We love Malaysian duo Dizkopolis’ ‘Class Of ‘91’, so it’s pretty cool to see the track now has a video.
The clip comes courtesy of director Ahmad Faris who was chosen by the TV channel Astro Hitz’ Music Video grant program, and he’s done an awesome job with this real life video game. Malaysia looks amazing!

Posttod are a Sweedish Electronica duo who push genre boundaries and wrap up myriad influenced in their beautiful, icy soundscapes.
The recently released their ‘Moon’ EP for free and should you take advantage of that amazing deal you’ll be treated to seven tracks of electronic, dreamlike soundtracks. Taking in components from everywhere from Dubstep to Chillwave to ElectroPop to Disco, Posttod create something decidedly Scandinavian sounding that just conjures images of forests and tundra. There’s something in this EP that reminds me of Røyksopp, maybe not directly in the sound, but in the approach to electronic music. The two acts are definitely experimental, and avant-garde, but highly melodic too. Here Posttod utilise broken beats, Dub basses, heavily reverb washed vocals and synth drones, but all the time accompany this with sweet melodies and passionate leads. ‘Moon’ is an accomplished peice of work that all fans of synthesizer music should check out.

We make no secret ‘round here that Cinnamon Chasers is one of our favourite producers working today. The CC recently launched a reMix competition off the back of his last single, ‘The Day That Never Came’ and we were pretty excited when the constantly awesome Mr. Mæn dropped his entry.
The original track sees Cinnamon Chasers leaning toward an almost Electro-Rock direction with dark overtones, so Mr. Mæn pulls the track back to a mare dreamlike place. His chilled Dreamwave bringing out an ‘80’s Pop side to the gothy vocals. Mr. Mæn pulls of the perfect vibe for a more summery, sunset version of this track with great use of layered melody and soaring leads.

After a week of build up yesterday Philosophy Of Sound released their new track ‘Freedom What For?’.
This is the Melbourne based duo’s second single for Discotexas and has so far generated a fair bit of hype. Well deserved it is too, the track rolls on a sprawling synth bass that will have you hooked the minute it kicks in. A lyrically politically charged track, ‘Freedom, What For?’ is cynical, but funky as hell, and with it’s power Italo bass and wicked guitar licks it just too infectious. the package includes a reMix from one half of Mustang, A.N.D.Y., which we features a couple of weeks ago as a stunning début, now you can download the instrumental version below, and be sure to check out the rest of the EP.

I’m still in two minds about the forthcoming Orbital comeback album, but their new single, ‘New France’ with Zola Jesus is growing on me.
It’s definitely a step in the right direction, I have been a massive Orbital fan in the past, but am concerned they might struggle to stay relevant. If the whole album is like ‘New France’ my fears may be unfounded.

Parisian producer DJ Cam is a bout to release the single ‘Uncomfortable’ on Inflammable Records/Studio !K7, a downtempo, dramatic track with an excellent reMix package.
Amongst those featured are James Curd who picks up the tempo and drops the listener onto his robotic dancefloor. The bulk of the reMix is made up of classic House moments but Curd gives them his own unique Electro twist, a real tune for synthesizer lovers. Second Date go the opposite direction on drop a slick late-night slow jam, full of early ‘90’s R&B tropes and a silky smooth vibe.

I suppose you have to take a trip to find out where home is. maybe that’s what happened to Jordan F, who recently shed his name to dabble with a smoother sound under the moniker Countach, however he found he missed Jordan F too much, and y’know what, so did we.
So Jordan F, or as we like to call him the man in desperate need of new press photos, is back and announcing his return with ‘Jordan’s Theme’, his synthesizer manifesto. The track itself is a smoothed out, solo infused version of the title track of his ‘Definitely Miami’ EP, a little slicker n the production, a little more mature sounding, and rocking some serious leads. But more than the music, it’s a marker, a point that Jordan F can move forward from and take us all on his crazy retro synth ride.
