[Download] Rogue Vogue & Patrick Baker’s ‘Until The Dawn’

rogue-vogue

Are we getting a little-burnt out on seeing tracks that are featuring Patrick Baker? Maybe a bit. Don’t get us wrong, we love Patrick, we’ve been following him since the beginning, we love his music and every success of his we feel is so well deserved. But Nu-Disco and House needs to find a new male vocalist, tunes are starting to blend into each other little bit. Also, Patrick doesn’t need any distractions from producing his own awesome music! That said, Patrick’s latest featruing turn, for Chicago House guru Rogue Vogue is simply gorgeous. We’re premièring it right here.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is how you do funky, soulful, vocal Chicago House. Both Rogue Vogue’s production & arrangement and Patrick’s vocal performance are a masterclass in getting it right. Mixing up a little 90s Pop swing into a Garage-y warehouse groove you get those tough House beats with a catchy Pop-Dance hook. Patrick’s vocals dance aver the track with a playful cool as Rogue Vogue injects smooth electric piano and shuffling purcussion into the tune. Rogue Vogue is racing ahead of the pack these days with quality release after quality release, and this is one you just can’t help but move to.

[Download] Arcadis’ ‘Chicago Alley’

Arcadis

We first wrote about German producer Arcadis back in October of last year, featuring his London Lights EP. Right now we’re checking out his new track, Chicago Alley, and can only conclude that the Deep House producer is working his way toward a concept album fashioned around the theme of cities of the world. Either that or the man just enjoys paying homage to tow of House music’s established homes. Either way his new tune is pretty storming.

Chicago Alley will be right up your…er…alley if you have a penchant for booming, pulsating synths, warm vocal samples and old school Chicago beats. They pay between the tunes deep sine-y basses and the haunting, heavily reverbed vocals create a nice, soulfully robotic, groove jumping over a heavy, heavy beat. Perfect warehouse fodder, drop this when the crowd are right in the middle of the dancefloor trance. Another quality tune from Arcadis.

[MP3] Awkoder’s ‘Ho.Ho.Ho!’

Awkoder

The latest tune from French SynthWaver Awkoder sees the talented producer moving in a slightly Houseier direction. Trading his usually moody and atmospheric retro synth tunes for a gloriously nostalgic slice of Chicago House with Tropical overtone, Awkoder sets his sights of claiming the very last of the good weather in 2013. Even if skies are getting greyer, Ho.Ho.Ho! (despite sounding X-massy) will keep the summer vibes going.

If your in the market for some upbeat synth stabs and early 90s vocal sampling with your Island purcussion on full-on House beats, then you’ve come to exactly the right place. Awkoder had captured the excitement of dance music int he late 80s and early 90s and bottled in in his new track. Of course there is a totally addictive piano hook in tow, like the icing on the House cake. It’s hard not to smile at Ho.Ho.Ho!, and even harder not to dance.

[Audio] GotSome’s ‘Bassline’

GotSome

Bristol House duo GotSome have been racking up some serious radio play in recent months. Their forthcoming début single, Bassline, has not only been championed by both Annie Mac and B.Traits and MistaJam but has also been picked up by Defected for a release later this month. One half of GotSome happens to be Alex from Substatic, so, y’know, at least he’s got an excuse for the lack of Substatic tunes recently.

As moody and atmospheric as it is infectiously danceable, Bassline mixes up a little Chicago, a little Acid and a little Balearic all rolled up in a decidedly UK package. Get Along Gang provide some ear worm vocals that flow with the pumping bassline and retro future keys. There’s a good chance you may have already heard this tune over the summer, and with release date looming it looks set for big things.

GotSome’s début EP featruing Bassline, Don’t Want You Back and On Point is released 14th October on Defected.

