Yelle reMixed by Cut Slack

We’ve been keeping our eyes on Cut Slack for the last couple of months, we definitely think this Portuguese producer is going to be giving us some awesome tunes in 2012.

He’s easing us into it with this new reMix of the awesome Yelle’s ‘Comme Un Enfant’, where he’s got a perfect grasp of the groove of the track and works it to his advantage with heaps of funk bass and big retro chords. We’re keeping our eyes on Cut Slack, now you know you should be too, he’s going to be a Nu-Disco name in the coming year.

Tesla Boy’s new tune

tesla boy

Russia’s greatest ElectroPop export Tesla Boy have dropped a new track, and a taste of what to expect from them in 2012.

‘Waste My Body’ combines that classic smooth Tesla Boy sound with a touch more aggression. The bass, in particular, has more balls to it whist the chorus is surprisingly full-on Pop for these guys, which a nice ‘80’s touch. You can see where the band is heading, funnelling retro Pop and Nu-Disco in to one energetic output. We’re definitely looking forward to Tesla Boy’s new album.

Overthrill’s ‘Disco Music’

overthrill

German dancefloor rocker Overthrill has dropped something a bit special to keep you moving during the holidays.

‘Disco Music’, pull in DNA from the high points of Daft Punk and Justice’s careers and wraps them up in Overthrill’s own unique take on Electro and Nu-Disco. Driven by a juggernaut funk bassline and sweet melodic vocoding ‘Disco Music’ maybe the spiritual successor to ‘Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’ but Overthrill has created a tune to keep the dancefloor jumping on it’s own merit.

Jensen Sportag reMixes Madi Diaz

madidiaz

Jensen Sportag have served up a sweet X-Mas gift in the form of a deep DiscoPop reMix of Nashville singer/songwriter duo Madi Diaz’s ‘Trust Fall’.

Jensen Sportag’s reMix is so smooth it is borderline Yacht. Layering some nice thick Moog Funk for the bass with some serious maritime chord work and wicked Disco licks seems to morph the track into a classy mid-‘80’s yuppie dancefloor number. This is a track for smokey city nights or sunsets on deck. I’ll take either really, it’s fine.

Popular Computer’s new single

Popular Computer

Out this week is Popular Computer new record, ‘Lointain’.

We’ve been waiting for the release for a while now and it’s a stormer. Parisian Sylvain Dalido get’s into a synthetic Disco state of mind with a laid back electronic sound packed with vintage synths and Disco licks. On the reMix is a whole bunch of our favourite producers. Australian Dreamwave master Muffin, who has been away far too long, drops a delicious retro beach party of a tune, mixing up the Disco and the ‘80’s, which just highlight why we need to hear more from this man. Pharao Black Magic get their analog Disco groove on with a deep bass driven slice of slo-mo electronic Funk. Robotaki’s contribution is a wonderful mix of everything good in Nu-Disco and SynthWave with a strong Moog Funk rhythm section, twisting lead lines and shimmering retro chords fit of a perfect sunset.

Augustin’s Freeez edit

freeez

I love Freeez’s ‘I.O.U.’, it’s a track with a lot of memories for me. SO bearing in mind I[‘m going to be over critical about any reworks of the track, I have to say Augustin’s Disco edit really works.

Augustin has chopped the track up and given it a 21st century dancefloor makeover. Some of the beats are a little rough when listening on headphones but I’m sure they would go down a stormed in the club. The tracks got a nice build to it too, definitely one to drop.

Neo Disco Machine reMixes Badi Snetcher

Badi Snetcher

Russian Electro Disco producer Neo Disco Machine is currently working on a new album, in the meantime he’s dropped this mix of fellow Russians, Indie band Badi Snetcher.

If you like big basslines played on vintage synths then you’re in for a treat here. It track is a nice mix of deep synthesizer grooves aimed squarely at the dancefloor and more experimental moments that take you by surprise a little, but ate more than welcome.

Oliver’s ‘Footsteps’

oliver

The two Olivers in one, Oliver,  are back with another slice of Dreamwave awesomeness.

‘Footsteps’ is solid as a rock with a slow build to floaty, light, vibe underpinned with a machine groove. With a slow pulsating lead hook that draws you in and spits you out over and over again, the two Oliver’s have dropped yet another six minutes of Nu-Disco gold. Separately they (U-Tern & Oligee) are world class producers, together they are unstoppable.
