Short Circuit reMixed by Sam Padrul

We’ve already dropped the Fabian reMix of Short Circuit’s awesome ‘How We Speak’, now check out this funktastic version from Sam Padrul.

The Chicagoan producer lays on the Fuck thick on his reMix. He already had the sweet vocoder Disco of the original to work with and has taken that and run with it. The retro chords and digital slap bass are almost too much to bear playing off each other to bring whole new levels of smooth to ‘How We Speak’.

Short Circuit – How We Speak (Sam Padrul reMix)

‘How We Speak’ is taken from Short Circuit’s ‘Late Night Drive’ EP, out now on Binary Entertainment.

Moustache Machine’s Boulevard

Moustache Machine, he of the Italo Cassuis reMix we featured a while back had dropped a new track, ‘Boulevard Malesherbes’ that is cock full of Electro Boogie greatness.

There’s more synth Funk that you can handle in this track, the bassline alone is pure electronic Disco awesomeness, but add to that the synth toms and the 80’s chords and you have a chilled summer Disco tune that is prefect for long hot nights in good company.

Grum on the reMix with Nightriders

Nightriders’ new record ‘Get Hooked’ came out this week and the single includes a stunning reMix from Grum.

His version of ‘Get Hooked’ is a massive mash-up of hands-in-the-air influences, featuring the energy of early 90’s rave, some euphoric trance riffs, but none of the inherent cheesiness as the whole thing is wrapped up in a big room tune. Only Grum could make Euphoric Trance lines sound cool again.

Lifelike reMixes Those Usual Suspects

Australian Indie-Dance act Those Usual Suspects release their new single, ‘My Star’ featuring Yota, on Likelike’s label Computer Science.

The single boasts a couple of reMixes by Lifelike himself, the main one being a enchanting slice of organ based Nu-Disco that we can’t get enough of here. It’s an easy going reMix that that demands you sit back, take it easy and enjoy life a little more. Lifelike really is a master of Nu-Disco and this mix perfectly exhibits that fact with a groove so warm, so slick, that this tune’ll make you melt into the dancefloor. It’s also a whopping ten minutes!

The Human League’s next single

The Human League next single, the fourth taken from their recent album ‘Credo’, will be ‘Sky’.

It’s a bit of an odd choice for a single release, I think there are tracks on the album that are better suited, but it’s pretty quintessential League. A classic ElectroPop bassline and Phil’s narrative vocals dominate the track. The single is backed up with reMixes from Plastic Plates, The Hacker, Fusty Delights and Martin Brodin. Plastic Plates bring some really nice synth Funk into play on his reMix, which is probably my favourite of the single, while Fusty Delights is a close second as he revels in a retro synth workout that boarders on ols school EBM at times with rapid fire arpeggios.
