alloapm’s new single

alloapm

Tokyo DreamPop outfit alloapm’s new single is being released on Sunlinxx next month. It;s easily their best track to date. Malc Yacob and Amelie Mirror Adnis finally seem to have found their sound and slotted comfortable into it. This is a much more polished, much more mature record than their previous tunes, and one that finally shows off their years of experience in electronic music.

‘Gorilla Slighly’ is a complex track that sounds really simple, and that’s a genius bit of work. All the best songs are simple groves and alloapm put off making an intricately programmed, multi layered tune feel like an easy riff. Big, thick, synths and jittery percussion ride over a solid Disco beat while some heavily modulated vocals deliver a smooth flow. It’s got a pretty unique sound, whilst still fitting the beach party Disco vibe. reMixes come from labelmates Keenhouse, who turn in a deep piano house mix. Keenhouse’s mix is killer. And Rhythm Droid with a dub heavy glitchy mix. Abelard rounds off the package with the big Dreamwave mix we were all waiting for, this is the one for summer good times. That’s how to do La Disco!

Goldroom reMixed by Oxford

goldroom

First Freak You’s reMix of Goldroom & Australian Singer Chela’s ‘Fifteen’ yesterday now today we are presented with another reMix from the highly underrated Frenchman Oxford. It’s another really stunning track from this producer who always brings a cool vibe to his tunes, things are no different here.

Loading the track with a smooth, funky, groove, Oxford picks up the tempo from the laid back Dreamwave original and gives it an upbeat beach party Disco sound. By making the track all about good vibes Oxford retains the innocence and nostalgia of the original but injects it with a little more of a dancefloor sensibility. Slick Disco licks and pumping sidechaned chords bounce the track along, providing a solid core for the rousing vocals to ride, turning it into a real sunrise anthem.

Freak You reMixes Goldroom

goldroom

Drewamwave originator (literally) Goldroom and Australian vocalist Chella’s ‘Fifteen’ saw a stunning return to what Dreamwave was supposed to be about, nostalgic good times and emotional resonance with a good groove. the track has made quite a stir since it dropped early last month, so much so that Josh, under pressure from admirers, released the acapella to the public.

Luckily for us it was picked up by On The Fruit Records main man and all round top DiscoElectroPop producer Freak You. Freak You washed the track ain layers and layers of right tones and lush pads. So much so that the track is actually borderline Chillwave. More Chillwave with a proper Disco beat. The swirling masses of starlight arpeggios forming a wall of melody that weaves in and out of the reverb washed vocals to create something quite magical. Like a Disco dream, it’s all beats and soft-focus.

Jordan F’s ‘A New Day

jordan-f

Australian top -tier SynthWave producer Jordan F is back with another new track, ‘A New Day’. I kinda’ get the feeling that since his reversion back to the Jordan F moniker after a brief spell as Countach, that he’s working toward something, that these new tracks being deliver are taking us on a journey toward something special. Is it nearly album time maybe?

‘A New Day’ is a beautiful track that really captures the feeling embodied in it’s title. It’s a bright, optimistic tune, laying out, sonically, the promise of a fresh start and new horizons after a set-back. Jordan’s use of upbeat drums and sparkling layers of synths alongside a happy, bouncy bassline in this track are something you can’t help but smile at, even if you’re having a shitty day, and I think that;s the point of the track. But all that is beside the point once you hit Jordan’s epic soloing, pure synth shredding that will leave you slack-jawed and in awe as this rush of synthesizer music emotion washed over you. Also, in a real world situation, I’m just going to have this track hand on y mp3 player for the long cold walks home in the blinding morning light after all-night clubbing adventures.

All Night Shoes

All Night Shoes

All Night Shoes is a brand new artist from California whose released a few reMixes in the last six months. Unsurprisingly, ailing from California, All Night Shoes has gone down the Dreamwave/Nu-Disco. His new original track ‘Let U Go’ is awash with lush synths and cool vibes.

All Night Shoes sound is a little rough round the edges, the production need a little work, but he’s picked up the Dreamwave flavour nicely. ‘Let U Go’ show a lot of promise with it’s rolling bassline and big thick ‘80’s synths. It;s a driving track that captures enough of the LA beach vibe and mixes it some a harder elements to produce something quite unique. I think All Night Shoes needs to spend a bit of time working on the production, and on some his patch programming, but on the whole it’s a nice début and one which makes All Night Shoes a name we will be keeping an eye on.

Camouflage Lodge

camouflagelodge

Camouflage Lodge is a new one-man project from the keyboard player from one of our favourite Indie-electro acts, Tubetops. Kevin Bendis has taken on the Camouflage Lodge moniker to put together some really sweet summer ElectroPop tunes and has just released his début EP, for free. Check it out.

The ‘Old Haunts’ EP hold four tracks of hazy, blissed out synthesizer IndiePop with a chilled beach theme running through it. From the opening track, ‘Séance On The Beach’, the EP conjures feelings of nostalgia  through the liberal sprinkling of Indie guitar amongst the Dreamwavey synths. Admittedly sometimes the EP does veer into slightly Indie dirge territory, but when Camouflage Lodge hits the good weather, good times, retro Pop vibe, he hits it perfectly. Definitely one for the coming good weather.

Mental Minority’s new track

Mental Minority

The Mental Minority is back, and by that we mean the enigmatic German SynthWave producer had dropped another track. This time he’s ramped up the ‘80’s teen movie soundtrack quota considerably, if such a thing is possible ( I would have thought it wasn’t, and the ‘80’s teen movie soundtrack quota was already pretty full, but Mental Minority has proved me wrong).

‘Take My Hand’ sails along on beams of ‘80’s-synth light. A mid-paced jam that’s loaded with lush chords and shimmering, chiming lead sounds. Underneath all that sparkly nostalgia is are these deep strings, almost like a Gregorian chant, that adds a somewhat hypnotic quality to the track, giving it more depth and richness than just the leads impart. This really is top quality SynthWave and Mental Minority is coming on in leaps and bounds, even bringing something a little different to the table.
