[Audio] Keenhouse reMixes alloapm’s ‘Boy (Theme Of Boy)’

alloapm

Tokyo DreamPop duo alloapm look set to release their track of last year, Boy (Theme Of Boy) along with some reMixes int he near future. It looks like Helter Skelter Records will be stepping up for release duties and out friend Keenhouse is getting in on the reMix action.

A slight departure from Keenhouse’s more recent, psychedelic, work, this reMix is loaded with retro gold. Lush SynthWave sounds play with Keenhouse’s knack for smooth Disco and a selection of 80s hooks. the pitched down vocals might have seemed out of place in this mix, but Keenhouse balances everything nicely, building a mood until the Boogie kicks in, then the whole track goes stratospheric.

Hercules And Love Affair

Deep Acid Disco is on the cards with the new a single from the latest version of Andy Butler’s Hercules And Love Affair. Do You Feel The Same? is the first new track we’ve had from them in quite a while and comes from the forthcoming album The Feast Of The Broken Heart witch again sees Andy in the studio with Consolidated’s Mark Pistel.

If there’s one thing we love, it’s when the funky and the Acidic mix, and the is exemplified perfectly on Do You Feel The Same?. Long-time collaborator Gustaph, the voice of Moonlight Matters’ amazing Come For Me, croons over a burbling 303 bassline and some serious warehouse vibes. Capturing the drama inherent in Hercules And Love Affair tracks, Do You Feel The Same? is already fast on it;s way to becoming one of our favourite tracks of the year.

[Audio] Chromeo’s ‘Jealous (I Ain’t With It)’

Chromeo

We’ve got another new one right here from Canadian Funkmeisters Chromeo, the opening track of their forthcoming new album, White Women. The track, Jealous (I Ain’t With It), adds a little retro Indie flavour to their thick synth funk, keeping things as tongue-in-cheek as ever.

Kicking of with that laid back guitar chug, the trademark Chromeo bass and fat vintage synths soon make an appearance. The Chromeo wit is present and correct; as Dave1 put is ““Guys are all schmucks, let’s face it. I don’t know why music constantly extols this fictitious macho fantasy persona — we’re all just puny insecure oversize children. And it would be funnier to embrace it.”  as the duo turn in an utterly infectious slice of Disco soaked power Pop. Roll on the album.

[Audio] Tensnake reMixes London Grammar’s ‘Hey Now’

london grammar

German Housemeister Tensnake is on top of the world right now, and it’s good timing too as he’s gearing up for the release of his début album, Glow, which, from what we’ve heard, is going to sound awesome. Keeping up the energy until the record’s release Tensnake presents his latest reMix. It’s a mix of UK Indie-ElectroPop darlings London Grammar’s new single (and arguable their most recognisable song), Hey Now, and it’s pretty special.

Holding on to the London Grammar original’s guitar work, Tensnake merges their Indie sensibilities with his own warm and funky House vibes to create something that sounds almost Post Punk-y. An undulating and ethereal into soon gives way to a cascade of retro-tinged dancefloor sounds and Hannah Reid’s dreamy vocal. Rich and enveloping, this reMix is a little different from the norm, but a stunning piece of work.

[Audio] Johan Agebjörn reMixes Annie’s ‘Russian Kiss’

Annie

Sweden’s top ElectroPop producer, and one half of Sally Shapiro, Johan Agebjörn has whipped up this resounding reMix of Annie’s stance against Russia’s anti-gay laws, Russian Kiss. Retitled Sweedish Kiss (there’s also a Norwegian Kiss by Skatebård) the track is out now on Annie’s own label, Totally.

Johan goes all Sci-Fi Italo and Spacecoder with his version of the track.. A rolling arpeggiated bassline chugs underneath the tune, giving it it’s power, while floaty, galactic snyths swirl around the track. Annie’s vocals are given the vocoder treatment, making her heartfelt mantra sound like a robotic order. Otherworldly grooves from Johan here.

[Audio] Miles Prower’s ‘Virtually Reality’

Miles Prower

Here’s the latest tune from Bristol SynthWavers Miles Prower. Once again enlisting the help of Coralie Kate for vocal duties they present Virtually Reality. The title track of their forthcoming new EP, due out in summer, the track bodes well for a release packed with nostalgic flair.

This one’s got a classic sound, with just a hint of that Euphoric Trance vibe that Mile Prower tend to inject their tracks with. Leading in with some slick Italo bass sounds and the kind of dreamy keys that the French arm of the SynthWave massive are so well known for, the track soon introduces Coralie’s sweet vocals and waves of lush synths. As the tune progresses the synths build leaving the 80s for a full-on 90s hands-in-the-air moment.

[Audio] Lxury reMixes Hot Natured’s ‘Benediction’

Hot Natured

Lxury, the man behind J.A.W.S. and a storming reMix of Chvrches Lies has served up this reMix of London/LA House collective Hot Natured’s Benediction from 2012. Getting the stamp of approval from the Hot Natured crew, Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Luca C, and Ali Love; the track sees an official release next month behind some serious radio play.

This one has an awesome flow to it. A deep, deep, bass pops in and out of the track amidst sparse snatches of Ali Love’s original vocal and the kind of melody you just can’t get out of your head. A track perfect for UK festival play, this is both a sunshine jam and a warn club tune. Either way, we can’t stop listening.

[Audio] Happiness Cage’s ‘UHF Blaze’

Happiness Cage

Happiness Cage is the new side-project from Irish SynthWaver Adeyhawke, who you may remember for hitting the highest point in out Top 20 tracks of 2014 for an instrumental, within the top ten. As this Happiness Cage alter-ego he’s about to release a new EP in the next couple of month, but is already previewing tracks on SoundCloud. Check out UHF Blaze below.

UHF Blaze is a beautiful cacophony, a chaotic collision of  Italo, 80s Dance, Electro-House, ChipTune, even Complextro (remember that?) that all comes together to form a compelling whole. Racing beats, spiky synth basslines, Industrial purcussion, and chirpy melodies all keep the energy relentlessly high; but the track never feels like it’s getting away from you. Seeped in nostalgia enough to feel comfortable amidst the juggernaut groove.

Fear Of Tigers

More tracks incoming from Mr. Fear Of Tigers. here’s his latest, The Legend Of Ian Usher, and as you can expect; it provides some massive big room sounds. Complex and melodic, we hope this isn’t the last we’ve heard from one of the UK’s unsung musical heroes.

Remember when Electro-House tunes were big euphoric tunes layered thick with 80s nostalgia. Well, The Legend Of Ian Usher brings those huge sounds back. Corse Chip Tune sounds shudder and flow alongside lush retro synths and an utterly compelling Disco bassline. Chopped up smooth vocal samples give way to jazzy sax hooks.
