Disco –Pop track, that continues in CC’s tradition of beautiful, storytelling clips. This time directed by Jovan Todorović and shot across Serbia, Austria, Germany, Holland and Spain.
Toronto’s Parallels are a big favourite round our way. The perfect blend of ElectroPop and 80’s synthesizer Disco who sound every bit as classic as the do fresh.
Anyway, here’s the new video for their forthcoming single ‘Dry Blood’, the storming third track on their début album ‘Visionaries’.
Not the video in my mind when I hear the track, but a video that works strangely well nonetheless.
Miami Horror are on a roll right now whit another new single on the horizon.
Taken from their début long player ‘Illumination’, ‘Holidays’ has been perfectly matched with this summery Californian video directed by the team of Krozm (A.K.A.Chris Hill and Lachlan Dickie).
Penguin Prison’s new single ‘Golden Train’ is less than a month from release. I used to call PP Bedroom Pop, I’m not sure if I still can, his sound had defiantly got bigger and the new single is the best example of this so far.
Some awesome reMixes grace the single too. Sam Sparro delivers what i consider to be the best, it’s a Disco Pop workout that got an infectious groove that’s just a suited to the dancefloor as the radio. UK outfit Boxed In turn in a broken Techno/Disco mix with added Jazz piano!
‘Golden Train’ is shaping up to be an excellent single package!
We heard from a few sources earlier in the week that ElectroPunks Crystal Castles were releasing, as a future single, a version of ‘Not In Love’, from their second self-titled album, that would feature the vocals of The Cure frontman Robert Smith.
Well here it is! It’s actually a lot better than I thought it would be, somehow it just works. Robert Smith’s unmistakable voice sits atop Crystal Castles’ noisy electronics surprisingly well. It may have been one of CC’s poppier songs to begin with but I wasn’t expecting the collaboration to sound so ‘right’.
We knew a while back that the amazing Monarchy we’re reMixing Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark next single, we just didn’t expect to be hearing it so soon, they’ve only just finished!
‘Sister Marie Says’ was the first material from OMD’s new album ‘The History Of Modern’ way back in December last year so we always figured it was on the cards for a single. One thing I like about OMD’s return is that they are picking really good contemporary reMixers. The last single boasted the likes of VillaNah and French Horn Rebellion and now Monarchy.
The pairing of OMD and Monarchy seems to good to be true and the result is pretty special. Monarchy seem to have really got their teeth into creating a modern sounding 80’s track and come up with a reMix every bit forward looking as retro.
Hey! The weather’s getting shitty and I’ve got a long journey this week so I knocked up this rough ‘n’ ready Mixtape that I’ll share with you lot. There’s some awesome ‘pretend it’s still Summer’ tunes on there.

I’m Not A Band are classically trained musician Stephan J and vocalist Kassandra Papak from Germany who create an interesting mix of Laptop Pop and traditional instrumentation.
Their forthcoming single, ‘Crazy’, has been giving the ol’ reMix treatment by electronic rumors friend MMMatthias who serves up a version full of his trademark retro synths lines but with more of a raw feel than his previous work. When the tracks garage beats and squealing analog electronics reach a climax, toward the end of the track, following the songs chord progression it is truly euphoric!
‘Ace Of Hz’ is the first brand new material from ElectroPop legends Ladytron in a while.
The track actually features on the soundtrack of Football game ‘FIFA ‘11’ from EA Games (and it’s not for the first time that Ladytron have been included in a FIFA game, ‘Runaway’ was part of the ‘FIFA ‘09’ soundtrack) and is a proper reminder of why the band’s forthcoming album is so eagerly awaited with a sound that is reminiscent of the early Ladytron albums mixed with the sophistication of songwriting from their later works.
ElectroPop producer extraordinaire turned Nu-Disco celebrity Starsmith has just dropped a new tune over on his SoundCloud. In his own words ‘We Leave Tonight’ is “Just something I was mucking about with…” but we all know that Starsmith mucking about is the ElectroPop equivalent of Picasso doodling on a napkin…it’s still gonna’ be worth shit loads!
The track is piano led, mid-tempo, chilled builder that defiantly shows there’s more to Fin than bangers and just makes us more exited about a full length record from the man.