[Audio] Disclosure & London Grammar’s ‘Help Me Lose My Mind’ reMixed by Paul Woolford

disclosure_thumb

UK Producer of the moment Paul Woolford has turned in this glorious head nodding reMix of Disclosure’s London Grammar featuring Help Me Lose My Mind. A reMix so good it’s getting it’s own release alongside a Dub version int he coming weeks. What happens when you mix up Disclosure’s UK Deep House with an infectious old school piano hook? Dancefloor insanity, that’s what!

Snappy beats dominate the track, part Chicago, part Garage, the pop away in the background laying the foundations for layers of spacious synths. Take the piano and bass away from Woolford’s mix of Help Me Lose My Mind and it’s quite a floaty, dreamlike tune, but that razor sharp bassline and rolling, infectious, House piano keep the track constantly in sharp focus. Hannah Reid ethereal vocals are just the icing on the cake.

[Audio] Citizen & Joe Ashworth’s ‘Situation’

Citizen

Situation is the latest release on W&O Street Tracks comes from London.Nottingham producer Citizen’s team-up with newcomer Joe Ashworth. These two together deliver straight-up deep club vibes on their new one, Situation. Prepare for some deep warehouse jackin’ vibes.

Featuring vocal work from Shona Carmen, the track own much of it’s DNA to early 90s House tracks, but it brandishes those influences subtly. Working it’s way into London’s clubland just as much as imitating Chicago pioneers. Rather than a pastiché of House-gone-by, Situation works a punchy, deep subby bassline and big diva vocals to their fullest amidst a contemporary arrangement. The best of both worlds really. Get into it.

[MP3] Paulie’s ‘Want You’ reMixed by Monday Club

Paulie

We’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of sometime Cosmonaut and deep Disco producer Paulie’s new single, Want You, since last month and with Mondays imminent release we can wrap our ear holes around one of the reMixes, a luxurious boom-filled warehouse mix from enigmatic London producer Monday Club.

Monday Club really lets himself go on this mix. Starting life as a Chicago-esque jam, with almost Bleep House-like overtones the track swiftly evolves into a glorious, epic, collision of Deep House grooves, Cosmic Disco retro-futurism and Euphoric Trance, well, euphoria. You might think that sounds like a mess, but check out the reMix, it’s tight as hell and a dancefloor oddessy with a true musical narrative. Ass kicking bass too!

[MP3] Chris Malinchak’s ‘If U Got It’ (+ ‘So Into You’)

Chris Malinchak

If U Got It is the forthcoming new single from New York Funky House producer Chris Malinchak. Following up on his breakthrough hit So Good To Me, the ex-French Express man (now signed to Relentless Records) had his new tune premiered by Pete Tong on his Radio 1 show this past weekend. If U Got It is the prefect follow up to the catchy, soulful, Nu-Disco of his previous.

With a crooning selection of vocal samples and a laid back groove, If U Got It is a prime example of Malinchak’s musicality. Expertly blended electric piano and a jazzy swing give this carefree House tune a dreamy, chilled mood. But that’s not all, Malinchak is also giving away a new tune called So Into You, a deep and infectious Chicago-esque track that lifts it’s vocal hook from The System’s Don’t Disturb This Groove and applies it to some warm, summery, warehouse sounds. [Audio] Plastic Plates’ ‘Come On Strong’

Plastic Plates

Felix Bloxsom A.K.A. the awesome Plastic Plates, has finally poked his head out from his studio and furnished us with a brand new tune, and it’s been a while. With this new tune he’s no only sowing off a new direction, but that he’s lost none of his talent for moving the dancefloor.

Come On Strong is pure House. Even Plastic Plates most recent track, his reMix of Para One’s Every Little Thing, back in March, still had a strong Disco undercurrent, but Come On Strong is 100% Chicago warehouse fodder. Working both an early 90s House sound and a more contemporary club vibe, Felix effortlessly commands the tracks six minute length, creating an every building symphony of deep basses, hypnotic vocal samples and hammered Rave leads that’ll have you reaching for the white gloves in no time. An excellent example of both jackin;’ and Deep House that’s already being supported by the likes of Alex Metric, Aeroplane, Touch Sensitive, and Cassian.
