Follow @electronicrumorI thought the title of London Disco duo Ruben & Ra’s new track was evocative of something very familiar, and I was right.
This new tune is their take on Break Machine’s classic ‘Street Dance’ (a bit of a favourite of mine!). Lifting the call-to-dance vocals and that instantly recognisable whistling lead line Ruben & Ra mix it up with a little Nu-Disco, a ‘90’s house organ bass and create a modern anthem.
Ruben & Ra have just released a new Retrospective four tack EP.

Later next month Frances best ElectroPop trio Yelle release a reMix EP of ‘Comme Un Enfant’, from their awesome ‘Safari Disco Club’ album.
Kitsuné’s latest outfit, Juveniles provide the first mix, getting their quirky Indie-Electro vibe on with a bouncy stripped down synth Disco sound played off against stuttery Indie guitars. Second Date’s take on the track introduces some deep tribal sounds to the track. their version makes for a nice mix between proggy Electro and ElectroPop and a little Tropical flavour.

I’ve not come across Anjulie before, apparently she’s rockin’ gold records in her native Canada, obviously not made it this side of the Atlantic yet.
What I do know, however, is Laidback Luke has done his big Disco-House thing to her latest single ‘Brand New Bitch’ and loaded it with simple but infectious riffs and massive synth sounds. It controls the room with it;s builds like only Laidback Luke can. Black Cards also contribute a reMix, apparently this is someone from Fall Out Boy’s electronic project. It’s a tad dated, but now bad really. I’m saying ‘apparently’ in this post a lot, not really got a lot to say about either Anjulie (I don’t think I’d be a fan un-reMixed) or Fall Out Boy, the tunes are pretty good though, kinda’ what I’m in the mood for today.

Tobtok may only be 18 but he’s been throwing out some seriously good tracks.
His latest release, the ‘I’ll Never Forget You’ single, is made up of two slightly older tracks released for free on SoundCloud and is pure joy to listen to. Sitting between synthetic Disco and French Touch the lead track is a big builder with a chord progression that is total euphoria. Everything cuts through the mix on this track, from the retro synth stabs to the driving arpeggio. Quality stuff. the flip side, ‘Pressure’ brings a more Nu-Disco vibe to the table. Slick and sexy, the track is peak time beach music.

Russ Chimes’s reMixes may be more and more moving away from the retro synth sound but the man ever remains the king of intricate, immaculately produced dance tunes.
His latest reMix, for Dalston nutcases TEETH, is loaded with House, Balearic and surprisingly, euphoric Trance (that riff is pure hands-in-the-air). This track is going to kill at sunrise. The EP also holds reMixes from CSS and Brassica.

In exactly one months time The Magician unleashes his début solo single, ‘I Don’t Know What To Do’, on Kitsuné Music.
By now you’ve already heard the original track, featuring Jeppe on vocals. It’s got that hypnotic late ‘80’s House piano sound and Jeppe’s anthemic chant combine with thick, lush synths to make a track that will uplift dancefloors worldwide. the EP is chock full of awesomeness too, reMixes come correct from Plastic Plates, Second Date and our boy Fabian. Second Date bring some seriously deep Disco to the table with an almost sub bassline and beach guitar forming the basis for their brand of Disco, and unusual mix definitely. Plastic Plates always come through with the goods and here is no different. Synthetic Electro Disco loaded with my beloved electro toms. PP’s reMix has this slick jazzy synth lead that sets a really nice groove for the track. But it’s the man Fabian who really blows this EP up, starting his track understated with a smoothly building arpeggio that soon gives way to a massive LA Dreamwave track with a booty shaking Funk bass that moves your body while the thick synth chords send your brain to the stratosphere.
