Cut Slack

cut slack

Cut Slack recently featured highly in out round up of the best entries in Fear Of Tigers ‘Pippi Longstrump’ reMix competition.

Now the Portuguese producer is back with an original track, ‘Get A grip’ and it shows that, unlike many of his peers, he doesn’t need stems to fall back on, this guy has the chops. Perfect summer night vibes emanate from every inch of this tune from the slick running bass, snatched samples and big retro chords. Remember the name Cut Slack, we think you’ll be hearing a lot from this Dude.

Cut Slack – Get A Grip

Waek reMix Fancy

fancy

French Touch producer Waek has turned in an awesome, synth sliding, reMix of Fellow french Rock act Fancy’s ‘All Night Long’.

If you recognise Fancy’s singer Jessie Chaton’s voice, but can quite place it, imagine it singing “The way you move is a mystery” then Google “Fancy – D.A.N.C.E. (Do The F.A.N.C.Y.)”. Waek version of ‘All Night Long’ underpins that voice, which is burned into every Electro fans brain, with a nice combination smooth retro synths and twisted Electro Funk bass, There’s some amazing playing in this mix.

Tesla Boy’s ‘In Your Eyes’ reMixes

tesla boy

In celebration of hitting the 20,000 ‘likes’ mark on Facebook, Tesla Boy, Russia’s kings of ElectroPop have dropped a ton of new reMixes.

These additional mixes of ‘In Your Eyes’, the track the guys had featured on the last Kitsuné Maison compilation range from Taras 3000’s downtempo SynthPop to Lipelis’ jacking ‘90’s House takes on the track. The front runners would have to be Lipelis’ original reMix, which is like and Acid warehouse party in your headphones and Volta Cab’s smooth, laid back, Electro Funk. A solid groove and tons of soul.

Justin Faust reMixes Moullinex

Moullinex

Here we have Justin Faust’s contribution to Moullinex’s forthcoming ‘Modular Jam’ reMix EP.

Mr. Faust adds some razor sharp synths with an almost Acid burbling to his crisp, clean Disco. Everything about this mix is so bright, like a shining white future built upon layers and layers of  head nodding riffs, immaculately produced. With an infectious hook and a mix that lets every element shine through, Faust has knocked out another winner here.

M83 reMixed by Who Killed JR?

m83

A brief glance at SoundCloud will reveal that the world is flooded with shitty reMixes of M83’s ‘Midnight City’ that’s don’t really do anything and are just uninspired ‘producers’ trying to latch onto the latest buzz track. …Who Killed JR?, however, totally nail it!

The South African producer adds just the right amount of dancefloor energy into the tune, keeping enough of the original to make it recognisable but cutting and pasting it in interesting ways and adding his own layer of melody, finding the prefect balance between the original and making it his own. This mix would go down a storm at peak time, with the instantly identifiable riff of the original and a whole new level of groove.

Nite Jewel’s ‘One Second Of Love’

Nite Jewel

Nite Jewel had just dropped the first taste of what to expect from her forthcoming new album.

The album is set to drop March 2012, but right now we can check out the title track ‘One Second Of Love’. It just the kind of blurry collision between LA Nu-Funk and Downtempo ElectroPop that’s we’d expect from Nite Jewel. Featuring emotionally injected synths and a deep groove for Ramona Gonzalez’s catchy, but slightly distant vocals to ride over. Ramona’s stripped down, minimal take on DiscoPop has always made her stand out for the pack, and this new album should be something to look forward to.

The ‘One Second Of Love’ album is out 5th March 2012, preceded by the single ‘She’s Always Watching You’.

Shook reMixes The Ting Tings

The Ting Tings

Dutch Funkmeister Shook’s latest reMix is of The Ting Tings’ forthcoming single ‘Hang It Up’.

It should be unsurprising by now, but Shooks version of the tune is pure Electro Boogie gold. Classic Moog-esque bass synths dance in and out of slap bass licks to create this funky, undulating undercurrent to the track, leaving room for vocal snatches and some of the most intricate, complex programming I have heard in ages. Shook continues to amaze.

‘Hang It Up ‘ is released 30th December
